  • This saw was provided by Evolution Power Tools for me to review. It is part of their new cordless range. In the review I demonstrate the features of the saw and show the multi purpose blade cutting various materials in a workshop environment. I think that this is a great saw.

    Thankyou for a great review!…I have a 110 volt mitre saw from evolution,I’ve had it 3 years,I’m a carpenter snd I use it regularly.it still works as good as the day I brought it,I have been waiting patiently for evolution to produce a battery mitre saw…at last another epic product by evolution,and I’m grateful to you for a fantastic fully comprehensive review!…my next toy(tool buy)..kind regards Adrian(I’ve been a professional carpenter for 32 years,and love well made-reasonable priced tools because it costs enough to replace tools-especially if they get stolen-painful.

      I love the new saw Adrian, it is a real pleasure to use. My main saw is the R255SMS, but I can see me using this on my work bench for smaller cuts! :-)

    Hi , I bought the corded R185+ on your recommendation a year ago . Love it . Will definitely upgrade to this model . All my other tools are Dewalt cordless , but their 'budget' mitre saws don't cut trenches . Thanks .

    A problem I’ve had with it is the base moves a lot when you change the degrees from say 0 to 45 and I can’t get a square straight cut without a lot of adjustments

    • @RussellPlatten
      @RussellPlatten  10 месяцев назад

      There should be no movement on the table or the cutting head. Set the saw up for a cut and tighten the handle. Check for movement on table and the cutting head. If there is no movement, release the locking handle and move the saw left and right checking for looseness. If the table is loose and not smooth, there is a nut underneath the table. Tighten the nut to remove any looseness, ensuring that the table still moves smoothly. Then check the cutting head to make sure it is smooth and not loose. There is a nut on the back you can adjust for this. If there is nothing obviously wrong with the saw, contact Evolution support : evolutionpowertools.com/uk/contact/a/
      I hope this helps. :-)

    Russell, great videos. Can you show a video of how to take the cutting head off the two rails please.

    • @RussellPlatten
      @RussellPlatten  Год назад

      Hi Richard. If you go to 3:34 on this video: ruclips.net/video/dh_Dfubu5j4/видео.html and look closely, you can see a hole in the cutting head with the silver rod showing through. When the cutting head clicks into place the pin on the rod pops into this hole. It is the same on the opposite side too. To remove the cutting head find something to push in the pin whilst gently pulling the cutting head backwards (lock the sliding rail to stop it from moving). It only needs to move very slightly to stop the pin from popping back out. Do the same on the other side, making sure the first pin does not pop back in and the head will pull off. 2:10 on the video will show how to reset the pins and give you a better idea of how the pins work. I hope this helps! :-)

    The problem I see with these battery tools is how do you recycled the batteries where ever you go in the world Evo should make it that you can ship these batteries back to them no matter where you take their tools this should be the same for all brands of tools not just evo

    • @RussellPlatten
      @RussellPlatten  2 года назад

      Our local council will take batteries for recycle. They pick them up on recycle day and ask that we leave them in a bag on top of the recycle bin. :-)
