He should have suffered more but as there was no one waiting for her in the wings ,so to speak she chose to go back to him .I One of my favourite actresses ,so this was well acted and although it was rather rushed ...it was a happy ending .Many versions of this script ...this was a good one ,she wasn't slapped every 5 minutes.

I'd say the writer had no imagination to put up a skit with ppl who collectively slander & insult someone who's poor or from the rural area. Maybe its the cultural mentality to favor the rich & be cruel to the lower class, thats why these ppl grow up with twisted values & have poor characters to be decent & principled.
