Thank you for this performance. It helped change my life. The control and breathing in soprano, simply the best. No other will ever sing like this. I like the San Francisco version also, but this one shows more skilled technique. Cissy's training and studying Aretha created THE VOCAL BEAST THAT IS WHITNEY HOUSTON!! I can only imagine the unheard versions since she did so many tours. My all time favorite artist and the best vocalist we will ever hear!
Duane Parker Have you heard the London version? It was taken down for a while, but it's back (on the same channel as this version) Incredibly incandescent and powerful. A bit slower paced, grittier, and more operatic than the San Francisco and NYC versions. I urge you to check it out. If you have trouble finding it on the channel, just search I am changing London.

Come back to this performance every 4 months or so, and have been for years. Still yet to come across a vocal performer male or female who has topped this. Yeah I said it: not Aretha, not Mariah, not Celine, not Gladys, not Karen Clark, not Kim Burrel, not Beyonce, not Christina, not Keke, NO ONE. And I listen to a ton of people across many genres from hip hop to rock. NO ONE. This is also better than the San Francisco performance.
Preach it. Whitney's voice (and her aesthetic beauty) was an anomaly. NO-ONE can touch Whitney in her prime. I love the San Francisco and London version of this as well. All 3 are so different.
The London version (in the link below) is easily the most operatic and dramatic version. Her belts are legit MALE OPERA TENOR belts; sustainaned with supreme powerful, scary, beautiful, soulful and resonant! There aren't enough superlatives to describe it. Pavorotti himself would've bowed to it (same as he did when they sang together in 1994)

She always changed it up a little. She sang ‘You give Good Love’ a semitone higher than the studio version when she did it live. This isn’t anything new..

@@mariahyohannes it’s not edited. It’s just a result of poor transferring. This is the key she performed it in but the audio made her tone sound pitch shifted even though the audio wasn’t really pitch shifted.
@@rosemont2283 I believe so too. She sustained the same G5 in San Francisco like she did here. I really doubt that it's pitched, it's just poor quality that makes it sound like it's pitched.

@@clamclam3 they’re not. It’s the result of poor audio transferring. There are a lot of recording back around this time that made people’s tones sound pitched up even though the key isn’t pitched up.
