  • This common garden plant and culinary herb has a wealth of uses in magical workings.
    I apologize in advance for sound quality issues- not only is there wind but one of my neighbors apparently started doing something with power equipment partway through. If I had waited for conditions to be perfect the video would never get made ;)

    You can also use the woody rosemary stems as the skewer for a kebab, if they are long/strong enough. They had a wonderful flavor to meats and the veggies that accompany them. :)

      I don't know that I'd go that far, but it can be very nice when certain things are in bloom ❤️

    Clicked on this precisely 1 year to the day it was posted. Here in England the light mauve flowers are on our rosemary, which grows in the rockery. Ours grows in the ground all year round. It over-grows if we let it! Just tonight made rosemary olive oil. Learned a lot from this video. Thanks.

    I'm just beginning my "Witch/Herbology" journey. Trying to decide what all of this means to me. I've always loved cooking and plants and was drawn to herbs so I decided to start my exploration with Rosemary as it's one of my very favorites. Sounds like I picked a good place to stat. Thank you for the lesson and the story.

    LOL, yeah, I too learned about the plants aversion to wet feet the hard way. RIP first rosemary plant.

    Thank you for sharing. I'm looking for heirloom variety Rosemary. I know all herbs, fruits and vegetables in the store are hybrid. Do you know where I can find heirloom rosemary plant. Thank you in advance.

      Although many varieties of fruits and vegetables are hybrid these days, not all of them, and as far as I know the herbs aren't hybridized the same way as, say, a tomato. There are different cultivars of rosemary available but they seem to be derived from regional sports and not an aggressive breeding program. That being said if you start from seed or buy at an actual plant nursery that specializes in heirloom or open pollinated plants then you should be fine.

    My rosemary looks eniirely different. It's a greyer green, drier, spreads widly throughout the garden, tall, thick and bushy. And it flowers beautifully in early spring with gorgoues pale blue flowers. What am I doing right?!

    • @TheGardenWitch

      You must have a great climate for it! I've seen some amazingly huge rosemary bushes in drier climes, but we get real humid here which may account for some of the differences

    How do you use Rosemary to improve memory?

    • @TheGardenWitch
      @TheGardenWitch  3 года назад +6

      Personally I liked to use rosemary essential oil or have rosemary nearby as I was studying for school. I would then make sure I had that same scent with me as I was taking tests on what I had studied; research has shown that scent can be a powerful memory trigger so I figured using a scent that was already associated with memory in folklore would be a bonus

    I'm tryna make a rose Mary tea lol

    • @TheGardenWitch
      @TheGardenWitch  3 года назад

      I've made tea blends with rosemary in them, it can be quite tasty! My tea that I made for Litha had rosemary in it in fact. The rosemary can be a bit overpowering though if you're not careful, but it's worth tinkering with until you find something you love ♥️
