Yeah! NYC has a heavy rc touring car scene, with everything from Mini Z,all the way up to 5th scale! Mini Z,and Atomic, and GLA cars are all the same size, but run on full micro race courses,so it's kinda hard to find the interest,it could pick up if people started running a mod class possibly!

great video and well done. the slot car track close to here is fun. But we lost another track when Professor Motor moved. Some people hope that "maybe" he'll start another shop. It was ALWAYS busy there. Slot car racing is fun and contagious.

I wish this was still popular like it was back in the day. I'm 47 and just getting back into it from a 30+ year hiatus. I am 9 years old all over. Some one please keep this going after Buzz cant

Buzz's last name is PERRI, with an "I" ... not "Perry". Other than that, great video! Spent many hours of good clean racing fun at Buzzy's when I was a kid. Buzz and his wife Dolores are both wonderful, down-to-earth people, and a blessing to Brooklyn.

Sadly, Buzz-A-Rama is now gone! Frank "Buzz" Perri and his wife both succumbed to Covid-19 in 2022. There are only a few slot car centers left in the NY metropolitan area, mostly in the borough of Queens and further out on Long Island. I am 69 years old and still race slot cars competitively mostly out in NJ, but never had the opportunity to race at Buzzy's. Growing up in Westchester County NY, I raced at many places including Indianapolis Slot Car Raceway in Scarsdale NY, Motorama in Mount Vernon NY, Tradeway Hobbies in Eastchester NY, etc. They are all gone now, and since I now live in lower Connecticut I must trek out to Port Jefferson Long Island or Wayne NJ to race. Neither place is close but I do it anyway. There is still a number of 'hardcore' guys like myself that build cars and race competitively, but our ranks are shrinking as we get older. It is a shame that more kids are not interested in doing this but would rather play video games on their game consoles and their phones. As a kid, I learned a lot about science and math building my cars; gear ratios, center of gravity, aerodynamics, etc. I still enjoy the hobby very much!

    No, Buzz.
24 of those doesn't make a real car.
    Here's how "scaling" works:
That is a 1:24 scale car.
What that means is that, if you took each inch of that car in your hand and made that inch in to 24 inches, the resulting car would be approximately "life" sized.

I noticed that too... he's been telling kids the wrong thing for 50 years!

I am too fat and stupid to do that. Just hanging out at my George Soros camp for children. We get net access every 5 days or so depending.

slot cars are NOT a dying hobby, Commercial Centres like this are pretty much gone... that however doesn't mean slot cars are dead. They are thriving and well in the homes of Real Racers. He says he started racing in other peoples homes, well guess what, that's what slot car racing is... these Commercial Centres were, and now they aren't... THEY were the FAD, the Centres, NOT the Slot Cars... when money becomes the driving force, not the competition, (NASCAR and F1 are dead to me) the motorsport dies and becomes a so called spectacle. This was and is a Spectacle, there's nothing more Spectacular than a Group 20 Wing Car field racing on a Blue King but there are other spectacles kids are interested in, and young people find cars a CURSE and blame them for Global Warming... cars are a dying thing.... not slot cars....
