photoshp never really made this an automatic feature like targeting a png or object and text automatically wrapping around it. editing is not so fast and easy.

Is this only on old versions of Photoshop? I keep drawing the shape with the Pen Tool and then go to select the Text Tool and it never has the circle around it. I'm able to make the text follow the path, but not fit within it. Would love some help. Thanks in advance.
