    I prefer naturally aspirated V-8 more than the turbocharged EcoBoost 3.5-liter V-6. If I were to buy a new F-150 I would prefer paying the premium 1,500 extra dollars for having more payload in towing and a longer lasting engine. 🙂

    One of the biggest scams has to be the “black appearance” package. For at least a grand you can have a few blackened decals &rims. I never knew why the colour black is worth more $. Is Ford saying the blackened F150 badge costs more to produce than the normal one??? Crazy.

    I like the old school column shifter (shifter on the steering wheel) I grew up driving automatic transmissions that had that. If I remember correctly the newer Ford trucks have a manual mode where there is a button on top of the column shifter where you can shift it like a manual transmission without having to use a clutch. It is technically an automatic transmission it just gives you the option to manually shift an automatic transmission without having to use a clutch because it is not technically a manual transmission. 🙂

      Yes, select shift allows you to do that.

    This is a great video with lots of useful info. Really like the looks on the FX4/Rattler version. The black rims nicely offset the white paint and the FX4 decal pulls it all together. Also, I actually like the lime accent on the 1st truck. And I agree, smart move by Ford to upgrade the STX so you can get a decently equipped truck for less money than the higher trims (which have gone insane in pricing).

    I do like Ford's pickup trucks over other manufacturers. My only complaint with Ford is that there is no Adaptive Cruise Control for the F-150 XL Single Cab, 2WD, SWB. Therefore, I'm forced to get Chevy's 1500 WT, S Cab, 2WD LWB with Adaptive Cruise Control and ALL safety tech included. This is a must-have for this senior to continue to drive on today's roads. I am old school and do not care for Pretty-Boy Saturday Night Rhinestone Cowboy trucks. My Grand Daddy taught me to drive in 1973 in his 1965 F-100 I6 (240CI) 3-speed Column shift. FYI thumbs up as always for the presentation.

    Stop h8in on the lime Tim, Lime is so much better than orange. or red for that matter.. Violet resonates with me, reminds me of spring. Probably why I have a purple Dagger sea kayak...

    I have not known any turbocharged engines not requiring premium fuel ⛽️ besides 3.5 EcoBoost cannot pull loads like 5.0 V-8 engines. 🙂

      Wrong again Fred. 3.5 EB can tow up to 14,200lbs. Max on 5.0 is 13K.

    2024 F-150 is disappointing for the price increase. It's not a great deal compared to 2023-2021. Looks like ford is phasing out regular cab trucks as well. Would not be surprised to see them limited to fleet sales in the next couple of years.

    The other reason why I prefer naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V-8 because 5.0-liter V-8 engines only need Regular Unleaded 87-Octane or Unleaded 88 E15 ethanol gasoline whereas EcoBoost 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 needs Premium 93-Octane Unleaded gasoline which, is more expensive per gallon than Regular Unleaded 87 or E15 ethanol 88 Unleaded Octane gasoline. 🙂

      Incorrect, sir. I have owned 4 ecoboost vehicles, and not one of them required premium fuel.

      I have EcoBoost and manual states 87 Octane. That's all I've ran for 8 years and ZERO issues.

    The Rattler was too good of a deal. Like they say everything you want and nothing you don’t want. Nobody would buy the trims above it.

    I would rather have the 5.0 V-8 Coyote engine because the 3.5 EcoBoost engine is a hunk of junk. I am not a fan of turbocharged V-6 engines souping up a small engine decreases the longevity of a smaller engine and if you are going to tow anything significant don’t get the EcoBoost get the V-8 Coyote engine Naturally Aspirated engine. 🙂
