    I highly encourage anyone who has a little spare land or area for containers to grow Asian greens, kale, spinach, etc. They are easy to grow and can provide a near constant source of greens without having to spend the money at a grocery store. There are many RUclips videos showing how to garden even in urban environments. BTW, I love your backdrop of plants!

    • @yerbba
      @yerbba  8 месяцев назад +2

      Growing your own greens can be both cost-effective and rewarding. It's a great way to ensure a fresh supply of nutritious produce while enjoying the process of gardening. We're glad you appreciate the backdrop - adding a touch of greenery always brings a refreshing environment to the video.

    Your videos are extremely helpful and memorable (particularly because of your cadence in presentation and the captions summarizing what you are saying). You did not mention dairy products in this video. I have heard conflicting reports about eating dairy. I just went through surgery and radiation treatment for Stage 1b hormone receptor-positive breast cancer. I am currently taking Letrazole. Because I have osteopenia, I have been eating non-fat Greek yogurt with blueberries (for breakfast) and low fat cottage cheese (as a snack) every day. I find these two foods provide great amounts of protein and calcium. One of my friends with cancer said that she had heard one should only have four servings of dairy a week. That would be a dilemma for me, if true, since the best source of calcium is through what we eat rather than supplements.

    • @yerbba
      @yerbba  8 месяцев назад +3

      Check out our video on dairy products: ruclips.net/video/1fhu8U75chw/видео.html. While there are reasons people might recommend limiting dairy, none of them is related to breast cancer or its outcome.

    Thank you so much. I am on my Metastatic breast cancer journey and thriving. In fact, I’m going to celebrate my six year this coming March after being told that I have only three months to live.I I follow all the dietary recommendatins you’ve mentioned along my hormones therapy ( Kisqali and Letrozole) but I believe my diet and exercise has a big role . It’s also wonderful to hear that kind of recommendations coming from a doctor like you. Although I have a great Oncologist, I don’t get support nor recommendations from him. My question is how about a dieter recommendation for those women who are triple negative?

The dietary recommendations are the same for people with hormone receptor negative breast cancer. There is less of a theoretical concern about dietary sources of estrogen in hormone receptor negative breast cancer.

    Thank you for this video as your tips are always so helpful. ❤ Is there a daily limit on the flaxseed that you would recommend so you don’t over consume them? Also, my nutritionist/fitness coach seems to push lean meat ( 93%lean grass fed beef, turkey, chicken, fish, eggs) and he says we need animal protein for muscle growth. He also encourages fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. Is there any concern adding lean meat in the diet and is there any risk of recurrence with meat from animal sources?

      Check out our video about red meat here: ruclips.net/video/6B1eDC8ftyg/видео.html. In terms of flax seed, most recommendations are to limit to 4-5 tablespoons (28-35 grams) of flaxseed per day to avoid gastrointestinal problems.

Two days after the chemo I can barely get out of bed and for the next two weeks I feels sicker than I ever felt in my life. I have awful peripheral neuropathy and my ability to taste and smell has been very reduced. I just got my team to recommend d Alpha lopoic acid. Do you have any suggestions?

If the neuropathy symptoms are interfering with function (unable to button buttons, unable to pick a coin up off a flat surface), your team may recommend a change to your regimen (dose or drugs). It is helpful to them if you can give them details about your symptoms. Hoping everything goes better for you.

I would really like to know what the answer is if you can answer it. Thank you.🎀🎀✝️

    • @yerbba
      @yerbba  13 дней назад

      Thank you for your question. The idea that sugar directly 'feeds' cancer is a common concern, but current research shows that sugar itself doesn’t cause cancer growth. That said, maintaining a balanced diet is always important for overall health. We have a video here [ruclips.net/video/HbUNShJvzxE/видео.html] that you may find helpful and interesting about the relationship between sugar and breast cancer development and growth.

It is not uncommon for people with other medical conditions to have to have their treatment modified, including stopping before planned, to avoid worsening of those underlying medical problems. My mother is 61. She has been diagnosed with Metastatic ER/PR positive, HER2 negative breast cancer. It has spread to bone only. The doctor said he wont do any surgery and asked us to meet the medical oncologist for hormone therapy and chemo. Is this treatment correct?

    • @yerbba
      @yerbba  Месяц назад +1

      Your mother is fortunate to have you looking out for her. For metastatic ER/PR positive, HER2 negative breast cancer that has spread to the bones, it’s common for doctors to recommend hormonal therapy first and possibly chemotherapy at some point. Surgery may be offered at some point if the disease in the bone responds to systemic treatment, but surgery will not alter her outcome Your mother is also likely to be offered antiresorptive therapy for the bone (see our video on bisphosphonates here: ruclips.net/video/S2KJnxjKpJg/видео.html) and chemotherapy rather than surgery, since the cancer is not confined to one area. It’s always a good idea to discuss all treatment options with the medical oncologist to ensure it’s the best approach for your mother. It may be helpful to know that bone-only metastases are associated with a much better prognosis than if cancer is in other parts of the body.

      There's a lot of misinformation out there about diet and cancer. Currently, there's no evidence that you need to avoid eggs and chicken if you have breast cancer. Thanks for watching.

      Just like other people, many oncologists have had breast and other cancers. Doctors tend not to share their personal health history to avoid an inversion of the patient-doctor relationship.

    I am ER/PR positve Her2 Negative..They said I will take tamoxifine but I didnt decide to take yet..Now they called me for Radiation.... I am confused....

      Thanks for writing with your experience. In addition to surgery, both tamoxifen and radiation therapy are offered to many people with breast cancer. Tamoxifen goes throughout the whole body while radiation therapy is directed only at a specific location. It is safe and effective to take tamoxifen while on radiation therapy.

    So, in other words, as you secretly slipped in antioxidants towards the end of this video, is that NO VITAMINS whatsoever should be ingested if on chemotherapy. I wish you would have said this straight on instead of all the shenanigans. Truth is, nobody really knows anything anymore. It's all conjecture.

      You caught us giving a bonus about antioxidants in addition to our other video about antioxidants. The video on which you commented is about diet as a whole, thus the separate video. We have a video that goes more in-depth about antioxidants, and we encourage you to check it out for further clarification: ruclips.net/video/4NX2tcPbDVU/видео.html.

    There’s no such thing as non-binary

    • @yerbba
      @yerbba  5 месяцев назад

      When it comes to gender identity, there absolutely are non-binary people. Recognizing and respecting each person's self-identified gender can contribute to more inclusive and supportive interactions.
