  • It's that time of year again-monsoon season in the wooly wilds of Southern Arizona! This year's expedition didn't net any new rattlesnakes for me, but seeing Sidewinders, Blacktails, and Rock Rattlers again was great, and I got a couple of surprise lizard and frog lifers along the way. Enjoy the video, make sure to check out the related shorts I posted of the tortoise and Sidewinder, and happy herping!

I didn't know that Gopher Snakes were immune to rattlesnake venom.

Indeed they are, although some sources and websites report that their immunity is not total the way that kingsnake or indigo snake immunity is. They definitely eat rattlesnakes and have at least some immunity, as do bullsnakes, the eastern/central US cousin of gophers.
