6:10 Regarding the Vintage Rally, the extra knob and switch on the lower bout are for the built-in treble boost circuit that originally came on that model. People sometimes mistake it for a standby switch because its location is where Gretsch often puts the standby switch. However, in this case, the switch near the tailpiece activates the boost, and the last knob controls the boost level. There will also be a battery hatch on the back sometimes near the neck joint, and sometimes further down, depending on the year of manufacture. The Gretsch "Sonic Boom" Treble Boost was only used on a few models and didn't last long, only being available for 3-4 years. Apart from all that, I think the new models look and sound great. I'm a big fan of the Super HiLoTrons, I have them in another guitar.
@@nikoberardo9213 Yep, the vintage one sounds better to me. I played a green Rally reissue in guitar center recently. While it sounded fine and felt great, the super hi lo trons are definitely a bit darker and less lively.
great to see the return of comedy into the CME clips again... as a long time Gretsch player and owner of newer and older Gretsch's it's nice to see reissues inspired by Gretsch's older models resurface... I wait for the day to see a Rambler reissue but won't hold my breath one can dream or even the Roc Jets and Astrojets ... the only thing that I suggest Gretsch do is perhaps make a bigger effort to retain the more elegant and better shaped pickguards of the originals some of the these flexible pickguards fitted on recent electromatic models destroy the aesthetic of "that great Gretsch look " ... whilst I'm aware the older perspex is prone to cracking over time I would suggest that Gretsch perhaps look for a similar hard wearing alternative that looks like the original pickguards apart from that these new Rally's look great ...
CME or anything with Nathaniel gets an immediate click from me and a thumbs up 👍 PS my cars and motorcycles all have stripes. I can’t believe I haven’t thought of putting them on my guitars. Thanks for the tip 👍
okay, so I'm new to this channel. Why am I seeing three grown adult men sitting in full body suits with a helmet on barstool reviewing a guitar? Is this what Chicago is like😂? love from India.
Hey Daniel, if you want a black semi-hollow thinline Gretsch find a used G5620T-CB in black from 2013-2017 production. I’ve got one and it’s great. Even has the same Super Hilo pup in the neck position.
🤣😂 Best one of the year so far. Racing Stripes it's the formula for a faster playing guitar but you forgot to mention that it takes the volume to 11 also!
Really like these! I was ging to say, I hope they didn't put the BT2S pickups in them, buti reckon they actually are, but with 6 pole pieces removed.......

The new ones look and sound great, but dang does that vintage Rally have a snarl!
can't go wrong with a set of OG Hilotron single coils being pushed!!

I have an astrojet and it's just great...don't see them reissuing it
I need Nathaniel to wear a racing helmet in all videos until the end of the time, CME or not.

Nice price. Love the green.
Boy, that vintage Rally certainly shows up the modern import model!
Never seen a green guitar look so sexy. As a 24 year old I never see any of my friends play a gretsch, might have to start
The bridge pickup with tone switch in down position is great unique gretsch sound
Just bought the oxblood one and I love it.. beautifully comfortable and sounds amazing.

love from India.
When you played black crowes that guitar sang love it
Great review crew. Genuinely good at being truly funny.
Doc Watson on a 2023 Gretsch took me to a parallel universe without even denting my Fender. Thanks!
Is it just me or did the yellow one sound out of phase with both pickups on?
Yeah, it’s most certainly out of phase!
I thought so..
Loved the comedy speed thing made me giggle

Lads, the snarky ironic humour thing stopped being about 3 years into the Friends sitcom.
Great playing as always Nate

This is hilarious. Awesome guitar!
Are that any substancial diferences among 2604T and 2622T?
Amazing demo. What amp was used, and any pedals?
Thank you! Nathaniel was playing though a Fender Deluxe and using a Benson Pre Amp Pedal.
The first song is Mr. Brownstone?
Yes
Funny...& a cool guitar.
How does this compare to an Ibanez As73?
Oscar the Gretsch: green one
That’s Jackie Stewart British Racing Green. A budget Country Gent/White Falcon with ugly knobs. Unleash CME’s on screen talent.
Gretsch knurled knobs would *dramatically* improve the look!
8:44-Stripe "HP" increase is only possible with an 'Armoral'd' dashboard.
Come on...that's driveway tuning 101.
Okay decent video but I wish they played the modern model like they do the vintage one…
The bridge on the original rally is not original.
Also the original rallys had ACTIVE wiring requiring a 9volt battery.
Where are the new rally’s being manufactured?
Indonesia
Vintage gretsch sounds better to my ears
Yeah...I always thought Chicago folk needed to wear helmets anyway.
They mean it's cheaper to make with only one switch . . . Thus bringing it to you, from China, into the "21st century".
Dumb.
Yea no fun allowed!
You mean Zebra hahahhhahhahahhhahahhahhhahaah ouuuh lads!
