    Hi Dr. Griggs, tripple positive, stage 1, lesion 1cm. Is luminal B? Another question why most of the data is only showing survival in 5 year period? After that the possibility of reoccurrence decrease? Thank you for your help! You are amazing explaining us about this disease.

    • @yerbba
      @yerbba  7 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the question. Much of the data in other cancers is only to 5 years. In breast cancer, we have 10 to 30 years of data combined from hundreds of thousands of women. With newer therapies, we have to wait a very long time to get results of course, so often, 5-year outcomes will be presented. It's really difficult to follow the same people for more than 5 years in many cases. People move and don't share their address or they switch doctors, etc. This is the challenge we face with the fragmented health system that many of us experience.

      Great question. No, there is no blood test or scan that can say all the cancer has been removed and that there is no cancer in the body.

      @@yerbba cancer creates anemia, so if haemoglobin becomes normal range ,does it mean cancer is gone? If there are no scans, then when does doc conclude to stop palbociclib?

    You might have talked about this but I was dx ER positive PR Borderline and HER negative..what does it mean to be PR Borderline .my treatment was chemotherapy, radiation with booster and 5 yrs of Aromasin.. also dx was Stage 3 Lobular CA..thank you..your videos are very helpful..

    • @yerbba
      @yerbba  7 месяцев назад +1

      "Borderline" means that it was positive but not strongly positive enough to call it positive. Breast cancers with 1-10% of cells expressing progesterone receptors are considered borderline PR-positive. The endocrine responsiveness and prognosis of borderline PR breast cancers are not as clear as those with higher PR expression levels. All other things being equal, borderline hormone receptor-positive breast cancers generally have a prognosis between that of hormone receptor-negative and strongly positive tumors.

      Thank you for your question! Based on the info you provided, it's a little difficult to tell. The relatively high Ki67 score is consistent with a Luminal B cancer. Determining treatment options can be challenging without insight into the unique characteristics of your tumor, any pre-existing conditions, and your overall health. • @yerbba
      @yerbba  5 месяцев назад +1

      This may be either luminal A or B. The negative PR makes it more likely to be luminal B, but having the Ki67 would be helpful.

    Invasive lobular breast carcinoma, multicentric, moderately differentiated (G2), with positive estrogen and progesterone receptors, ki 67-20%, Her 2 negative(1+)/Her2-low
    What would be the optimal treatment? Thank you

    • @yerbba

    I was diagnosed with luminal A BC. The pathology report says the tumor is cribriform. What does that mean?

    • @yerbba
      @yerbba  6 месяцев назад +1

      Cribriform breast cancer is a rare type of breast cancer. Under a microscope, the cancer cells form a pattern that looks like Swiss cheese or a sieve, with small holes or spaces within groups of cells. This unique appearance gives it the name "cribriform." Cribriform cancer grow slowly and have a good prognosis. Surgery is usually the first treatment, which may be followed by radiation therapy and/or hormone therapy. Chemotherapy is not typically used for this type of breast cancer.

    Is luminal HER2 always considered luminal B cancer?

    • @yerbba
      @yerbba  2 дня назад

      Great question! Luminal HER2 cancers are typically classified as luminal B due to their higher proliferation rate and HER2 expression. It’s always worth confirming with your oncologist for specifics about your case.

      @yerbba  7 месяцев назад +1

      With ER 95%, PR 95%, Ki-67 at 40%, and HER2 negative, it appears to be a highly hormone receptor-positive cancer with a high proliferation rate. Determining treatment options can be challenging without insight into other characteristics of your tumor, the stage, any pre-existing conditions, and your overall health.
