Man, I can't wait to play this on PSVR 2. I never got into PC VR, so the closest I've come to anything like this in VR is the Maldives level in Hitman 2. Jumping in there and ignoring the mission objectives felt like VR tourism for a while, but this is gonna be a whole new level. Great video!
Oh my gosh, I love this video so much, and I love how you review this game. My reaction to the turtle was exactly the same. This game has been a lifesaver for me. Suffering from PTSD, my husband bought this to help me with coming out of a trigger spiral, and as you said, the tranquillity and therapeutic-ness of this game are absolutely golden... hats off to the creators
There are some VR experiences to be had that really argue for the positive aspects of the technology. This is one of them. Very relaxing and enjoyable. Years ago I used to kayak on a reef near the beach where I live and this definitely enough back some nice memories. Great video.
I hope to be getting the psvr2 on launch day and this is definitely a game that ill try. I could buy it on my pc and use my quest 2 but then id have to buy it twice
For me it doesn’t look good nor clear like this video if he’s only clear if you are completely still and staring directly at something right in front of you as soon as you move or look around it’s bad
Kayaking is something I always wanted to get into and I just played this game for the first time in the psvr2 and wanna kayak even more in real life now
Just picked up the game. I play it over wifi with the steam link on the Q2. Do get some motion sickness. But perhaps a bit more VR time will have my body trained.
This is the video that I would have made for a game like this. I didn't understand why people weren't hyper focusing on what it feels like to play this! I've only played PSVR 1 for about a week. I'm getting this on the PSVR2...this should be a great intro to VR and cool non-game title. I really hope others make non-game titles for PSVR2 like this one. There's def a market for them.
hey happy holidays, I just got a psvr2 moving from quest 2.. horizon...that alone was enough for the money I spent. you said the same thing I said about the reason getting in VR, when I was playing video games, I said only if I could be in the game and interacting. and here we are , 2024 ! thanks for the review and game play, happy holidays everyone :) actually im getting this next..like tomorrow lol
Wicked. I can feel the sense of depth in the water as you row from shallow to deep areas, just watching on my laptop. I cant imagine being inside this experience. Day one must buy for sure. And what a showcase for the uninitiated to VR.
This really is an amazing game! I tried it, but didn't have the stick to connect between the controllers. It just arrived, and I'm looking forward to adding that touch of realism to my game experience. I only wish the devs would let us twist the paddle, the way we do in real life, in a canoe, or even a kayak, to act as a rudder. For that matter, the devs really need to work on a canoe version of this. If we ever do send people to the moon, or mars, this game should be a must for them to maintain their psychological wellbeing. Thanks for sharing this. :)
Nice video, my expectations are really high for this! I’m one of the lucky ones who have pre-ordered the PS5 VR2 and can’t wait for it to arrive. Of course I’m really exited about the many games that will be available at launch like GT7, however this week Kayak was also confirmed as a launch game. I’m really looking forward to it and also it looks to be something that I really easily make my 80 years old parents have a go at. We live in the most beautiful era ever! 😊
MrWhitty2000 - you are like an American version of me! I have a rather wacky sense of humour also, and recently bought this game and feel just like you about it, it is therapeutic. I am thinking of offering to take my setup into old people's homes for anyone to try for free, I think they'd love it!! Hey, I hope you read this, if you are ever in Oz Adelaide let's have a bevvy or three, I'd like to meet you, life is too short not to make new friends.. #: )
@@MrWhitty2000 And I havent even experienced VR yet at all... I read GT7 on PSVR2 is also amazing so I guess its time to jump in VR this year. I am only interested in games like this where it actually fits perfectly and driving, flying sims.
Hey man I am watching your videos since a few days and I really enjoy it! I wanted to ask you if you have any suggestions on which VR I should buy because I don't have much money. Thanks!
The only probleme this game has is how you turn its inverted normaly when you put it on your left and you pull you turn left and vice versa but not in this game and i dont know why
Just slap the controllers on something. I personally had grips on my controllers while holding I think a drumstick or a broom handle at the time I can't remember. It honestly takes less than you'd think to get really immersive.
I’m trying to figure out the tour option. I literally end up just sitting in the yak and doing nothing. Nothing happens. From what I’ve seen it’s supposed to take me on a tour. But I just sit there. Any suggestions?
OK. Now you have my attention. I don't own any gaming anything. . What kind of hardware and software would I need to play this game in VR? Thank you for your help.
Why is it twitching and jerking like crazy? My head movements and vision don't behave like that in real life. I get motion sick from just watching this video.
It's just more noticeable sometimes watching VR. In real life our brains help smooth things out until we are quite a bit more sideways. Some games have a very good stabilizer but this one sadly didn't.
@@MrWhitty2000 that is impossible because Foveated rendering - in the headset only what you are looking at directly will be in focus In this video, everything is in focus - therefore the video looks better because there is focus across the entire picture

It doesn't get much better than this. An amazing VR experience that has recently added another level which just blows my mind.
