A friend of mine has this as automatic wagon. Its very fuel inefficient unfortunately and definetly not fast. Though it held up till this date with 285.000km of mileage.

i have the same car, man i would not recommend it.. Very expensive to maintain, it is much better to buy a petrol version since fuel consumption for the city is almost the same.
Why is it expensive isnt the old parts cheaper now? What went wrong with yours?
@@Knighttus trust me my friend, most of the parts are as expensive as for the f10. I am not sure why is that. As for what went wrong with mine, a lot of stuff and this is mostly all diesel related stuff. Once i was buying the car i always read "buy m57, its best engine", and so far engine itself is doing fine BUT everything around it is dying on me. DPF, EGR, Relay modules couple oftimes, Turbo, glow plugs, steering rack... And small stuff that i won't even mention.
Finally my car is now in a good shape. But even the regular maintenance is expensive, it takes 8l of oil for this car, not to mention 13l fuel consumption in the city...
Really, if you want e60 either get 525i/530i
OR maybe 520D but LCI model, even if it has issues with N47 chain, if you replace that you should be good for other stuff, much less fuel consumption as well. And the power is same.

I turned 18 half a year ago and i am looking for a car. My cousin has told me that the 5 series 525d is a amazing car. He is a mechanic but i dont know if i should trust him, atleast not after reading what you just said 😅 i don’t know what ill go for
