Lawyer, Judge, Singer, Dancer, Actor, Business man, from wanting to be the richest man in the world to living a simple life in a village.. I want everything, yet I can't be bothered with anything..
No wonder I wanted to be a fashion designer, crime investigator, lawyer, interior designer, even wanted to be in a field where I can investigate about human brain and body, basically I was and still am interested in everything besides math. Took some several tests to finally know I'm an ENTP.
Lol that's how it goes. Mostly on my channel I just live my life and focus on my interest at the time. If you haven't subscribed I suggest you do. Sometimes I talk about how to focus and build supportive teams.
same here :)) I've just finished a fashion design course, participated in a fashion week, binge watch a lot of interior design youtube series, and still wonder what I will be doing next :(
Sales consultant. Or journalist. I knew I liked journalism because I went around interviewing different people. You never know what people will say or do and I love that
As a 40 year old ENTP Tech consultancy/sales has been something that has held my interest for the last 15 years. I’ve had the opportunity to focus on different innovative tech solutions within the same company every 2-3 years and it has kept my interest. As an ENTP I crave autonomy and flexibility in how I approach my role.
As an ENTP I first went to law school with goals to become an attorney. However 3 years in i felt a strong draw towards the creative industry’s and the freedom they allowed so now I am working in the film industry in artistic direction. Perfect ENTP career as there are always new projects and not much routine!
College student here, struggling to find a path to pursue. I'm a ENTP-T, and I've been DESPEREATE for some guidance. Your video gave me some great leads. :) Thank you so much!
Idk if you still need help, but I found out I'm an ENTP this year. I've been studying architecture for three years now, and I love it! I tried marketing and international business for two years, but that was boring for me. I found architecture to be a perfect mixture of what I wanted to do (create and design).
This is spot on! As a ENTP, I'ved work in law, consulting and want to end in venture capital. I've thought about studying engineering and have been super interested in real estate development. My passion project is one day to build my own house.
I’m an ENTP and I plan to double major in two completely opposing subjects, and do a lot more. It’s hard to realize that I can’t do everything I’ve wanted, but I’ll sure work hard to do most of it :)
I have had many different careers but I stumbled into real estate last year and I’ve never been happier! I love that no two days are ever the same. I meet different people and get to solve problems.
Thanks a mill for this. 1) consultant, I find people coming to me for property investment consulting a lot, even though I’m a student, so thanks for that suggestion 2) real estate development, this has been a driving force since around grade 7 and I’m strongly on my way, just got to start small 3) venture capitalists, even as a property investment student I’ve attracted a lot of potential investors who be open to invest in me lol, this all happened instinctually even before I knew what I was doing lol, so thanks for making me realize fund raising is a gift too 4) happy that you mentioning we not only solution driven and innovative at heart but systematic too because I certainly have been obsessed with learning systems to automating and manage risks in a persons business and give investors fantastic returns on investment with peace of mind. I got to love who we are as property investment ENTP’s.
Funny enough I almost decided to go to law school but couldn’t afford it so I ended up as a manger in agricultural production- for anyone who wants a mental challenge I highly recommend going into agriculture. Every couple months we change seasons and there’s always new problems to be addressed because much of what we do is based off of Mother Earth. Not many people can navigate and problem solve through all the challenges and time sensitive situations so there’s always jobs! Plus there’s ALWAYS something to learn going into new seasons- PLUS when you get bored just move to a new crop!
As an ENTP I struggled to find what makes me happy in the long run for a long time. Now it's the first time I'm truly happy working as a Tattooer since several years. In general I'm more of the artistic type. Everything about it just suits my personality: I can be spontaneous, creative, don't need a long time to plan ahead, but can also realize big, more refined projects if I want to. I've developed and am still developing my own, abstract, weird style. Additionally I meet a lot of interesting people to confront and can make my time schedule and move appointments however I want and have a lot of free and "me" time, which I can use to work on new interesting projects and topics. Also I can always improve and become better, there's just no limit, but plenty of satisfaction.
Seems to me that you figured it out. Perhaps owning a shop might be best so you still generate Income while having to me time. As you refine your style you can charge a premium for your direct time.
All my life I've been wondering what's wrong with me. I have been a consultant, paralegal, gone to law school for a while, and have ideas on real estate development/urban renewal. Because routine is the bane of my existence, I have travelled a lot, always searching and moving. I haven't taken the test yet, but I will. Thanks.
Thank you so much for this video. I needed direction to find my passion and destiny in life. I always filled an amateur role in being a life coach for my circle. I had no idea I was an ENTP until now. Thanks again for helping me on my journey to fulfillment.
I didn’t I just based my profile on things you said... will be looking into finding out for sure. BTW I sent you an email... Reached out on LinkedIn. Look forward to hearing from you. Thank you sir.
@Zero Cool Female ENTP here who has studied astrology on & off for 40 years as an amusing hobby. Astrology has multiple branches or schools, one of which is psychological astrology. One of the founders of psychological astrology was none other than Carl Jung, the inspiration for the modern MBTI. In fact Jung who was mentored by Sigmund Freud split with Freud over (among other things) a disagreement about using horoscopes as but one tool to help people figure themselves & their psychological issues out & not just the psychological theories both Freud & Jung created. Jung took inspiration for his 4 personality types 2 pairs of opposites (Sensing/INtuition, Thinking/Feeling) from the 4 elements of astrology (fire earth air & water), those 4 Jung personality types have thanks to Katharine Cook Briggs & her daughter Isobel Briggs Myers been expanded to include there are 2 more personality measures with 2 opposites (Introvert/Extrovert & Perceiving/Judging) in the MBTI (16 total possible different combinations) while in astrology it's just 3 types (cardinal, fixed or mutable) for each of the 4 classical Greek elements (fire, earth, air & water) which adds up to 12 total signs (Aries (cardinal fire) through Pisces (mutable water)). Astrology gets more complex as each body gets a sign (Sun & Moon, the luminaries, the planets, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, & Pluto, increasingly the asteroids like Chiron are studied as are points like the Ascendent, the Midheaven (the sign on the Midheaven is also often an indicator of career!), the Lunar Nodes, etc), there are interactions between the bodies & so on. You can make astrology as simple or as complex in its interpretation as you want which is why there are so many branches or schools of astrological study today and you can chart all this over the progression of time which is something the MBTI doesn't do. So many astrologers I know are also psychologists & therapists by their primary training, they use many different tools to study modern psychological problems & can advise their clients from both the psychological & astrological perspectives just as Jung set out to do in his life time. They tend to treat the 12 signs & other parts of astrology as archetypes just as the MBTI treats its 16 types as potentially useful archetypes (ENTPs are The Debaters or The Visionaries & so forth). So there's the connection between the MBTI & astrology: Carl Jung. The astrological way, particularly the psychological astrological way of approaching human problems is not as distant from the MBTI as you might imagine.
I’m a costumer. I make competition dance costumes. I love it. Clear cut start and end. Challenges when I have to make a new vision work. I talk talk talk to my clients and create close relationships. I get bored so easily and this gives me constant change!
I found out I'm an ENTP this year. I've been studying architecture for three years now, and I love it! I tried marketing and international business for two years, but that was boring for me. I found architecture to be a perfect mixture of what I want to do (create and design).
That is awesome! You most likely will have the right blend of design and profiting from design which I noticed most pure architects don't have. They tend to design outside of realistic budgets of developers and the geography they are designing in. Would love to see how your studies progress.
This is exactly what I’m going through I’m an Entp and I am majoring in marketing and find it extremely boring especially accounting I think I need to change my major.
I am an ENTP-T . i am jack of all trades. I did my degree chemical engineering and master in project management. I work in industry office and also most work as business consultant b.twn investors and bankers. I like financial analysis, investment banking , problems solving. I struggle with routine and keeping promises. I also like design and coming up new original ideas that people like and admire. I struggle wuth focus and practical details
Thank you. It really helps me to hear that I am not alone thinking I am unorganized and struggle to find my vision in life bc I lose interest so quickly. I am currently working as a start-up engineer with a process/chemical engineering masters degree. Turns out now that process/chemical engineering is a perfect subject for entp. But still, I wish I have a big goal in life!
OMG...I just started watching your videos from you appearing on someone else’s channel regarding your home health agency. And, I’m glad I watched this video because I recently discovered that I have an ENTP type personality and I’m a life path #22 and this make so much sense why I get bored with things after I’ve figured something out or completed the task and want to move on to the next thing or even why I start something, realize it’s not giving me the desired results I want and move on to something else without completing it. Lol...thank you so much for starting this channel and providing great, relevant, and consistent content!💛
Great video! I loved how the careers you talked about were different from the normal ones in these kinds of "best jobs for ENTPs" videos, and you backed them up with very good reasoning, so thank you. I'm an ENTP highschooler and I'm set on being a journalist, because it has such diversity as a career and I can choose to do any number of jobs and any number of projects, as long as they serve my main purpose of documenting current events and giving that information to the public, something I am very passionate about. That being said, I know that I tend to wander in my interests and take interest in new things somewhat obsessively for relatively short periods of time, so I take advantage of that by constantly learning new skills and coming up with new ideas. In that way, I'm not limiting myself to one thing, even if I do have a planned career path. I think it's important, especially for ENTPs, to find any job that allows them some variety. How much variety depends on what's comfortable to them. At least this is my understanding.
@@Karl__Pierre That's part of why I want to be a journalist. There's a lot of BS journalism out there and I want to fix some of that by not buying into it.
If you have a high school newspaper or journalism classes in high school you can take, go ahead & try to get staffed on it to give it a test drive (assuming you haven't already). Also if you go to college (most do) consider writing for a college newspaper even if you don't major in journalism (my college had both an official paper & an alternative one, I was close friends with the person who was the editor of the alternative paper & also an acquaintance of a classmate who was a columnist for the administration sanctioned student paper (he went on to write for TV & is a pretty famous show runner or head writer for many shows, the latest being the reboot of The Dark Crystal for Netflix, there was no journalism major so both people majored in English with a focus on writing). Journalism has so many options in what you will be covering daily, it's only downside currently is the monetary rewards, but this could change again given how there are problems with both legacy mainstream media & the weirdness that is social media. It definitely won't be boring to be in journalism in these times!
I found your you tube channel today.I am happy i did.I can feel a connection to the way you communicate and the way you describe ENTP's ways of dealing with the world.I have worked as a tv/radio journalist/reporter, human recourses professional(selection and recruitment, employee relations, employment contracts etc) also worked in corporate communications(writing articles, social media content, speeches etc). At some point i tried forex trading through a friend who was an independent trader- that did not go well. I also tried stock trading-that did not go well either and i also tried online poker- yeah..that did not go well. I always had the dream of not having to go to work. Just wanted to have enough money to pursue my many different interests.Unfortuantelty I still hbave to go to work. But i am fortunate to have a wonderful family, enough free time for my hobbies(spearfishing, free diving, cycling, table tennis, swimming, kayaking, reading, writing poetry, travelling etc) Anyway ..i like your list for ENTP careers.I would love to learn more about the Venture Capitalist career and how do you think i can utilise my experience and skills towards that direction? Also i did not understand how exactly does a VC make money? I mean i understand that a VC will find a team or a person or company trying to create a new product or service and potential investors to help the launch of the product or service. How does the VC make money and from whom ? Did you try that career? Thanks.
VCs make money from management fees on the fund usually 2-3%. But also own 20-30% if the fund. They raise capital from limited partners. Invest that money in companies. When does companies grow they sell the company and the profits from the sale is how they earn. The 2-3% management fee is just enough for their administration costs and to keep them functioning. The real money is when a portfolio company gets acquired or goes public. For example early Facebook VC investors buy 10% of Facebook for 2 million. That 10% would be worth 67 billion...with a B lol. So that's what they want. Usually 4-10X is what they get
Writer should be the first one. I'm myself a Sci-fi writer and just suits me as a glove to my hand. Also, directing businesses because allows us to outsource the detailed tasks and get focus in the big picture through the creativity. I'm the Director of my own outsourcing business. I highly recommend it.
thanks for sharing - VC matches the director role. Usually on the board of emerging companies coaching building improvising. Never considered writer. Send me some of your work curious to give it a read.
Love this, all of these are careers I have considered. Downside is most of them require lots of "formal" education. i love the channel though, glad I found this!
IMO headhunting is the holy grail. Massive income potential. Unlimited flexibility. It plays to our strengths and literally never gets boring or forces you in a box doing things we don’t feel like doing. You just do a bunch of random projects that catch your interest and your business and skillset naturally grows overtime.
I'm in the recruitment business/Healthcare staffing but independently I couldn't do it without my team. I lack the organization skills and can't stick to a routine
Yes, but how do you start on this? It seems a lot like it would be about building your professional portfolio and reputation, then executing on the trust people have in you. And that takes time. And patience. And routine. And we aren't so well prided for these things. XD Also seems like it would be easier for the typical ENTP male than an ENTP female (like myself) to be credited in this way. Thoughts? Advice? 🙂🙏
Just subscribed. Thank you for the helpful content. Took M-B test when in USAF (ENTP--extreme "E" and "T" instructor said). This video and others like it make me (and presumably many others) feel like less of a misfit. A degree in music, military vet, desk covered with books (plumbing, Carl Jung, Feynman) and taking a break from making real estate calls to leads. A recipe for never making much money, but at least life isn't routine--the cardinal sin. Thanks again.
No no you can make lots of money as long as your your efforts are in high money areas. In my opinion the VC role is perfect for an ENTP sitting with a team of entrepreneurs who are all looking to fix things many of which have gaps in their logic and also have that gift of consistency. We can see the gaps and route them on the right track them get distracted by the next team.
As an ENTP, being a lecturer/professor is also a good fit as we can choose which subjects to teach every year. Not to mention, discuss topics with students to help them understand and grow.
This is pretty funny. I actually wanted to be an attorney but ended up going into engineering. Law is not easy to make money and tied to the geography where as with software, I'm able to move around freely throughout the country or even the world
I am an 17 y/o entp, and still confuse of which field i should enter.. There s a lot of careers i d like to try, but yeah, we need to think about it really carefully as it will determine our future
You're17....and got your whole life to figure that out. Pick a career/profession that gives you a job. If you like tech go to become a software engineer. If you like people consider becoming a physicians assistant.
This is a great video, especially to those new to MBTI typing and I agree with you 100%. You're doing ENTPs a great service. I'm an ENTP (full battery Myers-Briggs testing/analysis by a consultant) and my career has settled around working in technical/engineering management after having been an engineer myself. Interestingly, I'm just over the line on the E side and have traits of both an ENTP and INTP. When I asked the consultant what that meant, they indicated that I'm great at playing whatever role is missing on the team - either as a doer or a leader. It really opened my eyes to why I was successful as a manager. In retirement, I can easily see myself being a consultant and really enjoying the varied nature of new environments, new people and new problems to solve.
shine bee well your type? Like did you take your test? You seemed like you knew what you’re we’re commenting about. So how are you not aware of such thing?
@ENTP LIFE why?? Idk cos engineering doesn't seem very appealing to me even though I'm an entp tt have considered engineering bcos I'm gd at math and science
I loved this video! More than I anything I found myself laughing at the end because I made a list of 5 careers that may suit me being ENTP and 4/5 of the careers you said were on my list! I feel more reassured im doing the right thing right now which is a real estate agent earning my finance degree at the same time.
thank you so much ... i lived in different cities, different courses ... languages ... very difficult to focus I point out geography, politics, detective and psychology in problem solving ideas.
I hope so lol The intention was to provide a channel for the world to observe an entp in action from day to day. The change in topics, communication style, logic etc
Thank you for light up my mind by letting me know I’m not weird not alone. And I do find myself very comfortable in my current career - Legal. And really really disconnecting with irrational discussion, hate irrational person (/not willing to improve themselves). You can do anything you want as long as that’s not affect me.
I don't think so, might get bored of the general ed classes, but the engineering side should keep you entertained. Do your best to rapidly push through the general crap so your focus is on the things that stimulate you.
Female ENTP here, I thought the one biomedical engineering class I took in college was cool, we studied artificial hearts & left ventricular assist devices or LVADs. But realize that you can switch up your career a little (or a lot) over time, I think ENTPs are out ahead on the career curve as we're pretty flexible & adaptable when we need to be.
This is right on. I invest in real estate as a side gig, work in software engineering for 15+ years, wanted to go to law schools for years (regret I didn't), and also had a consulting business. The VC thing isn't for me because I don't enjoy going around pitching to raise money. Love intellectual debates. That's a typical ENTP trait.
Also I haven't met too many women who are ENTPs wonder how gender roles are accepted or rejected. Do you find yourself ever doing "gender appropriate" for things that contrast with your tendency to reject convention?
Female ENTP here one of my past careers was patent law. If you still want to go to law school, many law schools are looking for non-traditional students, especially people who aren't in their 20s & just out of college. Other career experience is a plus to law school admissions committees. Patent law in particular is very short on people who can file & understand software / computer patents, both those who represent the inventors as well as examiners in the US Patent & Trademark Office (they are the people who decide whether or not to issue a patent for a particular invention & determine that patent's scope). Many patent law programs have night classes & you can keep doing your day job & take 4 years to get your JD degree rather than 3 years for the full-time law student. You might want to check around with companies & see if they will pay for you to get a JD if you agree to work for them as a patent attorney (I had several friends in the oil & related businesses who got their law degrees paid for this way). You don't necessarily have to work for the same corporation forever, but you might be able to fulfill your attorney dream in this way.
TY for this I am INFJ married to a ENTP…He walked away from 10 yrs NP position infectious diseases and I want to provide him with as much support as I can. Great Video!
Great advice for aspects of careers that fit with an ENTP temperament! I will say as an ENTP and an engineer the theoretical fit works from what you described, but working in a company, large or small, can often pull the engineer into many clerical and bureaucratic responsibilities. Everything else you indicated, including the relationship to money was spot on. Will say, in general, entrepreneurship has always been very appealing as long as the operating responsibilities eventually become the purview of a manager other than myself so I can go research the next opportunity and execute on my vision.
Exactly. The corporate machine will drain any entp but the work and theory is what's attractive to an ENTP. Thanks for adding texture to the video with your personal take.
That's ok just make sure you have enough capital to hire staff that is consistent or you get to cash flow positive within your attention period and again hire staff to maintain.
ENTP LIFE Your test results “The Consul” Type “The Consul” (ESFJ-A) Traits Extraverted - 69% Observant - 63% Feeling - 76% Judging - 65% Assertive - 85% Role Sentinel Strategy People Mastery I retired 10 years ago, but would like to possibly do a side hustle. This test was spot on!
Software developer seems closest to me but my real goal is to work in game dev, to oversee a team of specialists in different departments, facilitate communication, solve problems that arise between and inside these, help every person on the team to make the most out of their skills and contribute to a wonderful end result. I want this bc I got good taste and am create in art too but don't have the patience to do things from start to finish myself, much better when working with someone by giving out input, corrections, suggestions etc. There's a real synergic effect there, I've noticed and been told
Going to need significant startup capital or build to a minimally viable product yourself so that you can sell or earn enough capital for that team or get hired into a role at a company that builds internal startups
@@Karl__Pierre engineering, specifically biomedical engineering but everyone says I should be a lawyer (which I kinda agree with) although sometimes I feel I’m not smart enough....regardless, I think it’s something I’d really enjoy (biomed)
Cool. Do both be an engineer gain experience there, intern at a VC firm that invests in something your engineering background allows you to be an asset during due diligence when the integrity of the product is under question.
Entp here. Software engineer has been fun but only in jobs where i dont have to stay in my lane. I love to problem solve and connect people. Il ove the big picture planning for the team and making improvements to the workflow. I love starting projects and handing them off to others to finish. But once things work smoothly and everyone has a lane, i get bored and restless, so i often switch jobs to find new chaos that needs me and my ability to problem solve and create order. After a fifteen year career of this i am now even bored with that because after while the problems all look alike. So i am prepping to move up the ladder so i can become a cio in a small company and touch on everything at the big picture level.
Perfect examples for this ENTP type! Thanks for sharing your ideas for my MBTI channel. I saw your video thumbnail through my RUclips algorithm today, yay! 😊😊😊
I wish if i sow this before getting to college now I am studying medicine I don't know if I took the right choice i choose this field to get to do more reserch with better understanding of human body to help people i was having a clear vision of my future and now I'm kinda lost I just can't keep up with that in the same time I really enjoy and love what Iam studying but I don't know if it's the right thing for me iam in the 2nd year and iam 21year old Iam happy to see this Iam not alone thank you
Finish it. Here's why. It will buy you respect and job opportunities. You're still young and by securing employment that pays above average that's always in demand you will have a base to always return to if one of your other paths don't work. FINISH
I come here bcs I'm an ENTP project manager which you know, make a Gantt chart timeline & schedule for every role on the project. Before this, my test result usually told me that I'm ENTJ, since my answers show my perception of the urge of timeline & breaking down the target. But I rarely feel relate with it's explanation/parodies. I wonder "is most of project manager are ENTJs? But here I found that ENTP could be anything haha.
ENTP/ENFP here! Started out in the world of Dance, then got my MA in mental health counseling, worked with at risk youth in juvi. Now I am considering opening up a dueling piano bar and have discovered a newfound interest in Functional & Energy Medicine. I think my absolute dream job would be working with African wildlife and singing professionally, but locally. The one thing that I don't like about being an ENTP/ENFP is the scatterbrain. At the same time though I have the ability to hyper focus on things that excite me. It's just nice knowing that we're not alone. ❤️❤️❤️
So entertaining, I would say you're most likely an entp...and don't take offense to this but as a woman the F tends to be the byproduct of hormonal response. My wife is a consistent enfp and she certainly doesn't have that range of possibilities the way i do and other entps like you. Again please don't be offended just an observation.
Thanks. There's a few things I am consistent with and that is creating. Since this is basically me living my life documented I'm sure I will consistently be me and keep sharing haha. No worries there.
I'm an RN , busy inpatient unit. Varied days, long shifts, always moving, and it's all problem solving and idea sharing, advocating and challenging others
@Karl__Pierre I also ride motorcycles, lots of renovation work and volunteer with Habitat in home construction. I have an extensive perennial garden and I hike and camp. And cook/bake
5. Yes 4. Yes 3. Not really, but yes 2. Kind of specific. Oh, this is your current job. 1. Ok and this is you dream job. I'd rather be a stand up comedian.
@@Karl__Pierre I always did better in the moment than I did with material. I only went twice in my adult life. The problem was I wanted to be "real" you know. I didn't want it to be a performance (although ENTP can perform, can act, no problem.) You have to perform material you can't just go to that moment because honestly it's no longer funny to you because you said 100 times. I didn't get that. I aspired to be too much too soon and my material was flat even though I can write great material.
ENTP-T, got my Chemistry major about a month and a half ago. Hopelessly in love with the amount of stuff there is to learn on this field, not to mention the delightful challenges of research! Chemistry is not all formulas - it's questions, it's answers, it's ideas, it's creativity ✨
@@moebius5396 I totally get it. I hated it in college but now trying to understand the universe and the laws it's regulated by is what interest me space time theory particularly
This video is amazing! I've done nearly all of those things at one point or another, other than engineering, and I wanna learn that next after massage therapy lol
I'm an ENTP. And I am starting to study communication; I've always liked writing and doing things with verbal expression (oral and written) so thinking to study Journalism. I dislike, as you say, being stuck to a routine or a determined process rather than my own... So that's why I like being a freelance writer or maybe get into working into Editorials. What's your augury for a ENTP in the world of words instead of the jobs you mentioned?
As a sophomore, I’m currently having a dilemma to decide which one I make as major and minor between Risk Management and Entrepreneurship. The Risk Management program here is very high ranked but I also feel I don’t wanna do that forever and my ultimate interest is being an entrepreneur. At the same time, I found the risk management a safety net for me since entrepreneurship is very risky 😂
I like routine tasks, up and until I find an easier, faster, better way to do it. Doing accountancy work, it's all about finding the bad stuff / problems hidden in the company's financials; so I think forensic accounting would be a fun job for ENTPs. Numbers are fun and so easy to understand, compared to people. I'm channelling Ben Affleck in his movie The Accountant (?)
I'm an ENTP and... I'm mechanical design engineer with a university degree in computer science( I know weird). I like what I do for work but I kinda got bored . So I watched this video and first two carrers are mechanical engineer and software engineer, I guess I'm in the right place 😅
Officers in the military - in particular the Army - I'm one myself... It's challenging, requires (often quick) great analytic skills and problem solving are valuable features for an officer.
@@Karl__Pierre As an officer it's rarely a routine... but the military life at all levels is very varied - try to look into it, and not just from movies ;)
Im a Product Development Engineer and Inventor. I was always making trash into product since a kid. I debate over everything too a fault and now I tend to pull back cause friction is not always lucrative😁 being agreeable is easy when you know how to piss people off
Im an ENTP without the gift of the gab, it resulted from my slight narcissism (caring too much how good I look) leading to self consciousness and overthinking everything. Also while I do love talking to people I only like associating with really high IQ individuals so naturally I don't connect with most people.
ENTP here. I’ve done a few of those career roles. I’m currently trying to break into (tech) Product Management (PM). In watching a lot of other PM’s talk about their careers, one theme I’ve noticed is that almost none of them have “linear” career paths. Also the role is usually described as “cat herding” and well suited for “Jack/Jill of all trades” types since you touch so many parts of the org. It makes me wonder how many existing PMs are ENTPs. My suspicion is that we’re over represented in the field. 🤞
i'm confuse with which career path should i take..i want to be a lawyer, pr manager, sales manager, venture capitalist, actor, and business woman. i am 17 and still cannot decide on which course should i take for my uni
Keyword here is you're 17....focus on being 17 with more exposure and life experience you will start to figure out what you will enjoy doing, what can hold you focus.
I have gotten ENTP and I have gotten other results when I took the Myers briggs three times in my life. The first time I took it I got INFJ ENTP and finally ENTJ. Why do you think I have gotten different results?
Take the long form test and answer honestly. Could be that you took the test provided by an employer or school so you answered based on how you wanted to be perceived rather than how you are. Or you took a short form exam.
ENTP here who when I was studying & practiced law scored a bit more ENTJ on taking the long form a second time, it's not unheard of to be right on the line for one of the 4 traits (in my case perceiving versus judging is my almost equal strength trait). Earlier when I was studying to be a virologist, I scored a little more ENTP. Retook the test again after my law career & it's more ENTP again
Hi Karl, Ian an Entp and I enjoyed watching you video. It makes all sense to me. How about being stock / forex trader? Do you think it could be a good fit for Entp. Trading is also require a problem solving skill. But once you know the strategy you must be able to follow thru by applying focus and displine. I found it hard to stay displined for a long time when I was trading. I found your idea of being a VC à very good idea indeed. I was contemplating being like Warren Buffet. Which is not different from a VC. Thank you very much for the video. Brilliant.
I am not a fan of forex. I had this conversation yesterday with my cousin. A lot of forex marketers now selling that dream of making major money. With that said trading stocks or forex can be a good career choice. Just know its highly volatile and requires discipline. VC's are much different than Warren Buffet. Warren invest in business for growth and long term dividends. VC's are investing in early stage companies and fueling the growth for an eventual major payday in the form of a public offering or acquisition.
@@Karl__Pierre thank you very much Karl your quick reply. I totally agree with you on displine point. And this is like death sentence in trading. I also agree with your when you said that VC are different from W Buffet Strategy. But as you said creativity is more in demand in VCs than in Warren Buffet model. Thank you very much for that lead. I'm an entrepreneur. But yet to make a big break. Thank you for the VC lead. It is now on the top of my list.
I know this is weird but ive been typed as infj a lot of the times and recently i got entp. I relate to both of them which is weird. Whats your personal take on that?
Depends on the test. Infjs and ENTPs pair well as people how they think etc. Except they are opposites in behavior and how they approach decision making. Take a long form test and answer as you are not as you want to be perceived and your results get more accurate
Your Probably and INTJ if you skipped to the end of the video to find the #1 Ranked job for you and then proceeded to create a plan for how you would achieve that career goal.
This video was extra loud for me. I’m a construction management major, business admin minor & and law school candidate…. All 5 of these careers are in the scope of my dreams.

ENTP Here. I’m currently a physics major with three minors in math, economics, and data science. ENTP explains everything lololol
Yup

I swear dual majoring was invented by entps.
As an ENTP engineer, I love analyzing and solving problems but, I struggle with all the required documentation.
Sounds about right you might need an assistant that excels in that area as well as the details.
Sales consultant. Or journalist. I knew I liked journalism because I went around interviewing different people. You never know what people will say or do and I love that
fun!
Thank you for adding texture to the video with your own insight and experience!
As an ENTP I first went to law school with goals to become an attorney. However 3 years in i felt a strong draw towards the creative industry’s and the freedom they allowed so now I am working in the film industry in artistic direction. Perfect ENTP career as there are always new projects and not much routine!
EXACTLY. Yeah law school could be boring but the practice if in the right practice could be entertaining.
I can relate so much as I jus decided this week that I don’t want to go to law school. What do you do exactly I’m really interested?
This is me!!! I want to be an IP lawyer but now I'm considering acting lol
Do NOT go to law school. I went to law school and I regret wasting my time

Glad I could help!
Hii

It's pretty interesting
Adam Savage is a very interesting ENTP.
Idk if you still need help, but I found out I'm an ENTP this year. I've been studying architecture for three years now, and I love it! I tried marketing and international business for two years, but that was boring for me. I found architecture to be a perfect mixture of what I wanted to do (create and design).
Any success in getting something rolling yet?
This is spot on! As a ENTP, I'ved work in law, consulting and want to end in venture capital. I've thought about studying engineering and have been super interested in real estate development. My passion project is one day to build my own house.
Haha Awesome - seems typical of us!
I’m an ENTP and I plan to double major in two completely opposing subjects, and do a lot more. It’s hard to realize that I can’t do everything I’ve wanted, but I’ll sure work hard to do most of it :)
Thats all you can do.
I have had many different careers but I stumbled into real estate last year and I’ve never been happier! I love that no two days are ever the same. I meet different people and get to solve problems.
That is awesome! What state?
Thanks a mill for this.
1) consultant, I find people coming to me for property investment consulting a lot, even though I’m a student, so thanks for that suggestion
2) real estate development, this has been a driving force since around grade 7 and I’m strongly on my way, just got to start small
3) venture capitalists, even as a property investment student I’ve attracted a lot of potential investors who be open to invest in me lol, this all happened instinctually even before I knew what I was doing lol, so thanks for making me realize fund raising is a gift too
4) happy that you mentioning we not only solution driven and innovative at heart but systematic too because I certainly have been obsessed with learning systems to automating and manage risks in a persons business and give investors fantastic returns on investment with peace of mind.
I got to love who we are as property investment ENTP’s.
Haha yup
Funny enough I almost decided to go to law school but couldn’t afford it so I ended up as a manger in agricultural production- for anyone who wants a mental challenge I highly recommend going into agriculture. Every couple months we change seasons and there’s always new problems to be addressed because much of what we do is based off of Mother Earth. Not many people can navigate and problem solve through all the challenges and time sensitive situations so there’s always jobs! Plus there’s ALWAYS something to learn going into new seasons- PLUS when you get bored just move to a new crop!
Haha sounds interesting
Thanks.
Let me know the results
I'm an ENTP and I ❤️ problem solving. I literally find pretty much anything else either too boring or too hard 😅
haha totally get it
Thank you so much for this video. I needed direction to find my passion and destiny in life. I always filled an amateur role in being a life coach for my circle. I had no idea I was an ENTP until now. Thanks again for helping me on my journey to fulfillment.

Just make sure you stay authentic and don't sell out o mainstream media
But i am fortunate to have a wonderful family, enough free time for my hobbies(spearfishing, free diving, cycling, table tennis, swimming, kayaking, reading, writing poetry, travelling etc)
Anyway ..i like your list for ENTP careers.I would love to learn more about the Venture Capitalist career and how do you think i can utilise my experience and skills towards that direction?
Usually 4-10X is what they get
@@Karl__Pierre thank you! Do you recommend a book or course on VC?
William Randolph Hearst. Nuff said.

Love this, all of these are careers I have considered. Downside is most of them require lots of "formal" education. i love the channel though, glad I found this!
All things can be learned and if you learn them and apply them well you will surpass those with formal education
XD
Also seems like it would be easier for the typical ENTP male than an ENTP female (like myself) to be credited in this way.
Thoughts? Advice?
For sure - just not a fan of reviewing homework on my free time
I manage an engineering department at a biotech startup, but never spent a day in college. Crazy…but fun!
Haha nice
This is pretty funny. I actually wanted to be an attorney but ended up going into engineering. Law is not easy to make money and tied to the geography where as with software, I'm able to move around freely throughout the country or even the world
You're an ENTP as well?
Yes. I believe entp-a but I haven't taken the test in a while.
Wow so I picked the perfect careers as an engineer, they both seem very interesting and fun so I've been gearing up to tackle it.
Go for it!

The raising money is a necessary evil of VC but working with entrepreneurs and developing ideas is the exciting part.
Also I haven't met too many women who are ENTPs wonder how gender roles are accepted or rejected. Do you find yourself ever doing "gender appropriate" for things that contrast with your tendency to reject convention?
@@Karl__Pierre It's true. My cousin is a VC and I enjoy hearing the pitch stories from the startup she funds and interviews.
What does he want to do?
Wow, so much of what you described as ENTP traits are ADHD traits!
I’m both!
Typical lol
I really can’t keep my interest more than one year, but still I think I should start my own business that what I really want to do
That's ok just make sure you have enough capital to hire staff that is consistent or you get to cash flow positive within your attention period and again hire staff to maintain.
Venture Capitalist is 100% spot on for ENTP. It's logical and always different which enhances deep curiosity of any kind of biz

@@Karl__Pierre engineering, specifically biomedical engineering but everyone says I should be a lawyer (which I kinda agree with) although sometimes I feel I’m not smart enough....regardless, I think it’s something I’d really enjoy (biomed)
@@60sbabydoll777 I suppose but I personally would get turned off by the reading. Too much reading in law.
@@Karl__Pierre exactly! that’s why I want to go into something more science related to avoid all the boring stuff plus I like science a lot :)
Weird I want to actually be a forensic investigator
Yeah could be fun. Different problems to solve clues to crack
ENTP engineer here !
just had my diploma and am watching this
I think am changing the career ... VC seems interesting
Makes sense
Perfect examples for this ENTP type! Thanks for sharing your ideas for my MBTI channel. I saw your video thumbnail through my RUclips algorithm today, yay! 😊😊😊
Nice will check it out.
I need you as a mentor. You give off so much good energy.
Thank you for the compliment I do consultant and mentor. Let me know.
I wish if i sow this before getting to college now I am studying medicine I don't know if I took the right choice i choose this field to get to do more reserch with better understanding of human body to help people i was having a clear vision of my future and now I'm kinda lost I just can't keep up with that in the same time I really enjoy and love what Iam studying but I don't know if it's the right thing for me iam in the 2nd year and iam 21year old
Iam happy to see this Iam not alone thank you
Finish it. Here's why. It will buy you respect and job opportunities. You're still young and by securing employment that pays above average that's always in demand you will have a base to always return to if one of your other paths don't work. FINISH
@@Karl__Pierre thank you I will 💕
I come here bcs I'm an ENTP project manager which you know, make a Gantt chart timeline & schedule for every role on the project. Before this, my test result usually told me that I'm ENTJ, since my answers show my perception of the urge of timeline & breaking down the target. But I rarely feel relate with it's explanation/parodies. I wonder "is most of project manager are ENTJs? But here I found that ENTP could be anything haha.
You may have learned the skill of timeliness and benefits of order but may still fundamentally be an entp
ENTP here. Work in Health and Safety. Enjoy accident investigation.
haha yup solving a problem and showing who is at fault!
Great content! If you are consistent i'm going to keep subscribing
Thanks. There's a few things I am consistent with and that is creating. Since this is basically me living my life documented I'm sure I will consistently be me and keep sharing haha. No worries there.
Did you mean stay subscribed or?
I'm an RN , busy inpatient unit. Varied days, long shifts, always moving, and it's all problem solving and idea sharing, advocating and challenging others
And you're an entp?
@@Karl__Pierre you betcha! Are you in doubt?
@Lauren L just asking as there are alot of INFJ and ENFJ nurses and not many female entps in the world in general.
@Karl__Pierre I also ride motorcycles, lots of renovation work and volunteer with Habitat in home construction. I have an extensive perennial garden and I hike and camp. And cook/bake
5. Yes
4. Yes
3. Not really, but yes
2. Kind of specific. Oh, this is your current job.
1. Ok and this is you dream job. I'd rather be a stand up comedian.
Somewhat accurate, what I stated from the opening... top 5 for ENTPs as I see it.
Also do you currently do standup?
@@Karl__Pierre only in the office
@@DrDeathpwnsu gotta hit the stage Chad!
Chemistry is not all formulas - it's questions, it's answers, it's ideas, it's creativity ✨
agreed was my favorite science, recently more intrigued by physics
@@Karl__Pierre physics is also fascinating, just too theoretical for me! I prefer being the mad scientist in the lab 😂
@@moebius5396 I totally get it. I hated it in college but now trying to understand the universe and the laws it's regulated by is what interest me space time theory particularly
This video is amazing! I've done nearly all of those things at one point or another, other than engineering, and I wanna learn that next after massage therapy lol
Hahahaha go for it!!!
As an ENTP it's so easy to go insane
Hahahaha I'm not sure if we go insane but insanity is certainly part of our life
Considering which med speciality I want to pursue and Im thinking surgery. I thrive on novelty
I think that's a good fit especially if you start to create new devices
Just found out I'm ENTP which always adore the idea of being INFJ though. Well, I started my own recruitment agency at 23
Nice are you still working on it? Email me at info@entplife.com we maybe able to work together.
I think as long as you are free and able to create you will be happy. Stay freelance and or create a platform to share your perspective.
Go with entrepreneurship
And start a business while in college
I like routine tasks, up and until I find an easier, faster, better way to do it. Doing accountancy work, it's all about finding the bad stuff / problems hidden in the company's financials; so I think forensic accounting would be a fun job for ENTPs. Numbers are fun and so easy to understand, compared to people. I'm channelling Ben Affleck in his movie The Accountant (?)
Totally agree!
Good idea starters, but not enough puns. Overall 5/7 solid
Lol thanks
I'm an ENTP and... I'm mechanical design engineer with a university degree in computer science( I know weird). I like what I do for work but I kinda got bored . So I watched this video and first two carrers are mechanical engineer and software engineer, I guess I'm in the right place 😅
sounds about right
Officers in the military - in particular the Army - I'm one myself... It's challenging, requires (often quick) great analytic skills and problem solving are valuable features for an officer.
Never thought of that. Since the military can be so routine.
@@Karl__Pierre As an officer it's rarely a routine... but the military life at all levels is very varied - try to look into it, and not just from movies ;)
I want to be a movie director a editeror, movie actor artist 👩🏼🎨, or voice actor animater, even youtuber
Do it!
Im a Product Development Engineer and Inventor. I was always making trash into product since a kid. I debate over everything too a fault and now I tend to pull back cause friction is not always lucrative😁 being agreeable is easy when you know how to piss people off
Have to evolve for your own benefit
"We loose focus when we loose interest". Omg exactly!
Yup
Im an ENTP without the gift of the gab, it resulted from my slight narcissism (caring too much how good I look) leading to self consciousness and overthinking everything. Also while I do love talking to people I only like associating with really high IQ individuals so naturally I don't connect with most people.
Thank you for sharing
Most likely especially if we have assistants in the role to keep us on target.
A healthy detachment of money and view it as a means to achieve a goal.
Thanks for sharing
i'm confuse with which career path should i take..i want to be a lawyer, pr manager, sales manager, venture capitalist, actor, and business woman. i am 17 and still cannot decide on which course should i take for my uni
Keyword here is you're 17....focus on being 17 with more exposure and life experience you will start to figure out what you will enjoy doing, what can hold you focus.

Awesome thanks for sharing!
all entp lets be friends :))) i dont feel alone anymore woth my ideas... i miss people like me around myself bc everyone arpund me crushes my ideas :(
Got a friend here if you want
Retook the test again after my law career & it's more ENTP again
just flat out nuts 😂that's a line all entps can relate
lol
Hi Karl,
Ian an Entp and I enjoyed watching you video.
I'm an ENTP drop-out, highly recommended
Hahaha
I know this is weird but ive been typed as infj a lot of the times and recently i got entp. I relate to both of them which is weird. Whats your personal take on that?
Depends on the test. Infjs and ENTPs pair well as people how they think etc. Except they are opposites in behavior and how they approach decision making. Take a long form test and answer as you are not as you want to be perceived and your results get more accurate
I’m an emergency department social worker in a metro area. It’s the perfect job for an ENTP who was law school bound but had a baby young.
Constant change and thinking
If your wondering if your an ENTP, a good sign you are, is if you were imagining how you could do all of these careers instead of just 1 in specific.
Your Probably and INTJ if you skipped to the end of the video to find the #1 Ranked job for you and then proceeded to create a plan for how you would achieve that career goal.
Lol
This video was extra loud for me. I’m a construction management major, business admin minor & and law school candidate…. All 5 of these careers are in the scope of my dreams.
Thanks Yasmine
