    Sweet video. Some classics truly will never get old!

    Coming back to this video after 5 years, it's still just as painful to watch such a beautiful piece of electro-mechanical engineering get destroyed for no reason. The only thing that hurts more is that this video doesn't have it's dislikes visible anymore. I don't know exactly how many dislikes this video has, but let me just say, you deserve each and every one of them.

    • @SampullMC
      @SampullMC Год назад +6

      @@Okurka. It's a combination of "Electronic" and "mechanical" which are the two types of mechansim inside any arcade cabinet. You have the electronics, the lights, the screen, the game board, so forth, but also the mechanical workings, in most cases, the coin mechanisms, in others such as a pinball machine, there'd be the flippers, launch spring, and more.

    inside the picture tube is a phosphorus screen of red green and blue. behind the screen is a metal shadow mask that separates the RGB electron beams. the back is equipped with a deflection yoke that scans the beams vertically and horizontally. Keep in mind that a picture tube contains a high vacuum. which the air is completely evacuated. The voltage of these tubes is around 20,000 to 35,000 kilovolts

    • @EdLawless
      @EdLawless Год назад +1

      I can't agree more. I have restored 5 or 6 original pacman and ms. pacman cabinets that were in far worse shape than this one. I currently own two original pacman cabinets and a reunion cabinet. That monitor could have stood to have a new cap kit installed and probably would have soldiered on for another 30 years; if it had not been met with a sledge hammer. But instead lets bash it up? I don't get it. Could have taken marquee off the front and back door and took everything out piece by piece to show how it all fits. Did not even know that those blocks in the bottom were the isolation transformers. ;-( I restored an asteroids deluxe a few years ago for someone to purchase; that inquired about it. They kept pushing the pickup date off. So I eventually just told them; I don't think they are worthy of the machine; after I went through everything and replaced all caps and highly suspect transistors and instead gave it to a friend of mine. I know where the machine lives and that was 13+ years ago.
