This song is basically a quick march. Although it adds violins for the femininity and electric guitar for ferocity, it still has the hallmark traits of a march, the cadence, the counter melody, the prominent brass sound from trumpets, and the patriotic feeling. This is basically the marching anthem of the Imperial Fighting Troupe.
I get to listen to both this and Shinsou version with the chorus really sticking in my head to the point I get to sing "hashire kousoku no teigoku kagekidan" myself.
I love the vocals of this actress. Honestly, one of the best-sounding anime theme songs I've ever listened to! I know she's NOT Noriko Hidaka (voice actress of Akane Tendo, Noriko from Gunbuster) but she has a remarkably similar tone when she sings.
Sakura wars characters are so deep and well developed. Story keeps surprising player. Memorable moments of Koubu deploying, Shoukeimaru, train, battleship mikasa, turning of Ayame, healing emotional wounds of all team members, the epic sacrifices before final battle. The game is so full of ups and downs...SakuraWars1 seems to have done such a good job, making me feel the sequels are not as good. Thank you once again :-D
Jon Chan Since TVTROPES described Sakura Wars as "First Installment Wins", it's safe to say SEGA just got their job cut in half which Sakura Wars game they'll officially bring in, as long as Funimation recognizes SEGA is a principal owner of the IP and work with SEGA to cross-promote.

They said ,,this is text game not real game, and f... you NISA''.

Unfortunately, those decisions ultimately killed the Saturn in America. A few of the developers did speak up and the President/founder of Working Designs, Vic Ireland, didn't stay quiet about what a moron he thought Stolar was! While you can't blame all Sega's misfortunes on Stolar, he sure ruined the reception of the Saturn in the US and literally KILLED game development for it in the US 18 months before the Dreamcast launched! At least I knew about imports and could buy import games. What about all the kids that invested Saturns and no longer could find decent games?!? Half the good stuff was left behind in Japan!!!!
Not just a reboot. I wanna see what happens to the story in modern anime production after the original troupe won in the OG anime. I never got to play any of the games so I missed out on experiencing a lot of the succeeding lore.
If you didn’t know by now, it was also a video game! Technically, the games were first, but semantics. Pretty decent Visual Novel/ARPG hybrids, I recommend them if you’re into the VN genre!

Popular in Japan. I wish they would re-release the series on Blu ray in North America. They dubbed at least 4 of the OVA series but the only piece of it available/in-print is the generally awful TV series. The first two OVA series were so much more lush, better-animated, and a lot easier to sit through.
I prefer the OVAs to what I saw of the TV series. I couldn't even make it through a volume of the TV show when it was released by ADV... It was SSSSOOOOOO boring and the production values were dirt-poor. The OVA's were lush and much better-animated -- at least the first and second series released. As I understand it, it went downhill after the first two series. They introduced new characters but they just didn't have the impact of the original crew in the first OVA and its sequel series. They TRIED to sell this series in the US but the game had mixed reviews and hit with a thud. It was one of the later games with utterly different characters than the original crew. Sakura was my favorite of the girls and her voice actress has a lovely singing voice. She was the lead/main vocal for at least 3/4 of the Sakura Wars series, games and animation! Her vocal quality reminds me of Noriko Hidaka, the voice actress for Noriko from Gunbuster as well as the elder sister in My Neighbor Totoro. Most of us know her best as the original Japanese voice for Akane Tendo. Heh -- sweet voice for a character (Akane Tendo) who really wasn't such a sweet girl... psychotic, spoiled maniac bitch was more like it! (On the other hand, the English-speaking voice actress from Canada, showcased the nasty side of Akane much better. It was unintention, I'm sure, but she could sound like a mega-bitch at times.) Poor Ranma... If he'd had brains and sense of preservation, he would have left within a year or let the last prince just take her away and not go after her for his own good!
