I believe that one was 25 call sign. I was unbelievably excited, wow. Was getting people everywhere. Made my day totally. You and Barbara have a blessed weekend. From Washington state northwest coast. ❤🦅🦅🦅👌👏👍😀

    Esse rádio é vendido no Brasil com a marca AQUARIO RP 50. Bom rádio e pode ser desbloqueado para centenas de canais apertando dois botões no painel.

    What no one has done is a mobile comparison between AM and FM modes.
    On AM, you have to constantly adjust the squelch to compensate for the ambient noise level. Up and down. With FM, you should only have to set it once, although skip stations will still come through.

    Hey John,
    Howdy. Have you looked at the President Bill II? it is also am/fm, and has the NOAA weather bands built in, and has the weather alert function(if set) that will change the radio to NOAA if they set off any tones. Just thought you'd like to know.
    73s,

    It is the same case as a Radioddity DB20g GMRS uhf/vhf radio. Comes in uhf/vhf as well. It’s a great size!

    Where can I buy only MR500 antenna without radio? It looks like NR-770R and visually I would have the same antennas for 10/11 and 2/70 ;-)

    This is identical to the crt xenon, it's probably possible to mod this up to about 15w and multi bands with a simple jumper solder. I have vid on nodding the crt, someone should pop it open and look at the circuit. 👍 Cheers mower dude u rock

      I just opened the radio, and it has a different board than the CRT. the MB1 has a PQ803ZA board in it.

      @@MowerJunkie I have the Albrecht AE-6290 which has the same display although the menu is slightly different as it has a repeater function . Also the front controls are slightly different. However, the board is the PQ803ZA. I have soldered the jumpers as per the simonthewizard instructions to unlock the high power option in the menu for CB channels. I can also confirm that soldering both jumpers unlocks the 12-10m bands.

    Everybody misses the fact this radio has CTCSS on FM. Imagine the only sound it makes is your wife calling you for supper. Now that the super bowl channel 6 has moved to channel 19. I've discovered a classic country radio station again./ Locals don't listen and DX has become the same bullies I left behind in high school.

    • @spaceflight1019
      @spaceflight1019 3 месяца назад +1

      CTCSS and DCS are both excellent options. The problem is that the overwhelming majority of women don't want to be bothered with the radio; they'll just text you when they want you.
      So...the cycle from 60 years ago will repeat, but on low band FM. 300 watt base stations, 100 watt mobiles.

      @@spaceflight1019 In 1984 I worked for a rockhauler that ran VHF Low radios. Something around 38 MHZ and 60 watts if I remember, Hang and ground the mic and it would engage the CTCSS. I would leave the mic on the seat and listen to the chatter from around the country. In late fall there was this sexy sounding Brazilian rancher's wife that knew she could be heard in North America teasing everyone to death with her voice. One of the drivers called her Tokyo Rose. The 90 inch whips could contact low hanging powerlines which was not good and was more likely to get one fired then putting a truck on it's side.

      @@2148aa The good old days! Despite being told that all of the action is going digital, there are a ton of low band analog users. Here in Pittsburgh, I've been able to hear the CHIPS on 42 MHz, but propagation hasn't been good or consistent.

      @@spaceflight1019 In Iowa// If someone at county level can write a grant proposal. Law enforcement is P25/// Farmers have gone from CB to GMRS//// Cedar Rapids school district is still UHF and a joy to listen to how they jockey buses and students around.. Two Tyson plants are fun to listen to fights between departments. Walmart is still MURS. We have a 1,100 foot tower owned by a religious FM station that moved to a 1,800 foot shared tower. The 1,1000 tower is just begging for a GMRS repeater. There has been no interest from 3 emergency management agencies, hams, and anyone preaching SHTF. 2016 two hams running a REACT GMRS station under the old rules let it go dark because of lack of interest in Waterloo. Part of their problem was. No ham tag, We don't want you.
