Hey Craig - Matt w/ New Roots Nursery here! We started our business last year and this year after I was fired from my corporate job (previously mentioned in a comment) we've now had our 5th sale and our numbers have grown each and every time.
The community seems thrilled to have a new plant nursery in town, our neighbors love it, and most importantly we are having the BEST time growing it and working hard every single day.
It's been a blessing to have your channel for inspiration and I can say I've now grown hundreds plants from cuttings with your advice (amongst others).
I can't say it enough. THANK YOU. You've enabled me to vigorously pursue a passion and dream life we never quite imagined. While we aren't where we need to be, we are 100% on the path and enjoying every single learning curve and step along the way.

Yep. I was hooked after watching Backyard Nursery as a Side Hustle 2 years ago. My nursery is up and running, but I have many questions as I go forward. I actually started to cry as I watched this introductory video. Such a true godsend. Thank You God! Thank you Craig! I’m heading for Nurseryyou right now!

I am so bummed. I would love to join group, but I was gone for the last month and missed the announcement and open window. When do you expect to open this up again? You definitely inspired me to start a backyard nursery. I am working on growing plants now. Finding out I could use help in some areas.
Not sure exactly when it will re-open; probably before the end of the year.

I’m a lifetime member. What I don’t like about him is he is selling a program you have to purchase. But I didn’t buy it but I did pay the $400 or $600 I can’t remember. It’s another way he makes money. The program is what he is selling. But there is some good info on RUclips with him.

You're in the same group as me lol. I don't have that kind of money, the wife gives me an allowance of $100 a month to spend on whatever I want and the rest of my check needs to go to bills.

I do good in sales and so far have bought plants to propagate and have grown seedlings .I'm so glad I built a shade house like yours just in time our weather has been anywhere from 110F to 122F so far. Here It's time to start some of the cold crops inside those that take time

Man I tell you, I am not through this video. But lately I have really been on the kick of being a work from home dad. My goal is to set up our property roughly 2 acres available as a nursery. I am still in the beginning stages and these videos help so much!

I’m in Mikes backyard nursery group and just went to his shindig Saturday. I’m probably the youngest person to be in the group full of so many people. I feel like I have figured out most of the things to figure out and I just gotta keep going and build my following and improving what plants I am selling. Not sure if I would really benefit from joining. He’s got the buy and sell half and the other half is just people asking questions and responses. They say it will be updated as far as sharing images. But I think having a Facebook group would be great for posting pictures and videos. I like seeing pictures and videos because just reading what people have to say gets annoying. I wanna see your setup or sales area. I want to see what you’re doing and not just read about it and his group is mainly just words. My goal is to add to my income one day by selling on mikes group and there’s definitely always people that will buy what you’re selling. There’s people selling fruit trees, Japanese maples, and all kinds of other plants but I do wish sometimes there were more people posting in the group.
I find myself giving more advice than receiving it which kind of is annoying. I feel like if I could actually see what the people were actively doing it would be so much better.
I might join. There’s so much I’ve gotta learn still.

I am partially handicapped but I manage to propagate one hundred plants a year. Mostly figs…
I have now started with mulberry, blackberry , boxwoods, apple trees, and willows .
I try to sell mostly through facebook marketplace, but have not started any kind of shipping.
I guess I have another question. It is just me , I don’t have any help. Would this site be worth it to me?

Just bought 2 clearances Green Giants and the other 2 looked a bit rough so I asked the girl if she would take even more off and I got them for 5.00 each enough to take some off and try my hand at propagating. Need to start somewhere 😀

@@savvydirtfarmer thank you, greenhouse going up this fall, having a small shaded area available, just need to keep taking one thing at a time, appreciate all your time that you take out of your day to teach us, honestly it’s what has opened my eyes to the possibility of having a little backyard nursery business.
I’d love to join, but I’m currently 16, unemployed since I’m a quiet guy, and have already placed all my money into some sort of savings or invested into the nursery I’ve technically already started. 259 isn’t necessarily in price budget at the moment but if I find the means I plan to invest in this in the future, for now ima keep gathering research and keep hunting for work to get that first somewhat stable income to fund my dreams
Absolutely! Make goals and work toward them. You've got a leg up on most 16 year olds already. By the way, being a "quiet guy" doesn't have anything to do with unemployment. Take whatever job you can find at this point, and work hard at it until you find one that suits you well. I like you already.
I positive attitude is the best thing you can bring to a new job. Good luck.

@@savvydirtfarmer yeah, I’m the person that a few months ago said I bought 3 thuja green giants, I plan to try and propagate them this February to get started, goal is to get my first sell next year with some sort of perennial

Good luck on your new venture. It's a bit much for this Canadian (about $350 thanks to the exchange rate) and not 100% relevant as I have a Tree Nursery rather than the flowers/perennials you do but I do wish you the best with it!

Usually I find the videos that are put out enjoyable. However, after giving all the benefits and purposes for 11 and a half minutes, you then state how much it costs. That is too pricy for me. As such I stopped watching the video because it no longer applies to me. Thanks for wasting 11+minutes of my time. If I billed my time like my work allots for my work, you now owe me 10$.

@@allforroses Wow talk about negative Nelly over here! The guy is pouring his own personal time to try and help other people out and you expect him to do all of that for free? get real! He's gotta make a living too and all the time he spends answering people's questions comes out of his Nursery time so its costing him a LOT of money in lost propagation time.
@@popandbob if you read my comment you will see that not once did I state that I expected it to be free. I stated that it was too expensive for me.
Also if you read my comment you will also see that my biggest complaint was that it took eleven minutes to get to the price. My follow up comment on his reply was due to the generic nature of his comment in response to a dissatisfaction.
