    Comment from a very old lady who has been quilting for more than 40 years, and no criticism. Those fabrics are nice, but they are "scraps", and I know you have just as beautiful fabrics and likely more match project you are working on. I have bought my share of so called good deals and in reality those fabrics are still in my tons of fabric that I will never use. Congratulations on grandbabies, they are the best treat ever!

      I actually used some of this bag in my tester blocks for the sew along. For me, the idea of the "scrap" bags is so I don't have to use my "chosen" fabrics on blocks I may not like.

    That mauvy (with the ruler printed on it) would accent that navy blue floral, you like so much. That is a great deal for all that fabric!!!

      Oh that is a different take than I was thinking! Thank you! So glad a new set of eyes with different creativity saw it.

    I think the scrap bag is worth the money. There's a lot that can be done with it and the basics come in handy for a lot of different projects. Thank you for sharing. 😊🌹🍁

      I agree! My bin for my scrappy quilt is looking really nice. I am thinking about getting another bag just to add some variety.

    Hello Cathy. I just recently stared watching your channel and I do enjoy very much. I am mostly interested in quilting. I have not bought any Fat Quarter scrap bags but have watched other channels and it seems like a very good deal. Please continue to show if you get more. I also watched your video on your haul from Annie's. That was a great deal and I have checked that out. When I first started quilting I only used Walmart fabric because I did not know better. I have 1 quilt that is 23 years old and some of the fabric is in shreds. It was washed many times and used by me my children and my grandchildren. I would say it is time to put it to rest now but it was my first big quilt and was good while it lasted. I do not use Walmart fat quarters now because i find them very rough and thin. I do have some left from years ago and have made pillow case style pillows to stuff my tiny scraps in. I use for dog beds sometime or just as a place to put all thise scraps. Wow didn't intend to go on so long but thank you again for all you do on your channel.

      You are welcome! Thank you for watching. I do have another scrap bag coming in and it is a different one. I am very excited about it too.

    I refuse to use any fabric that I wouldn't use on a quilt for a family member on a charity quilt. Those Walmart fabrics could be used for mug rugs or microwave bowl holders. Love seeing your haul and my hearing is a bit challenged but can hear you real good as you have great projection.💞

      Those are some good ideas - I completely forgot about the microwave bowl holders and I just received a template to make those a few weeks back. Looks like my children may be getting some microwave bowl holders for Christmas. I am so happy to hear that you can hear me well. I have been having issues with my microphone.

      Awesome! Thank you for subscribing. I will definitely check yours out too. I am trying to give it a little time before I order another one so I don't get the same fabrics.

      Orange alone is not my favorite but I am coming around to it when paired with some beautiful rustic blues and greens.

      I have the fabric on my ironing board about to press it out. I will do a photo post of the fabrics so everyone can get a better idea of what was in the scrap bag. I hope you enjoyed the video.

    Did you edit this--it is of you looking down at fabric and talking? What are we to look at?

    • @myhobbyhomelife
      @myhobbyhomelife  9 месяцев назад

      I do show the fabric in the video - the scrap bag was just a bundle and I was trying to sort the fabrics and measure out to give more information. I am not a big production with people to help with filming or extra cameras so I do the best I can with me and a cell phone. I do my unboxings completely raw. I do not open before I record so you see what I see and my initial reaction to the opening. Most always I am completely surprised.

    I use the Walmart fat quarters for mug rugs or zipper bags but not for quilts. I do like your scrap bag though.

      Thank you! I think the bag was a pretty good one and hope to get another a little later so I get a different variety of designs or fabrics.
