Vegeta doesn't kill Ginyu in the original anime, as he appears in a new body in the Ressurection F arc in Super. Thank god TFS skipped the Ginyu taking Bulma's body arc later on in the Frieza saga.

What happened when he switched with bulma???
Ginyu's body swapping technique that is something exclusive to him. It doesn't matter what body he takes, as long as it's his mind in driver's seat, he can change bodies.
However, there is one stipulation: Ginyu needs functioning vocal chords for the technique to work. In canon, Vegeta doesn't kill Frog!Ginyu, and he hitches a ride back to Earth where he lives at the local pond near Capsule Corp. When he gets wind of Frieza's return in the Resurrection F arc, he hops over to the battlefield and swaps bodies with Frieza's new minion Tagoma by tricking him into saying "Change Now". ...and then Vegeta vaporizes him almost immediately.

The Wilhelm Scream is supposedly named after Private Wilhelm, a minor character who gets shot in the leg with an arrow and does the scream in the 1951 Movie "Distant Drums" an old cowboys vs natives movie.
It was a pre-recorded sound effect made for the movie attributed to a guy named Sheb Wooley.
Apparently the original name for the recording was called "Man getting bit by an alligator, and he screams." which is great.
It was used in a lot of movies but It got really popular again in Star Wars, where the Sound Designer Ben Burtt found the sound and gave it the name we know today.

I actually got the exclusive run "Team Three Star" shirt TFS put out. Still wear it with pride because the joke aged like fine Hetap...
One of things TFS cut out was the time Bulma found Ginyu as a frog (Vegeta didn't actually kill him), and built a little translator for him, and then Ginyu switched bodies with Bulma.
i'm 90% sure that's filler.
@@lulinhass927 It was. And I'm glad they cut it. It's only purpose was to give Bulma something to do, but because it doesn't really affect the plot in a meaningful way, it is SO unnecessary.
@@cjkalandek996 that was the purpose of most of the Namek filler, tbh. Tfs cut out the vast majority of the filler and really only occasionally address any of it at all.
@@thomasdahlberg5920 The main purpose of the filler originally was more "The manga hasn't gotten far enough into the main story for us to make the next batch of episodes. We need to stall for time so Toriyama can write the next few chapters! I know, let's focus on Bulma for a few episodes!"

I know that that isn’t Ginyu’s original body. A fun fact is that one of the only people who have seen Ginyu’s original body is Salza, who you might know as the blue French guy that works for Cooler.
It’s a technique, not a natural ability, so only Ginyu can do it. A body changing ability would be kinda useless if it stayed with the body.
If it's a technique then surely others should be able to as well? Not that he'd teach anyone but still
@@AarieaaronFTW wouldn't the technique be like a ki transfer ability in a sense ginyu just transfers his ki into a new body and puts the original ki in his old body which would explain why ginyu isnt as strong as goku is because its not gokus ki its ginyus ki
@@sonicblade64 plausible but that would kinda ruin the point of the body swap to begin with. It means he isn't getting any stronger when changing bodies. Goku just heavily relied ok kaio ken which Ginyu didn't know how to use
It's a mind swap. Ginyu wasn't as strong as Goku because he doesn't know any of his techniques.
@@AarieaaronFTW Funnily enough, Goku would have been much stronger in Ginyu's body had Ginyu not injured that body at that point in the story since the base power level of Ginyu is way higher than Goku's, so Ginyu's body + Kaioken is much more than 180 000 (if Goku could use the Kaioken*5 at this point, then that would mean he'd reach 600 000 in Ginyu's body instead of just 180 000).

Me, knowing the canon story of what happens: yeah, he made the right call
During the creator commentary, Lani says that "[Yamcha] sounds just like Raditz" because they were then both voiced by Vegeta3986, who now teaches English in Japan, and they actually spend multiple sequences actively avoiding Yamcha speeking because it wasn't until near the end of the Freeza Saga that they finally recast Yamcha, Kami, and Oolong.
As for Ginyu the body he has on Namek, is revealed later on, in the dragon ball super manga extras, it’s just another body he stole, so technically we’ve never seen his original body
He must've had that body for a good while though. After all, the silhouette of his head is the emblem of the Ginyu Force.

just imagine if Genyu did win, (if frezya got immortality or not) they would have recruited new members into the Genyu Force and change the logo to resemble Goku's silhouette!
@@theLOSTranger234 In one of the DBZ games that had to do with time travel, and undoing changes to the time line, one of the alternative scenes involved Vegeta, Krillin, and Gohan vs the Ginyus. In that fight, Ginyu doesn't leave, and the Ginyus don't try to fight them one at a time. Gohan and Krillin are already dead by the time the scene starts, and it ends with Goldo holding Vegeta still with his psychic powers, and Ginyu body swapping with Vegeta before they kill him.

This episode was just pure shenanigans. I love that Vegeta when seeing someone wide open will scream MINE MINE MINE all the way til he lands the hit. So unnecessary but SO funny.
And yes, the show actually does try and get you to follow all the body swapping and expect to keep up. I love Ginyu is done by Goku’s VA, and Goku is done by Ginyu’s when their bodies are swapped. GREAT touch.

8:06 on the body swapping point, you get the body, not the mind, since Goku doesn't know HOW Ginyu does the body swap, he can't replicate it. This is also why Ginyu has Goku's imense power level, but can't properly use it.

I didn't notice this until I saw their DB xenoverse playthrough (btw, check those out in your own time; it's long, but expands their abridged lore) but during body swaps, the voices stay with the bodies. Lani in particular mentioned how he hated that voices changed in the show/game when that happened
In the actual show Ginyu survives as a frog for many many years and finally dies in a movie at the hands of Vegeta so he really did kill every member of The Ginyu Force
funny thing is, in the original and the manga, Vegeta actually spared Frog/Ginyu's life. he was like: "fine, watch out for predators." also, next following episodes is gonna be fire. :)
Ginyu in Goku's body is unfortunately one of the few, if not *only* , times we actually get to hear MasakoX's natural voice
As, when he voices Gohan and Goku, he usually makes it super high pitched to emulate Masako Nozawa the JP voice actress of Goku, Gohan and Goten
One strange thing about Ginyus body swap
It seems to have some limits.
It's heavily implied that certain bodies he can't take, for instance possibly Freeza, and a certain thirsty villain we're going to meet.
To be fair the Wilhelm scream has been used in a lot of movies and shows not just star wars
I always incorrectly remembered Gohan throwing the frog. It would have made more sense. He’s strong, but also still a child. And he’s smart. It would be way more in character for Gohan to think his way out of this problem rather than have a broken Goku do it.
ginyu actually survived as a frog, and was wished to earth where he lived a reasonably odd life as a frog until dragon ball super during the resurection of f arc where he stole some other dude's body only to die and most likely go to hell. the whole bulma translator thing i don't know if that was filler added or if that was in the manga, its been a long time since i read the manga or watched dbz kai
Nah, just cause they switched bodies doesn't mean they know each other's techniques...he has the ability to do so, but doesn't know how to do it.
IE Goku (in Ginyu's body) doesn't know how to switch back to his own body 🤷🏿.
That's why you heard Goku (in Ginyu's Body) laugh at Ginyu (in Goku's Body) at how he doesn't know his techniques at 7:34
I used to troll people in the Dragon Ball Z fighting games by using Ginyu and playing badly. Right before they would finish me off I would switch bodies with them and land the finishing blow.

@@theduckgoesmoo It was all about selling it, you had to play well enough that they thought you were trying but bad enough that they would feel confident and drop their guard. I loved their expressions when they realized what just happened.
The episodes so far were indeed very funny but Episodes 24-30 are indeed the funniest in the Frieza Saga . Can't wait for her to watch this episodes!!
I remember when Dragon Ball Z Budokai fighting game came out (nearly 2 decades ago now, christ) I always played as Ginyu because you could swap bodies with anyone. So I kept doing that to people all the time in the game
Nail was the best addition to this series.
Keep in mind you two that Ginyu was unable to use Goku's body's true potential because only Goku can access it. That's why Gohan and Krillin put up a incredible fight, because Ginyu had no idea what he was doing.
Fun fact this is the third hole goku has had in his chest first two are from piccolo, one during a tournament then the one that killed him.

I always like the lack of awareness in Goku’s thwarting of Ginyu here, first he’s trying to save “Goku” while still wondering who he even is and then he just throws the frog because it grossed him out. He basically saved the day without really trying

I like how the voice actors in this version actually just did imitations of each other's versions of the characters. I the original english dubs the voice actors just switch so it was Goku's voice coming out of Ginyu's body, kinda lazy. TFS really put in the extra effort so it's Goku's voice coming out of Goku's body BUT he is talking like parody Ginyu. Awesome.
There was a point when krillin and goku were rivals as well as best friends.
I know this is outta left field, but I do hope the two of you react to more FItz. That vid a while ago was one of the hardest I've ever laughed.

It's thought that the body swap move is unique to ginyu mind only so goku can't use it but even if he could use it he wouldn't know how to use it just like how Ginyu doesn't know how to use the kamehameha or kaiohken

Gohan was a scholar by choice but abridged makes Chi Chi seem like a Tiger Mom pressuring him to be successful. And then Z happens and Gohan has the worst series of events for a child or adult.
There’s a lot of good filler in the series for you 2 to watch. In Dragonball filler shows what happens during time skips, extends events to flesh out the characters and world, and gives context for things that happen. Filler like that is always great to see whether it’s just a moment or multiple episodes.

funny fact, in the original: frog Ginya spent like 7 or so years as a frog on earth
It's more than 10. About one year between the end of Namek and the start of the next arc, then 3 years of training near the start of that arc, followed by a 7 year time skip to reach the final saga of Z. And I don't recall exactly how much time passes between the end of Z and Resurrection F, but I'd estimate it's somewhere in the 1 to 4 year range. So Ginyu spent about 12 - 15 years in a frogs body, not counting filler arcs where he temporarily escaped.
