Thank you for taking the time to digitize and upload this to RUclips. One of the contestants on this show, Sharon Harrell married a naval aviator, (F-4 phantoms) Donald Horn. They eventually landed in Oxnard California where they raised my brother and I. They are both gone now so it was a special pleasure to stumble upon this footage. I knew my mom was on "You Bet Your Life", she had mentioned it long ago when I was still in High School. I stumbled upon this after watching the movie "21" and figured I would do a quick Google search for my mom's maiden name and Groucho Marx. I'd never seen this footage before and although I have many photos of my mother at or around this age (she did some modeling for Kodak) I'd never seen video of her at such a tender age. Thank you again!
How wonderful! I'm so glad you managed to find the video-- I guess I'm not wasting my time putting the descriptions on the shows after all! Since you said "thank you", I'll say "you're welcome", but really, thank you for leaving this comment It's always great to hear from the contestants, or their relatives.
David Horn None of the above! Just a huge fan of the show who thinks it's absolutely criminal YBYL has been almost completely unavailable for the last 20+ years. Your comment made my day. The rare times I hear from relatives of contestants, the most they offer is "That's my uncle", or something similarly dull. :)
I remember responding to Groucho's home in the Truesdale Estates area of Beverly Hills in 1973 while working on the ambulance. He had pneumonia where we transported him to Century City Hospital. He was a character then too. While he was on our gurney going to his room, he patted a nurse on her rear while going past her. She didn't think it was funny and told him so.
Thor Matt You may be surprised.. not all the 17 year old girls of today are pierced, tattooed.. And most all of us are attached to our cell phones. I am school bus driver of the last 15 years, and most of the kids are very respectful, decent acting. There’s always going to be that one in the crowd, but on the whole the kids made my job fun, pleasurable, and rewarding. My most famous student was Missy Franklin, had her on my bus for elementary and middle school. Very well mannered. She went on to win Olympic Gold as a swimmer!

Amen! It's hard to believe what passes for beauty today. Many women and young ladys have no shame and flaunt it. It may not be strictly biblical, but its the truth nonetheless; "A shameless woman constantly acts (dresses) disgracefully, but a modest daughter (woman) will be embarrassed even before her husband" Ecclesiasticus 26:24 footnote.
Terrible quality, but it’s still better than any of today’s entertainment! There can be no doubt whatsoever that the lovely girl at the beginning had lots more men lining up with their rings!
As someone in the service dog training business for over 30 years, I really enjoyed the last female contestant and her dog. If we could see her completely while working with the dog, we could probably discern how she is cueing him; but, it was still super enjoyable! Love these old fashioned all American doggies!
22m22s she was very affectionate - first to the fireman then the mic - I think she actually need a rail to lean on but the mic sufficed. Her scream, I suspect, was the sound guy sending 5000KV phantom power to the mic to get her off it.
It's amazing, and refreshing, that many of the interviews on this game show are longer than interviews on current so-called chat shows. I'm sure it's not his fault and I do like him but Stephen Colbert often has people on and off quicker than this
robert maxwell in segment 3 is a bearded William Sadler! was bothering me the whole time who he looked like. they are not the same person for sure but the resemblance is quite striking.
While the actor, William Sadler, would have been about 7 years old when this segment was recorded, wasn't there another guest who also claimed to have figured out how to beat the roulette wheel? The other guest went into more detail (observe the wheel over a long period of time and see which numbers come up more often due to small imperfections in the wheel), but it would seem they used the same methodology.
That dog is no doubt a liberal because at 19:03 he has his tail up and showing everyone his campaign button for the democratic candidate that was running at the time.
This was one of the funniest YBYL, so much so that going to watch it again! It really made me laugh.

That usually is pneumatic drill.
The amazing thing is the connection between the dog and the owner. I bet they know all the same sums!
