As a frequent SAS customer I love SAS plus. In 2018 I flew about 40 flights with SAS, all in plus. While not a full business class product, but also on a much lower price point. The buy up can be as little as 30-40 Euro if you book well in advance. And for that you get lounge (in most airports), 2 bags (great for skiers), WiFi (SAS has Europe’s fastest WiFi. You acctually stream Netflix in hd), great food onboard, priority boarding and more. Really worth the buy up, considering how expensive food is at most Scandinavian airport!
Great food?? And more...? what is the more? The food in the lounges is not at all good, although Oslos lounge has the least poor food of all SAS lounges. SAS is also not very cheap when it comes to intra-nordic flights. That is a myth. Sorry Soren, have flown 140 flights in the last two plus years and the ONLY reason I have used SAS is that the competition is Norwegian who are far worse when it comes to coming on time, which is a priority for me. As for SAS long-haul product it is naturally a lot better, but hardly compares to most of the legacy carriers. And I love the SAS brand, sadly their product consistently fails to improve.
@@johnrosenbaum585 I think you’re both right. IMO the regular SAS economy falls short. European and long haul. I mean only water/tea and no snacks on short flights. Look at AF, KLM, LH. You’re getting it all. SAS Eco long haul gives you one additional drink for the meal, that’s it. You even have to pay on long haul and one meal to choose. That being said, SAS Plus and business are solid. But you have to pay for it.
MrEpaxx People love to decide what they think before they compare. SAS business longhaul is ok. Plus is fair. Both products expensive and not good value. I wish SAS great but they are not. In fact, far from it
As a frequent flyer of SAS i can see that there's a misunderstanding of what SAS Plus accualy is. SAS Plus is a premium economy class in which you enjoy some of the buisness class perks but not all of them. For example when you print a ticket in Sweden, it says SAS plus and not buisness. Not sure why it said buisness but i presume it might have to do with the fact that with SAS plus you should have access to fast track and a lounge. Other than that it was a really good video!
Thank you! Yes, SAS Plus is quite misleading as on their website it's described as a premium economy but on the boarding pass and at the frequent flyer program (miles) it's stated as Business Class.
Let me explain to you the SAS concept. What they want is for the traveler to have an easy meal that isn’t filling up all the space on the tray table so that they can get back to doing work (or whatever). Which I think is a great idea. I do agree that the middle seat should be blocked but that’s just typical SAS wanting to earn more money. I’m glad to see that the food was delicious. Everything is free on the menu when traveling on SAS Plus. Lovely video Nik! Really enjoyed following you on this one, as it is my national airline :]
Yes. SAS Plus is more like a Premium Economy and not a Business Class. In my opinion not worth the money despite you get a cheap upgrade. Thanks for watching!
SAS Plus looks great and provides many more benefits (lounge access and priority boarding) vs. LH/OS PE! When travelling long-haul, that's a HUGE plus! :-)
SAS Plus isn't a business class product in any way, nor is it advertised as such. Have a read on www.flysas.com/en/fly-with-us/travel-classes/. Other than that, nice review as always!
Thanks! Just have a look at the boarding pass at 1:27. There it's stated as Business Class. Lufthansa has Premium Economy on their planes and so in their system. So if it's Premium Economy they could print it on the Boarding pass as well. This flight is also stated as Business Class at my frequent flyer (miles) account.
@@flightexperience_official Yep, I can't say for sure why your boarding pass said business class. Maybe so gaining access to the lounge will go smoother. Not too sure.
It is wrong to claim that SAS plus is the same as Business class. SAS plus is only an upgrade from economy class, Nothing else. Definitely not a business class. Remember the boarding pass in this video, stating business class, was from Lufthansa, not from SAS. If you flow from Oslo, Stockholm or Copenhagen it would say SAS Plus on the boarding pass.
There is no business class on SAS European routes anymore. There is only SAS light, SAS go and SAS plus. SAS Plus is basically economy with lounge, included luggage, meals and fast track. I don't know whether the reviewer was misguided or misunderstood something but the titles has to be changed.
Just watch at 1:27. On the boarding pass it's stated as Business Class not as Premium Economy or Economy. This flight is also stated as Business Class at our frequent flyer (Miles) program.
@@flightexperience_official yes, I saw that. SAS announced a couple of years ago that in order to compete with Norwegian they will reorganize their price structure. In practice that meant that they ditched business in Europe. Anyway, great review, thank you! And I think SAS has a good product.

Serving on a plate os so oldschool. That box they invented is way more sustainable, and compact. Especially for a 1 hour and 15 minutes flight. Very Scandinavian to think like that. It's 2019 sir...
It's not very sustainable to use a cardboard box with a plastic bowl inside. You have to lumber trees for the box and plastic is ecologically harmful anyway. And both is single use of course so it produces more waste. A plate which you can clean and re-use is much more sustainable. Thanks for watching.
While the food/chocolates looked amazing, I don't understand why they don't block the middle seat for business class passengers? Is that new? I would be upset if I paid quite a premium for essentially just getting a food box and chocolates no? Also I think the box with no plate is a trendy Scandinavian thing? Looked amazing though! Last time I flew SAS in economy long haul it was abysmal, but they seem to have really turned themselves around in the past few years.
And it's not marketed as a business class product. It's marked as SAS plus mainly for frequent travelers where you get lounge access, fast track and a meal on board. Some of the frequent travelers of SAS travel several days a week and this is offered to make the commute a little more pleasant

Last year I flew PRG-ARN in SAS-Plus (also an upgrade bid) and I think it is a waste of money. In PRG, there was no lounge access, just a fast-track security. They did not bother with priority boarding which is not necessarily SAS`s fault. Middle seat not blocked is a complete fail. Food in a box looked fancy and creative, but was rather tasteless. Overall I would not fly SAS-Plus shorthaul again.
Cool video! SAS plus is a bit of both economy and business, with pros and cons. I personally prefer LH in Business as a Star Alliance Have to point out that seat reservation at check in is free for economy too And I think it's not that fair to give points to a lounge which is not the carrier one, the SAS in CPH is much better ;)

Food looked really good albeit with poor presentation but those seats. Dubious benefit to "win" those. I am not a fan of the standard euro blocked seats either, but without even that it is called "coach" not business class.
No free middle seat in Business Class? Thats awful and not worth the money. Two armrests per passenger should be standard in a premium cabin. So, thank you for the video, it saves money and SAS is out for me.

It's not only the meal. You get Fast Track at the security control, access to the Business Class lounge with an amazing buffet and priority boarding, which is all shown in the video. 45€ more isn't too bad for that, because if you purchase only the lounge acces right at the airport it would cost you 30€.
