5v max on the RCA's? Even though my install is all bout SQ, I use an Mosconi DSP, which generates an 8v RCA output. Gains are all the way down and im still doing nice volume levels from the front stage. Even did a 147dB with some tweeking from a single 10'' in a leaking closed box.

I don't think you'll gain much, if anything from added exactly voltage. Certainly not 1-2db. If you want to get louder definitely redo the front of the wall to something more efficient. Although urs now is very unique, there's a reason only you have that design.
Why do you think that? He is currently only putting out half the voltage he was with his EQ. That is like turning your volume to half, and then saying "I dont think it will get much louder if you turn the volume up all the way" (100% volume being defined as maximum signal without clipping)
theres typcally very lttle gain with the "sweetspot of input voltage" with certain amps. input voltage/volume/gain are all affecting each other. So if his input voltage is lower all he has to do is up the volume to compensate and the end result will be very close to the same. Having more input voltage just means he needs less gain on the amp to do the same thing...or less volume on the head unit. Most of the loudest setups in the world simply use low/regular input voltage.
That is correct, IF AND ONLY IF the gains on the amp are set properly. If you set your amps for no clipping at 5v, and then feed them 2.5v, you cannot expect full power. You also cannot turn your head unit up more, as that 2.5v is the most it outputs without clipping, and you do NOT want clipping. :) EXO is meerly stating that he needs to re-adjust his gains on his amp, and that that would result in a signifigant increase in spl.

For instance a quick and easy way in an spl setup to test......max your amp gains out 100% and burp starting at volume 1, then 2, then 3 etc... until it stops getting louder. Clipping means nothing in spl because NOBODY is going to stop at a clip when they can gain huge after that.
Vanilla Gorilla You missed a very valid point. If you have your gains set for max efficiency but only see half of that you can't max the output volume. He probably peaked lower because of the efficiency factor. If i have my gains set to peak at 36 out of 40 volume but they only get half of the input it's like having the gain turned up half way at volume 36. I can turn it up to 39 where it starts to clip but it will be nowhere near full tilt. Let's wait for the results before we jump to conclusions though.
You get alot more than 109db, i get +100db on my infinity 1260w and 200wrms at home :D, and btw get better amp when you have money. But i think you get something between 130-140db, with better amp it would be closer to 150db

I think meters are pointless, who gives a FUUCK who is loudest on a computer screen.. what matters to me is how it sounds to my ears... my friend had 2 12s and hes louder on a meter but when it comes to distance and sitting inside my shits 3xs as loud. .. u also have a center port. And its tuned low. If u had a walled ride with a driver side port tuned higher and put the meter on the passenger side the (( meter)( score would be higher.. also. The more air u move the more it decreases on meter also.
i used to compete, then i grew up and got into the 2nd add.. i had a truck with 3 zv3s tuned to 27-28 herts , i made the box as big as the whole back . and ran many amps that uve never heard of lol. if i told you some of the systems ive helped build and what not youd just call me a lier lol . i mean yea man i guess your right, i shouldnt care lol

I did a 146.6 with 2 PSI 12's, you are easily into the 130's maybe even 40's with two SA 12's lol.
