Thank you for doing these videos. My 15yo and I replaced our 12yo's iPhone 6 battery on the weekend. We would not have had the confidence to do this if not for your videos showing just how simple it is with the correct tools. We snapped off a battery adhesive tab but managed to recover from it without having to do the pry of shame.
1 Thing nobody noticed * The iPhone 6 has its original battery connector shield, but when he’s done with the repair he uses an iPhone 6s battery connector shield.

I do some iPhone repairs out of my house and I can tell you firsthand that it’s actually really not that hard. As long as you have the proper tools and follow the already well documented procedure an iPhone screen repair can be done by yourself in less than an hour
People who know you will be afraid to throw their broken iPhones in the dustbin as they know that you will pick it up, repair it and see what's inside. Keep up the good work and maybe try to repair more iPads!
You should do a wheeler dealers like profit chart thing like (How you I paid for the phone = x) (How much you paid for the parts for to fix the phone = y) ( add x and y to find z which is the total of what it cost to do both those two things ) ( subtract a from how much you sold the phone for and then your done) Like this Cracked and screen dead Samsung note 5 = 30$ Parts for it = 50$ Total = 80$ How much you sold it for = 200$ 200$ - 80$ = 120$ 120$ profit in total
not that hard to imagine how much he sellsthe phones for just go on ebay and look at sold listings to get an idea of the price also I think he keeps alot of the phones just look at his collection videos
If you put a small amount of isopropyl alcohol on the pull tab when it gets stuck to the bottom of the battery it should free it saving you from prying the battery
I'm from the UK and I've found a good refurbished screen seller on ebay, bought a few screens from them and seem to be OEM. The 5 and 5c screens from them only cost £9.99.
2:58 Make sure you don’t puncture the battery as that might start a fire. Also if your buying a phone off of someone else or someone is giving you there phone make sure they turn off the activation lock on it.
When pulling the tabs , use the screwdriver that removed the bottom screws and roatate it in the tabs , and pull it to the side and this way the tabs wont be attached to the battery and they‘ll remove very easy , i do this and i don’t need to remove the vibrator!
I found out that you can use rubbing alcohol to soften the battery pull tabs! I did it on my iPhone 6 which I am watching this video on right now! I used 91% isopropyl rubbing alcohol.
My iPhone screen will be like the 0:10 broken screen (i have a screen protector but the screen protector is unusual because the glass started to separate from the screen plastic frame when i accidentally dropped it). If my iPhone will broke, I’ll repair it (I have the Ifixit pro tech toolkit).
I bought an Iphone 6 off Ebay last year, cracked screen, bad battery, got a replacement screen and battery, installed them both at same time, battery charged up no issue, screen worked fine transferred original home button, no touch ID and battery drained rapidly when not even being used, I noticed the home button got really hot, replaced it with cheap one, that fixed the battery drain and hot home button issues, started using it, after a week the screen went all lines then black, so went to repair stall guy he tried another screen, it seemed to work fine again, he said cheap screen no good, so then after a few days I noticed touch screen started having issues on and off until it isolated itself to the very bottom area of the screen about 5mm section across, which does not seem much but effected a lot more than you would think, reset the phone back to factory tried everything, opened it up and notice an area middle right got very hot, so now just a spares phone sadly.
Thanks Hugh!!! You have inspired me to fix my phone can’t wait for my parts to arrive! In your future videos could you please put a link in the description to the parts you use, it would be greatly appreciated for myself and others!! Keep up the awesome videos 👍👍

I mean, 2014 phone technology is litterally stone age. I am glad there is innovation in phone technology, that's why I upgrade every couple of years. But audio technology? Nah they stopped innovating a long time ago, litterally a 1965 solid state Tandberg with 10 real RMS watts is better than the crap you can buy at the tech shop, only limited brands are actually innovating. Brands don't need to innovate audio to earn money, and most people shop online anyway. Sound quality or even build quality is no longer the selling point, features like Dolby and Bluetooth etc is. I don't know how this turned into a rant but okay😂 My point is, until the big brands start to innovate and compete and build with quality at the same level as in the 1970s maybe I would start to buy new hifi.
I am wondering about something: is there any way to tell if a refurbished Apple display is actually real and not a knockoff? To me, they look very similar to each other.

Just a tip from a former Apple Employee: when the battery tab starts to get stuck on the battery underside, pull it to the side. (3:10)

(How much you paid for the parts for to fix the phone = y)
( add x and y to find z which is the total of what it cost to do both those two things )

Like this
Cracked and screen dead Samsung note 5 = 30$
Parts for it = 50$
Total = 80$
How much you sold it for = 200$
200$ - 80$ = 120$
120$ profit in total
