Any TV series in the 1970s through the 90s filmed in the UK that featured new Fords as hero cars you can pretty much guarantee they were Ford Press Fleet supplied, most would gone on to be sold through second hand car dealers - and generally not Ford dealerships. The key to a lot of this research would be tracking down someone who worked in the Press Fleet dept.

Hopefully, they are in storage more likely in poor condition. The cars from Bullit thought to be scrapped, but found more or less intact elsewhere. Depends on the owners' awareness of pop culture significance of their cars. A lot of TV cars get neglected, and few lucky ones were rescued, such as the Miami Vice ferrari replica.

I bet that white Escort is put away somewhere. In my opinion when a V5 changes hands after the last MOT expiry, it's usually gone to someone wanting to either invest in the car or use it for parts. I think a new owner would have known the significance of that car based on the forum poster's comments.

Silver Escort cabrio, white Merc SL, silver Granada and a blue Mercedes 307D van which seems a bit out of place - they even have the correct registration numbers. Sadly Fords till the 2010's were known nesting material for tinworms.
Finding a good unaffected by tinworm Escort, Capri etc.etc.today is almost like finding an unicorn.
Those originals (sold new in Europe) who are still on the road today had alot of labour of love on metal work into them. Escorts MK1 shells are even being dipped and electricly galvanised!

Not so mate, upto the mid 90's i agree with. But not upto 2010. And this is coming from someone who has owned nothing but Fords from 1993 on. My current car is a 2004, Mondeo St220. I've owned it for 11 years. Never been welded or had any paintwork done. It has one spot of rust on the drivers side fnt ( bolt on )wing. Other than that, it's mint, 167,000 miles on the clock and the V6 3.0 petrol engine, still drives like new.👍🏻 I would also add, that it's my daily driver and kept outside in all weathers.

@@craigjarvis9489 The mass volume models like the Ka, Fiesta MK5, Focus MK2, Transit, Transit connect/torneo were the last models who were vunurable to tin worm.
From my view the rust problem at all Ford models was solved when the Fiesta MK6 arrived.
Like all carmanufacturers in that time periode Ford had to use high grade steels to meet the newest crasch safety and weight restriction (read enviromental fuel saving) regulations on new models.
Those shell made out of those steels must be electricly zincplated in a bath otherwise they corode away faster then a first gen. Alfa sud in the 70's.
