Have you tried fishing the Grannom hatch with unweighted wet flies? I grease all but a few inches of the leader and fish mostly down stream with much success. Also a very small sinking muddler minnow fished down stream and lightly stripped upstream is very effective. The birds of prey, i agree, is good also. Ron, NE Iowa.

Loved the video guys. This was incredible. I really enjoyed how you stuck the fish at 9:07. Cool to see you spot a fish, notice he was mid column and put on an indicator and suspend the fly. That is an area of weakness for me, that I could stand to improve on. You did an incredible job of showcasing the bug, its life cycle, flies that imitate it, and what it looks like in the water and out. You guys should be proud of yourself. Super value in this video. Thanks for sharing!
Also, knowing what you guys know about bugs, what they are feeding on, and how to imitate it, really gives you a leg up on your competition. I wish I knew that kinda stuff!
Very nice job- I've been reading a lot for the past 3 years ( The Bug Book is definitely one) and like you have learned how much more there is to learn! I liked the way you interspersed some action "catching" footage- it definitely helps with my attention span!

I’m struggling but trying to learn basic concepts and so much more. I have a burning passion and would love to learn so much more and would really appreciate your help. Lots of good info. Had my butt kicked yesterday morning. Couldent pick the right fly. Was a bright sun, and they were hatching sporadically.
