      Yeah, looks like a buffalo to me too. Sometimes they're difficult to distinguish from carp though.

    Great catch on that big fish. It was a Smallmouth Buffalo. Not related to carp, but look similar.

      No, lol, its a freaking common carp, look at the body depth and compare it to a buffalo. Google both of them and put the pictures next to each other.

    I just bought a Rebel Craw today. I was fishing a small creek that feeds into the Conasauga just south of the Ten/Ga line. All I caught was a small Crappie. A solid 15-17 inch bass looked at everything I tossed her way but never bit. Glad I got to see someone catch some fish today 🤣

      Next time you go try a Texas rigged 4” Zoom worm. Works dynamite for picky Largemouth in the Northeast.

    You caught Old Gus!! Ever see that Andy of Mayberry episode? Great video! Enjoyed the camera behind you like that, it was like I was sitting in the back of the kayak and you would look back Andrew talk to me! Audio was fine on my phone. I liked when you pulled me upstream with you. I was sitting back there eating a Debbie cake and drinking a Dew!

      That is a great episode! ''Old Sam''. Tucker's Lake, caught by Howard Sprague. Caught him using potato salad that was left-over from lunch. I don't get to see it often because MeTV only shows the black & white episodes. Stupid, but they think that the color ones are no good because Barney is gone. There are nearly as many good color episodes as there are b & w. And only 3 color seasons vs 5 b & w.

    carps in europe also take small baits.Especially sth like the hellgrammite is food. Beautifull fish btw. They really fight!

    Awesome video that was weird that fish dragged you it kind of remind me of catfish Hunter in grumpier old men I think I also noticed a train trestle at 1:28 in this video I wonder if that railroad line is still being used

    Great video. I really enjoy how show that sometimes fishing does take work. Because I have Muscular Dystrophy I am not able to do what you do. I still enjoy fishing.
    I love your new camera set up. Is there a way you could use both the mic in the back of your kayak and a lapel?

      This year is the first time I've done small moving water to any degree, it is awesome! I used to tournament bass fish, which was great, but there is so much fun in creeks.

    Carp eat the same sorts of bugs that bass do. I regularly fly fish for carp, they are a blast on a 5 weight rod!

    The camera work was great. The two separate angles worked. I would prefer that you have the microphone with you. On the distance shots it was distracting to have the audio unsteady. And, you find the most picturesque places to fish. Well done.

    Definitely a buffalo, a lot of people go by the lack of whiskers but an easy way to tell is the solid black eyes.

    Always love your videos John! You make me sooooo jealous as I want to get back to God's country horribly bad but got a couple more years stuck in the mountains of Colorado and it is record breaking dry.....so dry weeds are dying and I do not ever remember seeing weeds die from being dry!     You need to score a old backpack with the waist and chest straps. Cut everything off except the back pieces and the straps and tie the leash to the lower part of it. It's almost like you're not dragging the kayak behind you with that setup. Also helps when dragging it across the ground too.
