I love the drastic makeovers on the middle price range “fun” cars mixed with cheap ones you’ve done. It has been cool once in a while mixing it up with the exotics though I have to admit.

If he had stuck with the low to middle range cars he'd own his ferrari by now. He doesn't make that much on $25K+ cars usually. He doubles his money usually on the low end cars.

I'd go for 4 cars at $10-15k. They turn over much more quickly and combined, they bring in more profit than 1 expensive car. Plus you/we get more content that way.

He started with $400... he got to this point with that $400. It goes to show that with time and effort you can make it to the point where you could also buy/sell higher end cars to make profits. He does say though that the more expensive the car, profits usually are lower.

Take German with you to the auction. He has $17,500 and has to buy 2 cars. You take $17,500 and buy one flip car. That leaves you $20,000 for a non flip car for the lot. Leaving $5,000 for any repairs the flip cars may need. Can German sell his 2 cars quicker for more profit than your 1 car? Should be good content!

The other problem with the $40,000 car is it ties up a lot of capital, in this case for a few months. Better off with ten $4,000 cars, or even twenty $2,000 cars. You will probably double your money on those cars, so $40,000 in profit instead of $1450. And your money is always moving in/moving out. You probably won't have more than about $10,000 tied up.

My personal thought would be to stop with the cars that don't sell quickly and for low profit. Just not worth the time and labor that your putting into it. Keep the goal of the series in mind. I would buy and flip vehicles that have a good turnover and wanted by your average buyer from week to week. Things like Toyota cars, suv's and trucks, Honda cars and suv's, Ford trucks and others that are popular in your local area.

You said you got a 3.65% gross return having that car for a month? That’s significantly better than inflation. Inflation is calculated on an annual basis. When you hear for example that inflation was 8.3% in April, that was the inflation from April 2021 to April 2022.

Craig. What I learn over and over again is auctions take all your profit
    And you always over pay
It seems buying from the cars owner is the best
Get a through mechanic inspection and body shop and buy it from the owner with a very strong contract including clean title
    Or do not buy it
I live in a 55 + community with every kind of car almost all very low miles and beautiful
And one owner car no kids
Older people who buy toys and keep them pristine
Those are used cars to buy and make profit.
    Auctions just empty your profits
    Best wishes

Knowing what you paid for this car, I was disappointed, because I liked it, but knew you wouldn't sell it for a loss based on what you paid. Miles, condition, mods, etc, this car is worth about $38K-$40K. (6 months ago even less). So it basically sold for what it's worth. You paid more than 'wholesale' at the auction for this car, unfortunately. Fortunately you didn't really have to invest anything into it, and like you said, got to drive an Aston for free for a few months. If I was in the states, I would have made a bid for it. Import fees and taxes to Canada would have killed the deal for me.

You’re wrong about your ROI. You turned 3.65% in 2 months. That’s just shy of 22%, considerably better than most investments.

You are so right Andrew but Craig is interestedn in the 'impressing people' and that will always get you broke - he does not assign a dollar amount for the work that he does - example he spent 2 weeks full time on the Ferrari and took a bath - then there was the Aston Martin, The Bentley, the 5 cars he took to the Mecan Auction
If I were an investor in this company I would have pulled my money - here he is in the UK - how much did this cost him? necessary? he spends God knows how many months building a house, then Air BNB rnetals and he never makes money ! How about the boats? he can't really afford these things !!!

Stop buying these expensive flops. Make some real money on real cars. You can buy 3 cars and make more money on each. Tying up 40,000 on one car isn't getting anywhere.

Stay in your main wheelhouse, buy multiple cars. maybe make a competition between you, Germany and your Dad or Grandpa..... you buy 1 car each and see who buys the car that flipped for the most profit. I know you've done it with Germany before!

I watch every episode. I began watching BECAUSE of the flipping to a Ferrari series. Frankly, it seems to me you could get to the goal much faster if you focused on the cars that really make money and not indulge your desire to drive fun cars as a part of this experiment. Once you realize your objective, you can start a new goal , if you are attempting to maintain interest on the part of your subscribers. Dragging the original test out too long may loose you viewers. Just a thought.

In my opinion, see what the auction has to offer. If you see 4 or 5 cars that you could easily flip for good money do that (In your case, you have to take in the entertainment aspect as well). $55,000 is a lot of money now. You could probably split it into both categories. 1 exotic special fun to drive car for a while and a couple cheaper easy to flip cars.
