Our houses are next to each other every 120 feet we have cans. For the most part rich areas the houses get bigger but not much.

I pick up green waste. We don't have subscriptions. Every house is out house. To dump and come back to the route is 1 to 1.25 hrs. The days are long 12 to 14 hrs per day. Yea no lack of work here ever. People that say that they can't find work need to look in the trash can.

With only 2 rigs and no spares how do you make service when you have to take a truck offline for maint or repairs or breakdowns ?

The 2 sideload we have only go out 3 or 4 days a week so we have a day that's open to catch-up w breakdowns or bad weather.
Also, we bought trucks new so the breakdowns have been small and manageable so far.
Strongly encourage operators read the manuals and not depend on service depts or techs.

We have 248 routes that run 5 days a week. 100 are fully autemated. 25 corroto bins on front loaders. 45 roll off trucks. The rest are rear end loaders with tippers and side loader with tippers. So seeing you talk about 4000 customers is funny. On my route I have 4500 customers. We run 7 different cities from this one yard. I started in 92 when automated started. I did non automated several years. Automated is how it's done now and for ever. Just like we will never use horses ever again for this job. The next big thing will be just the truck no driver. You can't stop progress. One day we will only have garbage trucks. It will happen. Why deal with a horse? Why deal with a driver? It's all about getting the trash in the truck and collecting the money.

The 4500 in a week is definitely realistic in a contract or service-every-stop scenario. There's a video I posted awhile ago showing that the New Way can cycle the arm over 200 times an hour. The only limiting factor is how close the stops are to eachother. I suppose if I sustained that pace for 9hrs, the next limit would be the distance to transfer and the speed of the pack blade.
      sounds like you stay busy.@@oldschoolisnewschool
