    224%
Let the diameter of the circle = 1
Then an 80% increase would result in it becoming 1.8
When the diameter was 1, its radius was 0.5. Hence, its area was 0.25 pi [ 0.5^2 pi ]
When the diameter became 1.8, its radius became 0.9; hence its area was 0.81 pi [0.9^2 pi]
The percentage increase = 0.81pi/0.25 pi - minus 100%. The 100% is the 0.25 pi.
    0.81/0.25 = 3.24. Hence, 0.81 is 3.24 times 0.25 or 324 %; hence, subtract 100% or (0.25) from the 324%, and you
    get the percentage increase 324-100 = 224
    Or subtract 1 from 3.24 = 2.24, equivalent to 224% (since 224/100 = 2.24). The 1 represents the 0.25 pi.
So the percentage increase is the difference between 3.24 and 1 as the '1' is what it was (0.25pi) and the 3.24 is
what it has become (0.81,or 3.24 times what it was), so 2.24 is the increase, which is equivalent to .56 (8.1- .25)
    as 0.56/0.25 = 2.24 or 224%
