While we mustered on the hanger bay. And we all watched as the second plane hit. My friend who we became close while going through bootcamp and school. She fainted. While everyone watched and didn’t move I fell out of formation on instinct. When she came through her words were my mom is in that building. Luckily my chef came and assisted her up and out. That day her mom died and we all bared witness to this. Within hours we were deployed. These memories haunt me. Those words stung. Cause she lost her mom and I lost my shipmate. She was honorable discharged to deal with the death of her mom and never seen her again.

My mom worked in a law firm that was in the first building but we lived in New Jersey and on 911 I guess she was in the subway and they stopped the trains but we couldn't get ahold of her for 4 hours bc she was in a subway tunnel w no reception and even thinking of it now my heart is just racing. I was actually in my first year of college in Miami and ended up moving home in November and not going back to school until the next fall and switching schools so i could stay living at home. That day was so traumatic and I wasn't even in the state. I also remember that I was in the gym when I saw it was her building and I ran back to my dorm and started bangining on my RA's door like she was somehow going to know something. Anyway, I just member I was totally panicked.
I'll always remember 9/11 2001 because when I got up to go to school my dad hugged me. My dad is not a hugger never has been, it was the one time in his life he saw something worth saying.

My grandmas sister “Annie” worked on the lowest level on the second building. As soon as the first building collapsed, everybody tries to run away. But then the second building collapsed and she was trying to run near the water. Some of her friends died but she was still alive with no injuries. She explained it was very traumatic and that’s why she moved here in Canada
On 9/11, my uncle was in the pentagon when the plane stuck. He had to rush and get the kids because where they hit it was where there was children. He did thankfully survive the attack and is alive today. (I was not alive back then when 9/11 happened, so I’m not entirely sure if this story that I told was all true, I am just going off what I remember my grandma telling me)
