I have one of these too. My dad found it at a thrift for $30. I swapped the fuse and away I went. It's kinda dark sounding at lower volumes but gets some fat, FAT tone at higher volumes. Also the automix circuit is meant to allow you to use the pedal to select between the bright and normal circuit, or combine them. Pedal - selector->choose between circuits. Combiner -> run both circuits at once. For some reason they're pretty reasonable for a reliable vintage amp!! Score!!
Its going to have an Orange Micro Dark preamp into the front for a 50W Dark/PV hybrid as my dry amp powering my 94 Tubeworks 4x12 Tweed and then a Dark Terror powering its 2x12 combo. Paired with a Rockerverb 100MKII 3/4 stack and 300W Ultrabass and 1x18 300W as my pedal platforms. Wet dry wet.
@@KelticKabukiGirl Can you use the dark terror as the pre-amp and then you're just feeding that signal into the amplifier section of the peavey? Sounds sick lmk how that turns out. Kind've just considering getting orange 35 and calling it a day.
Or are you sending the FX loop (which is after the pre-amp on the micro dark) into the power amp of the peavey? And using the dark terror to just power the speakers. That sounds awesome...good utilization of the old gear while injecting some fresh electronics.
@@bobadler3097 i am going from Micro send into the Mixer combo of both channels, putting some pre amp tube into the front of the transistor PV pre-amp. The other kind of hybrid
I own three 110 classics. The Automix is essentially gain stacking, you can get some pretty nasty tones. If you can still find one with the original speakers, no after market replacement compares. The speakers were voiced to compliment the amp

@@bobadler3097 the Micro is a perfect tube preamp as you need no power load for a SS power section, the Dark Terror does.
