To your comment of "you make your own luck." John Wooden said, "Luck is when preparation and opportunity come together." Very similar to "you make your own luck."
@ I think you’re thinking of another play. He was definitely not down. Though you could argue it was an incomplete pass not a fumble. But I thought they called it right.
Its not like they had a 500 yard performance it did have a different tenor to it you could tell it looked more air raidy if that makes sense, they could have done more to be honest,i am more of a fan of Dana Holgersens scheme than a Nebraska fan so this is a different view on this
I really like the diversity of Dana's play calling. I believe we had 32 rushes and 32 passes. On a side note, I'll bet that BC player Emmitt juked in the backfield needs ankle surgery!
Im glad Nebraska won for sure. But to much excitement over a winning season. I know why. But still a disappointment of a season in reality let's rein in excitement a bit
Yeah, and the game clearly showed they were easily outmatched. Although Nebraska key players include freshman QB, WR, LT, 2 LBs and 3 DBS, they dominated BC. You are clearly a box score judge and saw it as a 5 point game and that's it. Nebraska has the worst special teams unit in the country and gave BC 8 points where they had to block a kick and generate 2 yards on offense to get it. Nebraska had the ball in BC territory except on a kneel down in the 2nd and a punt late in the 4th. And for the first time in years, Nebraska sustained a drive to close the game. They needed 3 first downs on the final drive and did it.
Mitch, I could recognize your voice during the press conference…. all other journalist for the most part were on the vibe of “what does this win mean for you…” but Mitch, nope, let’s hammer the Special Teams nightmare. And granted, it was a nightmare this season, but, once again, THEY WON!!! And it’s the first season that ended with a win (plus the win was a Bowl win). Come on, come on…..
Hey Steve. I asked the question about special teams -- and a couple others about Rahmir Johnson, which was the focus of the primary story I wrote after the game. I actually had a conversation later about the special teams question with another reporter, who had a mic in his hand and was planning to ask it right after me if I hadn't. We agreed that while it needed to be asked, it was best to wait on that question for a few minutes after Rhule opened with the comments about Johnson, just to be respectful of the situation. I took that into consideration in the moment, also knowing that I'd only get 2-3 opportunities there to even ask a question at the presser. I'm curious, do you think we in the media should have avoided asking Rhule about special teams altogether -- just pretended like it didn't happen or wasn't a big deal because they won? Keep in mind that this team had 10 kicks blocked this year and rates no higher than 92nd nationally in any punt/kickoff coverage and returns.
Come on boys, let’s show some personality finally!! They won!!! 2024 ends with a Bowl win!!! Not knocking the show and its structure and style, the matter of fact manner, but come on!!! THEY WON!!!!! The season’s over. Save the (not knocking it) routine for, let’s say May. Or even when life re-started after January 1st. This show should have been entirely about celebrating this

Not sure if you both get a vote, but nice work voting Greg Sharpe Nebraska Sports Broadcaster of the year. Classy move!
I love Minnesota fans and the atmosphere despite the weather. I will be attending in 2025 in Minneapolis
I keep focusing on the Fidone fumble. If that ball bounces the other way, we’re all talking about how we blew it again in the exact same way. Insane.
He looked down on that anyways unless I’m remembering that wrong

It’s clear that Fidone is not the guy at tight end. He has admirable passion, but it’s just the truth
A lot of if, buts, and maybes the last 15 years. This time it's after a bowl win. Enjoy the win.
You are spot on with that comment. I’ve been thinking the same thing…
Congratulations to the Cornhuskers from a Sooner fan. Go Big Red.

20 points isn’t exactly an offensive explosion against a weak ACC team
A win is a win genius.
@@sleepyg2011 And 5 losses in your last 7 games is 5 losses in your last 7 games. Lol
Hard to put up yards and points on that sloppy mess of a field.

Field conditions were miserable. Water wasn’t draining. Basically trying to play in a bowl of soup.
BC had way less talent. Very disappointing performance by Nebraska.
Did Nebraska lose the game genius. 🤔

@@mitchsherman9457 you handled that well I thought. Yes, I listened to the entire postgame presser. Nice Work
