@@stephenhull9591 Thanks mate. Yeah it was quite the day out. It's such a beautiful place! I loved watching the beach disappear under the waves as the tide came in. Thanks for stopping by, Stephen! 😁
Interesting to see the Itiwit kayak out and about, and some beautiful footage there, not least the drone footage. That's a cool island and probably well worth a visit even if the fishing didn't go as planned. One safety note, a drybag on one's back can provide flotation if ending up in the water for whatever reason, as there's air in the bag - but it's on the wrong side which could be dangerous, not lifting the face up above the surface but the other way around. Unless there are really fast releases for the straps that would be worth thinking about. Very hard to capsize in a stable kayak like that but some swell from a fast passing boat and some bad luck, and one is still in the drink. 😎 For this reason kayakers also tend to have a kayak knife in their PFD to be able to cut lines etc if entangled.
@@AirOnTheWater that's invaluable advice, thanks for taking the time to let me know. Wouldno be best off just squeezing all the air out of the bag or wearing it on my chest? I do have a diving knife on my ankle.
@@Chronically_Outdoors I haven't experimented with this, but personally I wouldn't want the weight of it hampering my swimming capability in the water either. There would still be some air in the bag left. Ice skaters use backpacks as extra flotation, but then they rely on being able to hold on to the edge of the ice. If you're not completely sure that what you're doing is safe, it's better to find another way. Optimal would be if there's space to secure the bag (with straps if needs be) to the bungees in front or back, or underneath them.
We got the rods, we got the hooks, we got the lures, but we got no reel! So I'm gonna have to close early, praise the lord! 😂 Great video mate, I've got the same kayak, planning on going out on it more this year

If you didn't get a puncture, what probably happened was the air temperature changed and impacted the pressure between when you inflated and the end of the trip.
