Be aware that BoboVR has not put out spare batteries for this head strap yet. There are those that may blow through the battery quite faster playing mixed reality games and want to have more batteries. Well, you can't have one. Yet. They also haven't said when they will be available. I have this head strap and I do like it. I agree with your review but just wanted to note about the battery thing. Small thing, another few reviewers have found out that the battery hissing caused by the B3 batteries (ones used for the M2 and M3) being used for the Quest 3 was due to it not having a high enough output of charge, but since this battery has the correct charge voltage, it no longer hisses when plugged in.
I got a Quest 3 about 2 months ago. I thought the OEM strap was great that could have been better designed but then I started getting ads about BoboVR and saw the S3. Oh my word the difference. It is amazing. The battery life I found is good at least for what I do with it and ordered their new case, and extra batteries with the charging station. This is amazing.
This is the best Halo strap out there I have tried. I love the fan. I didn't realize how much of a difference it made until i turned it off in the middle of use. I think the issue with the battery is the fact that BOBOVR and other 3rd party strap and battery makers didn't know the power requirements before hand. Meta should help them get this information in advance going forward. The Kiwi Design strap is awesome especially with the dock they made for it but there is no button to the battery off which myself and many others are not comfortable with.
I had thought about getting the bobo m3 but didn't want to switch straps between a halo and an elite when doing higher movement games so I got the bobo elite mini and was going to order the battery addon for it. Well thats exactly when they pulled the batteries from sale and took down the webpages. So I ended up getting the binbok with 2 batteries, works just as well, and I think the battery placement would be more comfortable.
By the way, if you don't like halo straps, you can take the S3 Pro's forehead padding out and it will basically act like a non-halo strap where the face gasket will secure it on the front. It's really stable this way, too. Additionally, the airflow from the fan will be even better without the forehead padding.
Gosh that’s a tough question. They’re both equally as good and it comes down to how you like wearing your quest. If you don’t like Halo’s then Kiwi for sure, but I’d recommend buying a more comfortable facial strap to go with it. I’m still rocking the S3 though
A common misconception is that the M3 was a whole new headstrap for the quest 3. In reality, it is what you get if you took your strap for the 2 and got the conversion kit for the quest 3, except they released it as a strap in itself. Thats also why we have the M3 Max, which is the conversion for the M3 pro users to the new S3 pro batteries. The S3 pro is a whole new strap with better batteries and almost indefinite play time if you have the spare battery and a good charger, not even the dedicated dock.
Good review. I watched your M3 review just before this. Subbed. I think the halo straps look too bulky, and I had a halo (I forget which one) for my Quest 1 and didn’t really like it. BUT - i would quite like one without a top strap that messes my hair up! That probably means a halo strap right? Cheers 🍻

Thanks buddy! Honestly, a silicone one. I actually bought a silicone cover of Amazon which fits over the facial interface which works well. Then I can slip it off and give it a rinse afterwards

At 0:29 you show that the M3 black mounting system damaged the white arms of the Quest 3. How is the S3 version? Is it better than the M3? I don't like that mount or slide system, because of the danger of damaging or scuffing up the Quest 3
The arms for s3 are still stiff, didn’t cause any damage on my Quest this time, but I would proceed with caution. I’m not a fan of this either, but I guess it’s more sturdy than a snap on design
Hi i got mines today and tried it with just the power it shipped with and thought it was not doing anything untill the battery died and the heat all came back to my face and heat . A lot people are saying its not doing much at low speeds but try switching it off and see how much heat comes back . And keeps me from feelimg sick .. cant hear the fan at say the lower under 20 ... i think its brilliant
Is it possible to use cable link and additional battery at the same time? I thought maybe connecting cable link to battery USB-C port will transfer data to oculus through this battery?
Hello I know you can charge the battery and play wirelessly BUT I want a good strap for when I'm playing LINKED TO MY Pc via the 5m link cable.... Could I just use my link cable instead of the battery pack cable?
I've been happy with my M3. I haven't had issues with my batteries charging the unit though, although one of the 3 I've got does hiss audibly (though not loud enough to notice over music, video or gameplay) even though they are on the small side. Comfort is good. Could be because I mostly use my Quest 3 for PCVR. The S3 looks better of course, but the extra bulk and cost of the unit and fan are a downside.
I just got this today. It’s SO much more comfortable. But as soon as the battery was charged and I put it on, it started going to sleep seemingly every time the counter went down. A simple button press wakes it up, but is this a known bug? Do I have a bad battery? Thanks to anyone in advance.
How is the wobble on The S3? My problem with the S2 on quest 2 was the wobble. And the migraines from not having it just right. It seems so much more complicated than the kiwi SPC battery plus stand. Can you help a fan out and and recommend between these two head straps when main use case is active like shooters and beat saber? I play everything else too, but I need a headstrap that works for everything not just the relaxed experiences and that just didn't happen with Bobo quest 2

I love my BoboVR S3 Pro. After 2 hours & 10 minutes, the 10,000 mAh 🔋 B100 battery dies after adding 40% increase to my Quest 3 internal battery. Con: There's basically no passthrough charging. And BoboVR needs to release the dual rapid charging dock & extra battery.

The m3 was only good for people who had extra packs and kept their q2 after getting q3. I agree they should of released the s3 first but either way still best straps around.
@PlayTestVR for the quest 2 I ment. S3 definitely the better for the q3 so far. That n I guess comes down to if they like the pressure on the face more then the helo/head style.

Agreed with the Kiwi battery. I didn’t realise this was an issue until after I put out my review. I just need to remember to unplug it everytime

For me it's the same. The battery of the BoboVR M3 drains first and only after that the battery of the Quest3 will drain.

The fan would work better if you used a facial interface that allowed for air to go through it.

It’s passthrough so it didn’t have borders.
Don’t remember if it was Skybox VR or Moon VR but both have similar passthrough experiences
It’s because @SkeazySimple uses the Quest 2 and only the 3, and 3S have full pass through unlike the quest 2
