To all of the people complaining that this is not Business class product, you need to understand that almost EVERY European airline has such a business product for short haul, intra European flights. Its not that shocking.
That's true! In American airlines you have to pay if the flight is shorter than 2 hours for food.......and like United Airlines,if they cant beat the competiton......they beat you the hell out of the plane!!!

Not very often I watched "Air Dolomiti" TripReports here before. The cabin was looking very clean And Yes. The seat-pitch was very narrow. Regarding the inflight-meal fully I can share your disappointment. In my opinion it was far to much sliced meat (salami) and only very few pieces of bread. How was tasting the salami itself? Spicy or dry and fat? Air Dolomiti is operating on behalf of Lufthansa but netherelses it,s a Italian regional-airline with it,s own sorts of food- and drink sortiments.
Honestly I flew from Varna to Istanbul on Turkish Airlines A319. The flight was only 30 minutes, but the food and the legroom was way better than the one you had on your business class trip :)

I'm a big fan of Air Dolomiti. I used to fly very often on the Munich - Klagenfurt route until they stopped flying there a few years ago. Very nice crew and great service. Great trip report btw :D
Another great report Felix. Very detailed and informative. As others have said, probably the most disappointing use of the word business class I have seen. Though at least you did get some food, meat & cheese, a very European breakfast. Still a very nice round up though of a more Unique airline than the usual ones we see. From watching your reports and David's i'm really surprised by the amount of airlines that serve Vienna airport that are more rare than other airports, looks like it has some nice airlines to fly. I'm looking forward to seeing what next's weeks report is.

European Business Class on short haul flights are usually economy seats with the middle seat blocked out. This is a plus for the airline as they can change the movable class divider depending on the business demand. It will usually feature better legroom as it is at the front of the plane and offer better service. So if you pick an economy seat near the front of the plane you will basically have the business class legroom but obviously not have the better service and middle seat blocked out :D
I couldn't see any difference between the Business and Economy classes with regards to the seats. Priority boarding and a full breakfast doesn't qualify for a Business class in any sense.
Indraneel Upponi many European airlines have this business class on their short haul flights. It may not be worth the money but this business class is not like the normal 2000-3000$ tickets, the business class is about 200$-500$. Economy class is just a little bit cheaper at 150$400 making business class around 50-100$ more expensive

I flew with Air dolomiti in economy light. It’s the same seat the only thing you dont get is that breakfast, you only get a little bit of water and a little snack
everyone complaining about that c class: for god sake thats a pretty usual European business class. seat next to you stays free so you have indeed more space and can choose between window and aisle seat and you get a full breakfast/meals for free (which is not at all guaranteed in economy). Seats do not only look similar but are in fact the same with the same legroom since that way configuration can be changed really quickly during turnaround by just moving the curtain (also called mcd - main cabin divider). i honestly dont see what is so special/unusual about it since it is more or less the way European business class works on almost all fsnc carriers including their mainline fleet.
The food was under-average, even for European Business Class. And even if it was an average Business Class product, that doesn't mean I can't critize it...
i was by no means critizising you since what you show is more or less a close depiction of what the product is really like. honestly i enjoy all of your trip reports because they make you really feel you were on that flight.
I think the RailJet (train at the start) has a better Business class than the plane! ;) Seriously, you get a carriage almost to yourself (like 2 or 3 seats in business!). Great video as always :)
I was curious to see a business class, in an Embraer 195 and, even more, for a short flight. The disappointment that you had, for sure, was the same that I had, even though I didn't fly. Neither the seat, nor the onboard service, nor a simple amenity that justifies a ticket being of a much higher value, as you said you paid. I think it does you good to get that type of airline off the list.

Imagine this breakfast: -3/4 slices of fruit (two of them can be apple which is one of the cheapest fruits) -- Yogurt (Airlines buy thousands and thousands of them), cheap too. -Croissant(like the ones swiss gives you in Economy) or a packed bigger muffin) -1 pack of butter and 1 pack of jam How manyy people will eat all the cold cuts slices, I would say les than 30% of the plane, If you put the above product, you will end up with a similar cost, less waste, and the breakfast will be much much better.
I think if it's business class on a low cost regional carrier on a short distance flight, I wouldn't expect much. Southwest has business select and all you get is priority seating (all seats are the same) and an extra soda can. Don't expect much from regional LLCs on short distance.

Not if you're an old fart with a bad back (like me). Even a 60 minute flight in an economy seat is extremely uncomfortable. But for a young, healthy fit person I'd agree with you.

I would say premium economy. Tried Sas plus on CPH-ARN this year. You get access to the lounge but the middle seat Isn't blocked as on other airlines.

I would not pay extra for Euro-Domestic for a 1 hr. flight. The USA Emb170-190 series offer a much larger seat and 3 abreast., legroom, and meal.
