I think I have a new favorite car. I haven’t been a big Aston guy for the last decade but in the last couple years I’ve become more and more impressed and now we’re to the point where my top 2 favorite cars are Aston Martins. More beautiful than anything on the road inside and out, twin turbo V12!, and no roof? Yes please.
I hope the people that buy this car drive it and not flip it 5 years from now as a investment purchase , people 10 years from now will watch this video and really appreciate what automobiles were once was.. Great video 👏👏
You possibly appear to prefer driving at moderate speeds in that vehicle because of the direct correlation between increased speed and decreased capacity to respirate and thereby remain alive
Absolutely gorgeous. I'd be driving in a colour matching helmet with a tinted visor. I can see an Aston Martin Speedster brand of accessories. Helmet (Fullface and old school), Jacket , Overalls, Boots. Gloves, Scarfs, Goggles, Sunglasses
The class it belongs to is: *sports car* Defined by SCCA as a ground-up no top or soft top 2 seat design with motorsports racing power. Very few modern sports cars exist. Jaguar F-Type, Ferrari Monza, McLaren Elva.
the interior and maybe even the outside is more beautiful than the Ferrari Monza in my opinion but these cars about the sound and that doesn't even compare to the Ferrari it seems...
We wanted to ask, because I whored myself out to Aston-Martin, what's it like to drive a Monza SP2 with a different badge and a smaller price tag. I also have to pretend that I don't know the aero-bridge is for structural rigidity and that they didn't exactly copy Ferrari for using the air redirected up as a sort of wind screen. Imagine all the water spray, dirt and bird droppings falling into my car.
Interesting observation. It looks to be built on the current Vantage platform yet has the V12 out of the DB11. Is this a prelude to the next V12 Vantage?
It's not being drowned out by the wind. The mic is designed to filter out any noise that isn't his voice. Aston exhausts always sound great turbo or not.
These hyper speedsters are such cool ideas, shame that wind noise blocks audible experience from the engine at speeds. That’s a major part of the experience, especially in a car like this. Manufacturers need to engineer a solution that allows the engine to be heard by the driver
This car is so very English. Because only the English would build a gorgeous, wildly powerful supercar in a way that guarantees the last place you'd ever want to own it is in....England. ;)
It's what we do best Caterham Radical Ariel Lotus Plus any other classic British sports car you care to mention. Totally inappropriate for our weather but we just put a coat on and man up. Road spray keeps you awake for sure.
oh man come on didn't they put a gopro in the middle of the car? to see the trunk on the road and curves? taking advantage of the particularity of the car ...
Of course it’s a beautiful piece of machinery and an exciting experience but using helmet is absolutely a must in high speed! just an small stone from a passing car can be as deadly as a bullet!
I would have much preferred if the design had used the legendary DBR1 as inspiration rather than looking like the Ferrari Monza or the Mercedes Sterling Moss Mille tribute roadster.
Will be for those collectors and others in hotter climbs. Ugly square steering wheel…still! Having driven the DBS, I hope this is more nimble! It s certainly more visually challenged.
My thought is what happens when you are driving without a helmet and a stone flicks up and hits your face. Given the damage to a windscreen. I think it would most likely kill the driver or passenger. Could be the shortest lived emotional experience. If I had £800k to be a collectible Aston it would be an original DB5. Not an bad rendition of the face listen Vantage without a roof or windscreen. In fact James your DBS is far more beautiful and the noise which you can hear is so incredible. So this car and others in the same Vane are equally pointless. Back to my original point: How long before the billionaire who bought one of these is killed by a stone. Thoughts?
I sometimes ride with an open face motorbike helmet but anything much over 50mph is horrendous, I had a bee hit my cheek at about 45mph and the pain plus the mark it left looked like I’d been shot by a BB Gun. I get visceral experiences are great but protect your melon.
If you are that rich, you have your very experienced detail team wash it for you. I doubt anyone rich enough to own one of those has ever washed anything in their life. From a cup, to a shirt and especially a car.
@@clifbradley no, I get that, and I’ll probably never be able to afford such a car (or want one even if I could), but I was interested in how one would physically go about washing it.
@@ArKritz84 You get it PPF'd, then when it gets dirty you take some rinseless detail spray and spray that on there and wipe it off. You could only wash these by hand and that is why they are probably PPF'd then have ceramic coating on top of that so that any dirt really can't stick, and the stuff that does stick gets a pass through with a damp sponge and a microfiber cloth. That being said, the leather is resistant to spotting, the floor is rubberized, the electronics are sealed with thick gaskets, and the fabric in the car is angled downward to the floor, so any liquid that gets in there, goes down to the rubber floor and can be soaked up.
BRILLIANT ! Aston Martin have Nailed It ! The fact that they are only gonna do 88 of these Absolutely Delightful Machines is what will keep these holding increasing value far into the future. I love the styling cues of the 1950's DB1 and its almost as if they want to attract another crop of Stirling Quality Racing Drivers to this as they did back then. Awesome ! :)
Does anyone need a windscreen less supercar? No Does taking the windscreen and roof away make the car worse to drive, especially in the UK? Undoubtedly Should either of those points matter? Not a bit of it, petrol heads everywhere should rejoice that large company's are making stupid cars like this. Also boads well for a future V12 Vantage if they have gone to the trouble of mashing the architecture together.
I love how all these car channels never, ever show the interior and instruments for more than a brief moment. It must be an industry-wide agreement. First rave on about how nice it looks inside and then make sure you don't film any of it except a brief look at a seat badge if you really, really have to. Much more important of course to mention the presenter's sunglasses than get a look at the twin turbo V12 under the bonnet. *priorities*
McLaren, Aston, Ferrari etc all do it to plug gaps in cash flow and boost the underlying profitability of the company. Lots of them don’t have any choice if the finance providers expect certain returns per annum
The "aero bridge" is actually for structural rigidity!
wouldn't want to bang the side of my bonce on it. Basically it's from the Batmobile.
I'd like to see a vote on which is preferred - (a) 3-d printer rubber emblems, or (b) manually stitched emblems

Driving without a helmet seems unsafe, can get hit with stones thrown off by the cars ahead.
That’s why DDE wear them in the Aperta.
Yeah, if you drive this car without a helmet I’m gonna start questioning your intelligence.
