It also has fewer compressor turbine blades. Saying a turboprop uses a jet engine is like saying a Chevy pickup has an engine like a top fuel dragster.
The flight track of this single engine Pilatus is indicative of loss of autopilot after entering convective weather. The autopilot will not be able to be reactivated if the aircraft encountered turbulent weather or icing. All pilots are trained on how to hand fly and rely on instruments. This pilot wasted too much time trying to reengage the autopilot instead of FLYING THE PLANE. Sadly this will probably be pilot error since even if there was an engine problem plenty of altitude and wide open spaces to glide this to a safe landing.

It wasn't because it only had one engine that it crashed. NTSB is investigating why the pilot lost control of the aircraft at 26000ft.
