This song video cost over $500,000 to film because they destroyed the house and had to pay for damages.... the house belonged to a fan's family and was scheduled for remodel but they didn't expect the level of destruction when it was volunteered
They prolly wanted a new house on their budget.
@@XisoLate the video as a whole cost $500,000 to shoot but only between $17,000 and $20,000 in damage was done to the property. Corey says it himself in an interveiw years ago. Some yard damage and a shit ton of sheetrock and carpet damage. A busted window or two but it wasnt $500,000 in damages.

It was an open casting call for fans to be in a video. Way more people showed up than they expected but just rolled with it. Some 16 year old kid from sweden showed up with no hotel or anything, Corey had the kid stay at his house so he had a bed

Back story: The band put a call out months before this video asking for fans to come appear in the video. They were also looking for a place to shoot. This house belonged to a fan, they created the masterpiece we just watched and gave the homeowners a check! You are going to see a ton of people tell you to watch his spit it out live from download 2009. I'm telling you though, if you really want to get the full Slipknot experience, watch the very beginning of the concert with the track "SIC"!
Also they did 500k worth of damage to the house and Roadrunner needed to pay for it. But Roadrunner didnt get mad at all since the video was so good it won multiple awards.

Corey Taylor (lead singer) wrote this song about his suffering from chronic migraines for most his adult life. The "I push my fingers into my eyes! It's the only thing that slowly stops the ache!" opening line is quite literal. I have migraines as well, and it is definitely one of the only things that relieves the pain Haha. I have the same issue with my migraines lol. I actually damaged my left eye from pressing too hard over the course of my life lol
Mine are always behind the left eye. As a kid I used to imagine cutting open my temple and let the pain bleed out lol.

im only 16 and ive suffered from migraines for 3 years so far.. behind the eyes usually and my friends always wondered why i loved this song so much because i understand it. nobody my age usually suffers from horrible migraines like i do so when i press my fingers into my eyes they think im overreacting, but it truly does help

This was actually filmed at a fan's house that was due for renovation. In the aftermath, the family asked the band to replace an extensive list of objects and fittings that were damaged or destroyed during the shoot. Roadrunner Records provided the family with roughly $50,000 as compensation.

My senior year I was on rotation with 6 other students to play about 90 seconds of music during morning announcements and I would always play this type of music. Converted slot of people into atleast metal appreciaters if not metal heads. Gave everyone a nice shock first thing during homeroom
