    I was diagnosed with HER2 + Hormone negative BC stage 2B in Jan 2021. Had PCR after 4 rounds chem (TCHP) (this is 2 less than protocol in the US and my choice), had mastectomy/reconstruction in one surgery and there was 0 cancer at surgery. I did not do the hercepton/perjeta maintenance, (again not protocol in the US). I fasted for 2-3 days before all chemo, was extremely sensitive to the TCHP, lost all hair, lost weight, had skin rashes, eye problems, etc., but everything came back exactly the same afterwards. Feeling great, and very positive. I always check to see the latest treatments and information on HER2 + BC.

    Hello Liz, Thank you so much for all the information you are putting out there. I've watched all of your videos. I was recently diagnosed with HER2 Stage 2; a month after having my baby (found the lump while breastfeeding), I just turned 34. I have talked to my oncologist about recurrence rate and it seems like statistics are somewhat limited because of the fairly new treatments. I would just love to know if in your opinion, HER2 is the type of cancer that always finds its way back, or has there been cases where HER2 stays away for good?

I am Her2+ which metastasized and started ricocheting off of my bones so my Dr who Is at MSK and is nationally know for this specific cancer decide to start chemo right away and it worked. Pet scan shows NO sign of cancer and now I’m on herceptin & projeta and she’s saying that surgery is not warranted now. It’s so hard to stop thinking of the chance of recurring. I trust my Dr and she has also told me that if I still feel the same way in a couple of months that I can visit with the surgeon. She will be doing periodic pet scans. Your thoughts?

      I am currently undergoing neoadjuvant chemo for my stage iv HER2+ ER/PR- breast cancer. I have had two rounds of chemo & targeted theraphy and my tumour in my breast (which was around 10cm before we started with treatment) is now completely gone. My lymph nodes are also back to normal. This only after 2 rounds of treatment. I still have 4 to go, but not sure if that will stay that way given the incredible response. I have a PET scan again in 2 weeks then we will see how the metastic tumours on my liver has also been responding to the treatments.
      I am glad we started with chemo first.
      However, I must add, that since my initial diagnosis was stage iv from the get-go, the oncologist did tell me there is no use in surgery as the cancer has already spread.
      They were also positive/convinced that my cancer is HER2+ based on the biopsy results and could therefor use the correct chemo and targeted theraphy combo.
      But every patient is different, every doctor's approach is different.
      I had confidence in my medical team that what they suggested as the best treatment plan for me, was in fact the best plan. And now the results show it too.
      In the end, every patient should trust their own intuition and do their own research as well. If a doctor suggests something that you are not comfortable with or it does not make sense, ask the questions and get your answers before you say yes.
      I can also recommend reading Dr Kelly Turner's book "Radical Remission" and "Radical Hope"!
      Thinking of all my fellow cancer warriors and their loved ones 🙏

To make a long story short, I went through six cycles of chemo and the tumor in my breast is gone, gone from my liver, but remains in my spine. I did not have surgery. I am currently still get the PHESG0 monitored with Echocardiogram and CT scan every four months. I get a rash and constipated on the third day after the shot. I still lack physical strength. I walk everyday and garden during the summer. Getting up off the ground is a chore. Can you suggest weight baring exercise routines that would be helpful and not harmful for patients? More research studies should be done on nutrition and natural herb support for patients. We all want to participate as no one wants to do more harm than good to themselves.

I’m concerned about it and would like to know whether any of the Phesgo patients have experienced side effects from receive such a large amount monthly. And would making the tissue more permeable be bad in terms of spreading cancer as well ad the other side effects. Supposedly there are also people who are allergic to hyaluronidase. Also did Mastectomy first, then chemo and Herceptin.

    I was ER and Her2 + but wasnt given chemo or herceptin because they said the tumour was tiny (4mm). Although glad not to have gone through the awful treatment I'm still in two minds about the risk of recurrence.....

    • @GoldenTama
      @GoldenTama 11 месяцев назад +1

      HER2+ and wasn't given chemo!? Did you do a genetic test? (I'm negative) I was initially diagnosed with stage 0. After the biopsy and surgery, they found the 4mm tumor, and I'm ER, PR, and HER2 positive. The lymph node is clear. For HER2+, I'm told that the risk of recurrence is about 10%, but if it does recur, it will be very fast and aggressive. If I get treatment, there is a 98% chance of preventing recurrence. I'm in the US so UK might be different but I'm also told that there isn't a standard treatment for under 5mm because there isn't enough study. So, my oncologist and breast cancer specialist told me that I should either get standard treatments or participate in a clinical trial (Harvard Medical, Dana-Farber, and BIDMC team) for prevention. I decided to do a clinical trial, which can be randomized to either standard treatment or TDM-1. Fortunately, I'm randomized into Arm 1, which is TDM-1, aka mini-chemo (less side effects/no hair loss). After that, I will undergo Herceptin, radiation, and then take a pill. This is only my day 3 on TDM-1, but I haven't experienced any side effects so far.

    Thank you very much for your video. I was diagnosed with Her2+ one year before. Ι had demobilizations inside my right breast, the laregest one was 0.7 mm. My oncologist said i was stage 1, but i did all the therapies you mentioned for stage 2 (chemo, radiation, herceptin-perjeta-fesgo) for 1 year. I am a little confused for that , do you think that this case would be different due to the fact i had demobilizations and not 1 normal tumor like everybody?

    Thank you for this. I can attest to how good herceptin and perjeta are- I had pcr at surgery. I’m still on herceptin for 10 more rounds. What is the likelihood of recurrence if you had pcr and no node involvement ( stage 2 grade 3)?

    I had grade 3 and had chemo (with CPR), surgery, rads and Phesgo. Last of 18 injections in October 2023. How long does it take to fully recover from treatment? Plus, you say Herceptin reduces the risk of recurrence so what risk is there? Also, how long does it take to fully recover from SMX + axillary node clearance on the inside i.e. on the inside plus scar area flattening out. Thank-you

    Super helpful- thank you. I have a question please. What if you have CPR, double mastectomy (because you are young) and have had the Phesgo - should you be scanned at some point? I'm not hearing of a any scans post treatment. How would you know of recurrence? Surely a PET scan is advisable? If anyone knows anything please respond to me with info. Thanks in advance, and to all of you out there in the midst of the journey, I send you love.

      My oncologist said no scans- just come in if you have symptoms. She said that there’s no real difference in outcomes from scans vs symptoms, and scans expose you to needless radiation.

    • @nancybee250
      @nancybee250 Год назад +1

      We were told the same No scans unless symptomatic As Detection would not change the outcome. This is probably the only thing about cancer treatment that I just do not believe. To me even being able to have a pet scan every 2 or 3 years would make sense And hopefully provide peace of mind.
