the updraft gave jett sightlines that was not was considered for map design. It was punishing enemies with random timings. Well deserved nerf. I am tired if valorants stale meta of jett and sova which is why I started playing less. It was Sage and Chamber before. EDIT: It's also unfair that only jett gets access to these sightlines with this ability from the whole array of agents, which makes it all the more unfair. Let's not forget she has one of the most OP ults in the game. 'Ruining creativity' is also a bad argument. Look at other agents like Brimstone who have straight forward abilities. Jett ruins the core foundation of the game with her movements as it ruins the 'tactical'/clunky movement flow.
Agreed, im glad they changed Jett, only thing I would change is make smokes last a little bit longer. As for Chamber he is balanced right now, Agent abilities shouldn't have that much freedom of movement, plus he can now recall util from across the map and he still has is op and gun which are still really powerful.
@@thecrispyacorn lmao balanced my a*s, his whole gimmick were his teleporters and now its very useless. He went from an agent that has guns as abilities that could tp and be creative to an agent that has guns as abilities that could be easily pushed and disrespected.

Rito is transforming Valorant into a cs playstyle and you can notice bc now that the game is more mature, they're making it less dependent on the abilities and more on the strategy and gunplay.
yep. because it should focus more on gun play than annoying abilities that kills momentum and also they should make spraying in this game more friendly and counter strafing like cs or cf.
the 2 tp nerf was really good and was what made chamber completely busted, but the trip nerf really was a bad nerf imo. also 1 tp boosts creativity for choosing tp spots as the 2 tps was really easy straightforward and didnt need much creativity to be utiliced as you didnt have to think where to put it, just one ahead and one on safety
I want to assume Riot will continue to take advantage of 'new map acts' and do heavy nerfs whenever they come around. Buffs are used as new content when agents and maps aren't there to excite us. Jett was most likely a headache in sunset beta testing, with the walls around mid and A site being so short. If I had to be cautious of a Jett floating above the walls in mid every round, it would get boring fast. Feels like Gekko/Skye flashes can already come from anywhere on this map hahaha Great videos though! Just found you and I can't wait to see what else you have in store for us.
This philosophy only works if you presuppose that the idea of the ability isnt overpowered, just the numbers on it. Chambers two trips were creative, but the idea behind them was just too much, so they revamped the idea into a better state thats fairer for all the people who have to play against him
I didn't think much of the Jett nerfs before, but now that you've pointed out that those double updraft outplays are gone (I've never seen any in my games, so I had mostly forgotten about them), I agree that it was the wrong decision. I disagree, though, with what you said about Chamber's teleport nerf. It's like a Yoru teleport that doesn't have a time limit, and I don't think that's balanced out by him needing to be close to the other teleporter, because Sentinels stay in the same place anyway. It's also not balanced out by him needing access to the space he's putting the first teleporter in (he can't throw it across the site like Yoru) because, as a Sentinel, he would be using it for retreating rather than fighting anyway.
Sadly I don't think the updraft change was done on purpose.. i think it was a result of the devs making the new map sunset and realising after the fact that her double updraft would be broken on that map specifically.
I don't get it; everyone here is complaining about the fact that Jett updrafts were an issue in the game because it "ruined timings" or "changed sightlines". If that was the case then they would've thought about this earlier enough(it's been 3 years since the release of the game, and people figured this mechanic out a decent while back). Jett as a movement duelist literally relies on ruining crosshair placement. She needs the power to hit them offguard to be a good duelist. Granted it's a powerful mechanic, but removing it entirely only causes issues to the players learning the whole gimmick after putting time into it. Besides, if you notice, every other duelist in the game(except Raze) is basically a niche pick on specific maps, and never a general one. No other duelist has the power to do this. So removing the one thing that made her special basically just kills her off as an agent, and pushes her to niche picks like the others. There's also the fact that with all these nerfs, the game is turning out to be less dependent on abilities and more dependent on strategy and gunplay(taking @jhordanrojas9184 's words). It wasn't designed to be that way, so why move it that way then?
to is transforming Valorant into a cs.I mean yeah it is fair. But why would we play valorant when we have cs? we have the literal same game so why play valorant and just go to cs. We play valorant because it is unique
This video got recommended for some reason after months, but i practically disagree, updraft nerf was the best nerf they could have made, clips like the one in pearl is straigh up disgusting, why it would be fair that a character can fly high enough to see over half the map, with a ult that is precise mid air, and with the ability to clear such a large amount of space? and it isnt even the fact that she can do that, it is the fact that at the time no other agent came close to doing something similar. On top of that, what part was creative? press twice a button in a place where you can clear a good chunk of the map and you're good, or updraft in a place to see spawn combined with a flash and get free kills because the enemy need to be way better to both dodge the flash, flick and win the duel against the jett who knows where hes pre-aiming, thats and unfair advantage without a lot of skill needed to execute it, and once you get your free kill you still have jett ult that is pretty good on his own, its not even like raze who has to commit with satchels most of the time and normally get you 1 kill. And the chamber part its more of the same, whats creative about pressing a button and getting out of a gunfight? you can still boost yourself with one teleport so nothing really creative was lost, the only change its that the button now teleports near where you are, not like half a site of distance (thought i agree the trap nerf was too much).
The updraft is not a movement mechanic, it is literally just pressing a button. Using satchels with raze is a movement mechanic because you have to practice them in order to use them correctly. If you can't play the game without using broken characters like prenerfed chamber or jett, then the problem is that you don't understand the game or know how to actually play it.
There is a small movement mechanic with Jetts updraft though. Not as big as Raze you’re right but there’s timings with her Updraft. If you just updraft, you go up a small distance, if you jump & updraft you go a smidge higher, and if you jump & updraft same time you get the max height possible. It’s such a small thing but you can be surprised how many players don’t know about it and you can easily confuse your enemies with height differences just like jump peeking/silent jumping to throw off aiming
