Any Questions For Me?? My birthday month is November, and each Friday during November, I can answer those... if you have anything that you have wondered, either about YarnWithHeart, or about me -- please email or comment throughout the rest of October, to let me know. 💖🥰
Hi Cathy 😊❤😊 I would say it’s polite to ask the individual involved. 😊just so you know the details. But as for me I’m very easy going related to those sort of things but others may not not be so much. So beautiful your work is 😊would me making some new wash clothes count for your make along cuz I need some new ones. Thanks for the shoutout 😊I did three different colours in my cream section too after all it’s meant to be a scrap blanket 😊
Hi Shannon. Thank you so much for your input about events/MALs. I so want to do "what everyone else expects/does" and I don't want to offend anyone in any way. I really appreciate what you have to say about it... About my MAL, a washcloth would be great. The colours are either a neutral, or to choose red or yellow or orange (or a combination of all of these). Your blanket CAL is so much fun and I'm enjoying using scraps. Thank you. :-)
Thank you so much. I have enjoyed the Tropical Bird MAL, as it really helps me to combine colors in new ways. It's nice to hear that you are enjoying the color combinations.
Lovely wash clothes. I like how you sewed the sides to make it more like a shirt. I love the colors in your makealong blanket. Your bird entry is lovely.
Thank you so much Sarah. This topper/shirt was one of the first CALs that I participated in and after that, I joined quite a few more. The makealong blanket is still going on (I am a week behind, but hope to catch up this weekend).
Hi Cathy. Your wash clothes are so cute, especially the gingerbread house. The ear warmer is coming out very nice, and your shawl is beautiful. Have a nice weekend.
Hi Debbie. Thank you so much! I am hopeful that the gingerbread house is well loved at the sale (it is my favorite one too). I'm so happy that the shawl and ear warmers are working out. So much frogging for the cables -- and now that I have the technique, cables are actually fun!
Your crochet WIPs are so pretty! I love the wash cloths, especially the wreath. Your granny square shawl is lovely and you wear it well! I'm crocheting a scrappy blanket for my living room. I'm combining hdc with filet' pattern interspersed. I like how it's turning out.
Hi Mary. Your blanket stitch sounds very pretty! And what a great stitch idea -- hdc & filet. I really like the wreath wash cloth too. Hoping that it catches someone's eye & sells today at the church bazaar (Country Fair). That wreath was fun to make and looks nice when it's done.
Thank you Alice. The granny sweater was with yarn that Jeff bought for me. I don't often wear grey -- and yet that has become one of my favorites. Take care and have a good week Alice!
Thank you so much, my friend. Good news about the Country Fair (a fundraiser)... as the dish cloths all sold (a bit relieved, as I was unsure & so very hopeful that people would like them).
Hi Tami. I hope that your market is going really well. The weather is nice, so I hope it brings many people to your sale. Thank you so much for your comment (that is so kind of you to think of commenting on such a busy weekend for you).
Thank you so much! I've been carrying up the yarn on the middle section, so not too many ends to weave in, and I will add a border to hide those carried yarns (hopeful that will work).
Hi Cathy! I mention people's patterns and make alongs all the time and I don't usually ask for permission before doing so. I think there might have been one time, but since then none. And I try to make sure I add a link in the description box. I figure they appreciate the mention, as content providers usually like having their work and projects advertised. I've never had anyone complain. (I only shout out patterns and makealongs I like and would recommend 😊) I even recently added a screen shot of some channels' home pages just to make them easier to find, but I was thinking maybe that was too much, so I probably won't do that anymore. And people are so busy, to wait to get permission via email for everything I share would make video production even more time consuming. Your washcloths are so cute!
Thank you so very much Christine. That was what I was hoping. I was so busy last week -- and totally forgot to email ahead. And really wanted to let people know as soon as possible about things I was having fun participating in. (So others could join in, if they want to...) That's when I thought "hey, maybe emailing ahead is an extra step that most others don't do??? Thank you so much for letting me know, it really helps.
Cathy, you are always bright eyed and bushy tailed😅. Your dish cloths are super cute, and your ear warmer is in a fabulous color! Though I am not a content creator on YT, I am pretty sure that any content creator here would LOVE to receive a shout-out for their channel and also for their MALs. You don't need to ask permission from them before posting on your group. As they say, the more the merrier, as this shout-out opens the door to the potential of additional subscribers and more participants in the MAL.....on a side note, I sent an email to you today! I am so excited! Happy birthday month in advance! My question - who inspired you to start your own YT channel?
Hi Anvita. I was so relieved that the dish cloths sold at the Country Fair (that is a bit early news, as I will also let everyone know this Friday). There were so many people attending and I was so happy to see many people were finding things to buy. I really appreciate your encouragement about posting events/etc. here. And thank you so much for your email about joining the Something New MAL. :-)
@@YarnWithHeart Cathy, I love taking part in KALs and MALs because this way, many a times I come across new to me designers and patterns and techniques. So I always consider it a win-win situation for myself.....thanks for hosting this MAL!
Love the washcloths Cathy. They are all so cute!! Need to look into the shawl. Looks wonderful. I don't have a channel, but I would suspect that as long as you acknowledge the creator of the MAL/CAL/KAL they would not have a issue with you mentioning it. It gets more traffic to their channel. Have a great week.
Thank you so much. The washcloths are so fun to make, and the thing I forgot to mention about the shawl is carrying up yarn along the side. Other than that, it has been a really fun pattern, and I will put a border to cover the "carrying up yarn" part. Thank you so much for your idea about how to share info about MAL/CAL/KAL (and I will be sure to link the creator in the description -- that is a great thing to remember). See you next Friday!
Please let us know if you are participating in something and link it. Even if it is something the content provideds are doing among each other they love seeing subscribers work! Love those washcloths. Annie's book is less expensive at Amazon.
Thank you so much for your advice. I really appreciate knowing what to do & what not to do. (But didn't know what the usual expectations are in YT World, and didn't want to take a wrong step on mistake.) There are such nice winter washcloths that we are making now. And I'm looking forward to the spring ones next, when the weather is cold. There are so many pretty washcloths in the book. I was happy to find the book at Amazon Canada.
Hi Cathy, November is a big celebration month in our family. First, it's my husband's birthday, then my birthday, then my dad's birthday then my mom's name day (St. Catherine). Whenever I can tag a content creator, I do. On FB, IG, RUclips, etc...Most like it and appreciate the mention. If they don't, they'll let you know and you can remove the tag. Easy to undo. My question is if you sell your makes at fairs, etc. . Thank you!
Wow! November is very busy for you & yours. And it's wonderful to hear that we share a birthday month. Thank you for your question. :-) And thank you so much for your insight about tagging content creators. (You are so right about appreciating being mentioned. I am so very grateful & excited when that happens. And your comment helps me to think about how other content creators mostly would feel the same.)
It looks like you have been very busy this past week. Still looking for something for the Moongleam I see. You are going to have to make a decision soon. 😊
Hi Judy. This week has been a whole lot of works in progress. I really would have liked to get a FO in there, but had sooo much frogging. You knew that it is the Moongleam (so lovely... first time I've ever had such a soft yarn)
The person who gave me the yarn assured me that this one will frog well, and to just go ahead/try. So I am close to taking the plunge with a pattern. Shall we do this together, you & I? Take the plunge with our special yarn...
I don't think permission is necessary unless you are doing a test knit that is private until the release date. I am sure other channels would be delighted if you mentioned their channels and MALs. Very cute dishcloths. ❤❤❤
Thank you so much, my friend. I really appreciate hearing what others are doing, when to ask first, and when to just go ahead. (The dishcloths all sold at the bazaar on Saturday. I am so relieved that people liked them & that they sold.) Looking forward to hearing, on your video -- details about your market. :-)
Hi Cathy happy Friday! For your November questions, I have one. I always love to hear how couples met. If you feel like sharing, I'd love to hear how you met Jeff. I think I am a romantic at ❤️.
Hi Judy. Thank you so much for your question. It will be fun to answer. (It might surprise people, how we met and even be more surprising, something that happened even before we met!)

Interesting about carrying the yarn. I have never done that.
I will try to remember & take a picture, before I put on the border (of the colorwork part, where I carried the yarn).
Your top is very nice.
