GLAD I saw this one too man..... BEST SONG WRITING DUO EVER possibly right ??? Lennon and MaCartney....shew at the hits....TONS N TONS N TONS ....says it all....enjoyed it man....JAM ON BRO...#MusicMaker69...Peace
Three great songs that have been in my repertoire for, I don't know, 40 or 50 years! The Beatles are a gold mine of songs that are great to have in your back pocket. Also great: Blackbird, Here Comes the Sun, Eight Days a Week, Hey Jude, Can't Buy Me Love, Dear Prudence, Help!, Something, and many more!
Nice video; I agree with "when in doubt, play Beatles." I have 15 Beatle tunes available in my repertoire and one song that I frequently do that Beatle aficionados routinely decry is "Ob La Di Ob La Da." Yeah, yeah, I know what people say about it but you know what? It's a consistent "foot tapper" and much singing along with the chorus! We are ENTERTAINERS, not critics! ;)
Hi Frank I am from the UK may i say I love your lessons & videos your approach to everything you do is fresh & interesting thank you so much keep up the good work
Right on. These are absolute sure fire songs you can’t go wrong with. I’ve had You‘ve Got to love Your Love Away forever in my cover arsenal but not the other two. I‘m adding them now, as well as Here Comes the Sun. My recommendations to you are It’s Only Love and I‘ve Just Seen a Face. Cheers...!
Man, I love your channel! :-) Not only for your obvious musical acumen and expertise, but also - and especially - for your excellent style of delivery and keen sense of how to „teach“ in the best sense of the word. I am writing this as a solo acoustic/electric performer with about 30 years of experience in bands, duos and now solo. I really enjoy your content, and also get inspired to attack some covers that had somehow missed me over the years/decades, e.g. „Hide Your Love Away“. My Beatles standards for whomever is seeking inspiration: Help, Let it Be, Here Comes the Sun, Give Me Love and Yesterday. Soon to add Norwegian Wood (thanks for the inspiration on that from another video of yours), Blackbird, Follow the Sun, Good Day Sunshine, In My Life and The Walrus. My repertoire consists of hundreds of songs across multiple genres and eras, but beefing things up with more Beatles seems like a great thing to do. Since I also aim to due funerals (brief unplugged, grave-side accompaniment and wake „celebrations“ here in good ole Germany, where I live), Let It Be should come in very handy. Recently played that one at a church‘s annual family fest, and that was the moment the pastor came forward and grabbed one of my business cards to slip in his suit jacket. :-)
thanks for the comment. glad the channel is entertaining and inspiring. thats what its all about. sounds like you are doing just fine and can tailor your repertoire to whatever kind of gigs you want to focus on getting. Thats the great thing about solo acoustic!! all the best
@@FrankPersico Thank you, kind soul! And the great thing is that even as a seasoned performer, I can still glean a lot from your videos - about the business/promotion side of things, positive ways of engaging the audience (your personality and way of talking to us viewers are like a walking, talking neon light for that), nice arrangements, looping (something I‘ve yet to try) and much more. If you ever come over to Germany, you‘ll surely be able to get plenty of gigs here for halfway decent (or better) pay, since audiences here are bound to appreciate your talent and style. Can‘t help but asking two questions in closing: Did you ever dabble in using some sort of harmony pedal to flesh out certain songs, or perhaps find that doing without and staying „pure & simple“ is better? Also, have you ever tried to play harmonica (with a neck rack) so as to more easily perform certain soli that are otherwise tough to play whilst keeping rhythm (apart from looping)? Just curious, since I play harmonica for lots of soli, which compensates for my lack of solistic talent on the guitar (haha), and am looking to get started with a TC Helicon VoiceLive 3 Extreme so as to add harmonies. Discourage me if you like. ;-)
Frank, great songs & tutorial. I’m doing my first gig about a month from now at a Senior center-You’ve Got To Hide You’re Love Away is def. going in the set list. Really enjoying and getting a lot out of your channel.
I’ve also been checking out the polyphonic Boss Octave The OC 5. This allows you to have just the low E and A strings to sound and octave lower. I think the key is not to overdo it. Just sprinkle that kind of thing in. What’s your thoughts?

Paul’s playing a power chord on bass d and an a

Thanks for the help.with the looping I have the Boos RC1. It has 2 inputs so I layed a guitar track then plugged in a bass put down a bass line.
