The Saltwater Slip dress pattern fabric is beautiful! I've had my eye on making it in a black silk to layer under sweater and dresses....but, I too have some weight I'd like to shift 'off' me as well! Have a great holiday.
Thank you. I genuinely thought they’d be good to test the fit then I could cut them up and Mabel reuse the fabric but. I love them. I think they match my personality 🤣🤣
Those are the trousers I never knew I needed in my life! They are joyous 🧡🧡loved it when you chanted “Beetle Juice” three times… just for a moment, I was waiting for Michael Keaton to appear with the red wedding dress and complementary copy of the handbook for the recently deceased to appear! I hear you about the wrap dress. I really want to try one but given my body shape I’ve decided to try a faux wrap. Fingers crossed. It was lovely to see you again and looking forward to your next vlog already. Having a holiday to look forward to is always such fun. Actually hubby and I will be over your neck of the woods in January 2025! Don’t panic if won’t be around Essex way… we’ll be based in Sussex with the obligatory days spent in London. Planning to hit Goldhawk Road ! Take care, happy sewing and see you next time
Ah Julie, I was wondering if Stacey and myself were the only people who’d ever watched Beetlejuice 🤣 Faux wraps are the way to go. I’ve made The Friday Pattern Company Westcliff dress and that is a good fit for me 👌 Sussex is a beautiful county and you could lose your life savings on Goldhawk Road 🤪🤣😇
Adore your trousers and the pics of you wearing them are just wonderful!!! I too have bought the Nephaline blouse pattern and have white fabric all washed and ready to go - gorgeous pattern. I just hope I can do it justice. Congrats on your win- I love the Avenir and will be making more soon. All your fabrics are gorgeous and your makes so neat and professional. Such a shame about the DVF. I was a teen in the early 70’s and almost rushed to buy the pattern but then remembered that the style never really suited me when I was in my prime so it certainly won’t now 😂😂😂. I do have the Wildwood wrap dress to make this summer and looking forward to that as I have had the pattern 2 years!!! Enjoy your holiday and Happy Sewing. 😊 Lynne
Oooh, I hope you enjoy sewing the Nephaline. 🩷 I’m going to do the ruffle neckline version. I might make a toile version first, I have loads of white Brodrie Anglaise
I love your Beetlejuice trousers, they are fab. The Assembly Line high cuff sweater is a great pattern, I’ll definitely have to try that later in the year. I’m with you on wrap dresses, they are not for me either unfortunately. Can’t wait to see your Saltwater Slip dress and I’d also seen the Nephiline blouse on the Fold Line, it’s a beautiful pattern. ❤❤
Love, love those Beetlejuice pants they look so cool. ❤ I like the top and think I’ll get that one too. Stacey and I had a wrestle for some Assembly Line patterns so have a few to make up before getting that one. I hear you about Wrap styles. They don’t look great on me. I made the Style Arc Millicent wrap dress for a wedding but haven’t reached for it again. Great vlog, enjoying seeing your makes.
The only wrap I’ve enjoyed wearing is the FPC Westcliff dress and it’s a feaux wrap. It starts to cross over much higher on the bust… perhaps I’ll stick with that 😍 I’ll have to look up the Millicent 🧐🥰
Your DVB dress is amazing. Try it in the knit and it will cling to you better. The grey one you could wear a camisole underneath because it does look excellent. XX
Thank you Libby. I’m sure one of my friends will grab the wrap from AnnitTheMannie. Maybe I will attempt a knit wrap in the future but I think I’m dome with it for now 🤪😍
Oh my gosh they look amazing on... so funny I found that monopoly game too !! I do love the colours in the high cuff sweater is awesome...walking foot - he must have walked to the tin!! I love that dress on Annie... I can not wear a wrap... as much as I love them, they hate me me with a passion... bye for now, see you soon 💕💕🦩🦩💕💕🦩🦩💕💕🦩🦩🐞🧃
Loved the pants but absolutely love the wrap dress…but they don’t suit me either but you have done a fantastic job on it, it looks stunning in that fabric…I’ve made two dresses back to back different styles but they looked awful on me…neither mind that is the nature of dressmaking…great vlogs as always ❤😊
It’s certainly frustrating when you put the effort in and it doesn’t work for you 😞🤦🏻♀️ I usually follow up with a tried and tested quick make to cleanse the palate then get back in the creative groove 🧚🏼♀️🥰
Julie, I just don’t feel comfortable in a wrap dress, either. I recognize that my body shape is just not going to cooperate- maybe, with hours of adjusting that I just don’t think is worth it. BTW, your accent is intriguing; where are you from? I am in Virginia, USA.
Yea, I agree with you, I’ll stick to faux wraps 😁 I was raised in Sunderland which is North East of England but spent most of my adult life living in the South of England. I’ve lived in Essex for almost 30 years so I guess I have a bit of a hybrid accent 😆
The cutting table is 100cm wide 60cm deep. It has 3 adjustable legs, the tallest setting is 95cm which is perfect for cutting patterns. I purchased from Aldi a few years ago. They came as a set of 3 tables that lock together 👌
I just have to ask, like I asked Stacey earlier 😂 where the heck did that T in my name come from 😂 there are so many English speaking people that adds that T in my name 😂 it’s Karina, no t 😂
I love that new designer at the fold line, too. I was thinking of starting with the trousers ❤
Ooh yes, they look like a great pattern 👌🤩
I really love your pants too! Joyous, Julie!
Aah thank you so much 😍🥰
I absolutely LOVE your beetlejuice pants!! So fun! xx
Thank you Tamlyn. I’m wearing them tonight for cocktails with the girls 💚
Love your Beetlejuice trousers, they look such fun. I’ve made a couple of Avenirs and love both of them. The dress looks lovely
Thank you Angela. I’m looking forward to making the Avenir, it’s currently 3rd in my makes list 🤩🥰

I don’t think these Easter eggs are helping much 🤣
Your Beetlejuice trousers are epic!
Haha, unexpectedly, I actually agree 😍😍😍
I just love those pants 😂😂 coolest pants ever!!! You HAVE TO WEAR THEM!!
Getting a lot of love for them 😍 they definitely want to be worn 🤪🥰
Such bright and very cool looking pants. Pairs very well with the black. I love them!
Thank you so much. I love wearing them. They are a total mood lifter 💕🤩
Love your trousers they are deadly!
Ha that’s brilliant! I have created deadly trousers 🤣🤣😍
Lovely bumper vlog, thanks Julie😊
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it 😍🥰

That sounds lovely. I am going to do the ruffle too and I have a fine, soft white cotton modal from Guthrie and Ghani 😁
Great makes and plans Julie 🤩 That dress looks amazing on Annie xxx
Thank you 😍
Your beetle juice pants are so much fun 😅 Love the high cuff top, you prompted me to try & get a top out of that fabric now 😀
Ah thank you 😍
I was surprised to get a long sleeve top out of it. Got so many compliments and people asking where I bought it 🤪🫶🏻
@@Julie_sews_her_own_clothes oh wow, that’s amazing 🤩
Wow 😮 love the Beetlejuice trousers ❤
Not sure I’d ever be brave enough to wear them but you look fabulous 🎉
Thank you Alison, they feel very bold and fun to wear 🥰😍

There does seem to be a lot of us who just don’t get on with a wrap dress, I guess it’s just not for every body shape 🤷♀️

i 100% NEED that fabric you made those trousers from 😍😍 it would match my hair haha
That comment made me smile. I’d love matching hair colour to those pants 😎😍
I live the fact that you used different color rib on the sweatshirt!!
Thank you Karina, it’s the quickest of garments stew up 😇😍

Thanks for sharing Julie, your trousers are amazing. It’s a real shame about the silver wrap dress. 💙🧶🌈🍓
Thank you Jenny 😍🤩💕

Would you mind saying what size you made for the high cuff sweater, Julie? It's such a flattering fit on you.
I made a a size B cup Medium but I’m sure I could size down to a small 🥰
Thanks, Julie.

Can you list the measurements of your cutting table please?
I will measure it tomorrow
