    And how come the Frigate crew did not see the tanker on AIS, radar and any other equipment a naval war ship has? This accident was purely down to an incompetent crew on the frigate.

      MABY THİER RUDDER GET LOCKED,I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED.BUT THEY DİDN'T RECONİZE THE TANKER ON THEİR SCREEN,İT'S A TOTAL FAİLURE,NOT FOR THEM,FOR THE DANİSH NAVY.

      Incompetent? Sure, likely. But they were sailing without AIS (and radar I think) as part of a drill. Still doesn’t explain how this occurred. Also, they have. It been much forthcoming in providing answers. I think “incompetence to a degree that is embarrassing for the navy” is the likely answer.

    Norway should buy a new frigate from Navantia, after falsely accusing her. Norway did a lot of damage to the Spanish company blamed constructive bad quality. Nothing is enough hard to colide with a giant oil tanker in his side and dont sunk. This weigh and kinetic energy is colosal.

      No, what is enough hard is the lack of preparation of the crew in situations of evacuation of the ship. Something recognized in the final report of the Norwegian government's commission of inquiry. A shame for the Norwegian Navy, which at least the government did not want to hide in the investigation. It honors them.

    Most incompetent crew ever to sail in Norway.........oil tanker says you have to turn away from them and he says then....then, then we will be to close to land.

    A little misleading video, seeing as Helge Ingstad was sailing covertly, which means it wouldn't've had any lights on. Also explains why the radar image doesn't show any AIS data from Helge, until after the collision.

      How can they justify switching off AIS in crowded waters? That is unacceptable.

      They were training how hard and dangerous could be navigate covertly on busy waters and discovered that it is hard and dangerous.

      Apparently the navigation and deck lights of Sola TS ligned up perfectly with the horizon, making it look like a town in the distance. Helge Ingstad had just moments before the collision had a watch change, and they thought the Comms on 16 was between Sola TS and another vessel.

      You do fucking realise that tanker is several times the size of that fucking frigate? You seem to have no understanding how physics works when something of such mass is moving in water cannot just "stop" to stop a tanker even at half its speed could take several kilometres before it actually comes to a stop.
