Excellent lol. Definitely more Occults in the Chaos one for additional surprises. It should also include whether or not you're into the full-body costumes and most of the Sims in there said yes, so Batuu aliens plus every wacky result from every other pack, like Patchy, Bonehilda, Flower Bunny, Llama mascot, hamsters, etc.

This just made me realise I've been playing surprisingly vanilla about who my sim dates in ts4. 3 was a lot more spicy! 😂

God this pack is the most should be base game of all the packs, they really paywalled romance
If it was together with my wedding stories if would be fine but making to romance packs is hm…

I sure hope TurboDriver was compensated for this, considering basically every "new" feature is something they've already created in the Wonderful / Wicked Whims mod.
My guess the upside to this is making it (relatively) easy for Turbodriver to rewamp WW to account for the new features.
The WW mods are the features from Sims 2 and 3. WW doesn't create this feature. If anything, WW are the one borrowed the features from the sims 2 and 3 :)
Yeah a lot is taken from ts2 rather than mods

They won’t and that’s where the TOC comes in when people are making mods for the sims. There’s literally nothing TurborDriver would be able to do about it either
This whole expansion seems very familiar to me, like modders have been doing something very close to it for years.
To be fair, the game is destined to add things that modders have done before because usually modders do things that people want. And ea should do that too.
The problem to me is that this is literally an empty pack. It's like going to the supermarket, buying a paper bag and paying 40€ for it. It's ridiculous. A new type if kiss? An App? A new rabbit hole career? And thats basically it?! It's embarassing
Console players can’t use mods so this will be very useful to them. Not everyone can use mods not everyone wants to
@@melinaalba63 all the mods that do this are wonderful. But honestly, it seems like EA is just taking their code, cleaning it up and using game pack sized resources to make CAS/build buy and World (and even a lot of cc has been recreated by EA). If Modders have been doing 1-6 features for years EA should at least add new features on top of that

"Ask for Attraction Level" - jeez. In TS2, the option was called "Do you like what you see?" and the Sim would perform a little animation of raising their hands and sort of moving suggestively when they asked it. And you didn't get a boring notification telling you the answer. The responding Sim would either sort of nod or shake their head and one of their turn ons or turn offs would appear in a speech bubble above their head. You had to interpret, "Oh, that means he doesn't like my Sim's blonde hair" or whatever. *Sigh.* I miss the days when EA actually cared.

They just sampling mods into monetized expansions at this point

And the mods are way better lol like wonderful whims attraction will always be superior than whatever the sims try to offer

Honestly the romance in Wicked Whims is more in-depth than this, and actually has some of the features Carl talks about wanting, like sims sharing one attraction thing at a time.

Self woohoo option would be good for single sims. I agree.
It’s weird that EA will include poly and open relationships before they will include self gratification. They’re already pushing the T rating to the limit so they may as well add self whoohoo to the game too
@@rose13red I told my freind this and she agreed. They should have started sims 4 as rated M for mature with violence and sexual situations then ironed everything out and watered some stuff down and logically speaking the sims 4 would have done better because drama fighting relationships would have been more fluid. Think GTA saints row and red dead. Logically speaking you have to get that with mods and the T rating is smothering the game so much the ladies or not happy and EA hate mail is up the clouds.
@@Moonlight-x5z Violent stuff and sexual situation stuff already happened in Sims 1 and 2 and they were able to maintain a T rating. Woohooing is the only thing keeping the Sims in T rating now.
@@Moonlight-x5zand I think you could have had self. Woohoo without making it a mature rating. I've definitely played mods with self woohoo. And I don't think it's any different than woohoo in the game. It's just with sim self.

They added Kijiko eyelashes, MCCC copy-paste outfits and WW attractions system in base game lol
Yes. The WW attraction system works so well I'm concerned about how this will clash with it. Hopefully you can just turn it off in Game Settings and stick with Turbodriver's.
I meannnnn it's good for the people that don't want to get mods, as well as the people who play on ps4 and X-box and can't get mods.........

Amazing. A chopped part of Wedding Stories is 40 bucks that plays like an update
More weird outfits for randomly generated sims to wear. Non-stop Pear-shaped "bar regular" sims with vampire hair wearing peach suits to fill the game.
They really should let people opt out itens of being randonly generated and separate for category for people to customize

I know, there were quite a few I was like "man I'm going to have to blacklist those". I wish they'd give us a way in game to mark if we don't want something on townies or on autogenerated outfits (everyone now has a hearing aid on one random outfit)
@@luma4902 MC Command Center allows the player to do that. You can flag wearables to not generate randomly on sims, so you dont get random sims running around looking like they just busted out of some mental institution

Sims 3 always will be better than 4 in gameplay, even if they bring another 20 lazy low effort expansion packs

Yeah. I actually have Sims 4 and instead prefer to play 3. 4 is a HOT MESS. This pack is ridiculous. It feels like they released their own fan fic 😂
This kind of stuff is what I'd expect from free mods. Not an official release. It's cheap, in more ways than 1. Like, yeeeeesh 🙄
This pack is like a mishmash of a bunch of mods XD... at least some console player will experience those mods feature

10:06 It would be so much better to find out their preferences gradually…e.g., have layers of openness (for my lack of a better term) such that your sim doesn’t know everything about the target sim by asking. Should have to spend time with the target sim to find out their other preferences as you get to know them better...base the layers on the friendship/romance levels.

I'm a builder and I'm stoked for stuff but it should be a game pack and not cost 40 bucks
At this point, I much rather they split the DLC into two categories, Builder only expansion vs Gameplay focused expansion. Because this honestly does not feel enough to justify the dlc as an expansion.

well, is not like cheating worked before in the Sims 4, i feel like they are just adding an excuse for the pathetic autonomy
we as a community need to stop buying these expansions / dlc until ea/maxis realize we actually want full dlc that isnt half baked so they can milk players like remember when you had an expansion pack and it contained all the content instead of being split into 3 packs aka pets beinng split into 3 packs or the fact that super natural got split into multiple packs and on top of that the old games had so much detail and love put into it
yeah, this pack is, imo, not worth the price tag attached to it at all. there isn't that much gameplay there.

@@thepopmanbrad the last thing I've bought was snowy escape, but only because I love the fleshed out Japanese BB, after that they really lost me and I hate that I can't really play how I want because it immediately breaks the game.

I promise you a huge company like EA is not gonna care that 100 people decided not to buy the pack cuz for every 100 people that didn't buy, there was probably 1,000 more that did 🤷🏾♀️
Nobody is going to boycott in enough numbers that it will matter to EAs bottom line. Have a day off
I really don’t like the system of likes and dislikes as a series of activities and things we have to choose from. I would prefer a type of attraction.. like friendship based, based on physical aspects, based on romance or based on mischief.. just set a few options instead of choosing 20 different minor things that don’t end up affecting the game that much. The base game system for preferences seems very shallow and I’m worried this one is going to be similar

This absolutely does help! I started watching the live stream but noped out when it was just... rough. Planned to go back and watch at 2x speed but glad to not need to now. This pack is an odd one to me, I love that it FEELS very much like older sims, and it looks like it's adding a good bit of fun stuff, but that it also has a lot of content that should be basegame updates, or at very least shouldn't be a full expansion.
Some of those features are already present in Wonderful Whims and Wicked Whims.
On the jealousy front, WW give you traits like cuckold (don't get jealous, even enjoy seeing partner having an affair or having woohoo with other Sims), polyamorous (Open to have several partners, don't regard a partner having other partners as cheating) and adulterous.
Some of the new traits seems to be duplicates of traits that are available using some other mode.
By default, the woohoo skill is DISABLED. You need to enter a cheat code to enable it, or, easier, use the MCCC mod with the optional MCwoohoo component to enable it.

The thing I am excited about the most is the dating app selfies + dating a sim from the gallery, I hope that those can benefit mods and can be used in other places and are not hard coded like the high school photobooth photos.

I don’t know 🤷🏾♀️ but I feel kind of excited 😅for this pack for some reason and I am happy that we’re going to have more gameplay in the actual games that we having to download a bunch of mods.
Yeah I really want an easier to use attraction system (Wonderful Whims has an annoying period system it's hard to turn off and all of them make you click through like 5 levels to add each element plus there's no pop ups to add or change attractions) and the romance skill seems interesting especially for teens bc it means that there will be a difference between teens who start dating young and ones who don't date anyone until after college. I also like that you can set up a date that doesn't require physical intimacy for asexual Sims. But the livestream felt rushed and I don't know if they skipped anything bc it's broken.

Yipee!! It's Caaarl!!! Just finished watching the livestream video and I'm glad to see you just posted this. I definitely agree the stream couldve been better positioned camera angle and distance wise. It was hard to see the sims' reactions and then the build and buy showcase later on bec they only zoomed in for specific items and not on the showers or other bigger pieces.
Thanks EA for butchering my home language with neutral gender language I don't play The Sims anymore, but I stick with your content because you do a wonderful job 👍

Which ideas did they borrow from Turbodriver? Everything was in previous versions of Sims.
@@roseability86some of it ,yes but it was base game. They make you pay for this. Being able to change what triggers jealousy and how someone wants to express romance is taken from mods and has never been in the sims before now.

So it seems like this pack is just trying to implement a lot of the features in Wonderful Whims. And I can’t say I’m surprised considering that (and wicked whims) has been the biggest mod for the sims 4 basically since forever.

Yay... A new overpriced game pack disguised as an expansion with janky mechanics and cringey gamplay that's meant to be "hip" and totally what players want... I mean, it's good in theory but you can tell they've cut a bunch of corners with this... Where's the actual story, the real playability?

Thank you, Carl, this *was* actually really useful for me. It confirmed my decision that I'm pretty much done spending money on stuff that mods already do better. For Rent really drove home the fact that someone over in the EA organisation doesn't care how shallow their products are, or the fact that the game has bugs older than some people who play it, and I'm done paying for that. Several years too late, arguably, but unlike you I am a total build/buy nut and they kept luring me back in. :P
Only guy I trust on honest Sims reviews.
