ABOUT ME:
I’m Liam Harrison, Bolton born and bred. I’m a lover of Golf, life and laughter.
Started Golf 12 years ago after packing in football when i was 28 due to a back injury.
I started the RUclips channel as a laugh and a Wim, to make me practice but that went out the window as i started vlogging, loving being on camera but more so the interaction with my #golfmates.
In 14 months i have seen the channel evolve and become the only real golf community on RUclips which i am extremly proud of.
I would like to thank all the #golfmates that have been with us and supported us and the channel from the start. Also not forgetting our new #golfmates that may have only just come across the channel.
It was that good we played it every afternoon 4 days in a row after our morning round... if you play there get the golf boards such a good laugh... but agreed AMAZING course and a breath of fresh air from the busy villa mora courses

Liam, that course and your description reminds me of my favorite. Very similar story, I had 6 different tee times scheduled for a week of golf in Cabo San Lucas, needless to say after 1 round at Quivira I canceled all others and played 5 more straight. Been back 3 more weeks since that and still cannot bring myself to play any of the other courses. Love it. Cheers from Oklahoma USA.

My favorite courses are Shiskine, Berkhamstead and Hankley Common.
... oh, I suppose I like them because of the settings as well as the quality of the land itself / playing surfaces.
Shiskine is unique. Beautiful...Trust me, you'd love it.
... can I chuck Belle Dune (France) in there? Plays like a mix of Woburn, Birkdale and Moor Park. Probably the most relaxed club on the planet. I love it there.
Just saw this video.... and you're right Liam...this is the most beautiful course I have ever seen! I have played golf on some of the most beautiful courses in America, including Pinehurst No. 2, and I wish I was able to travel...because I would love to play this course! It's amazing!

Banyan in Thailand is the best course abroad I’ve played, preferred it to Black Mountain (The Dicks) favourite. This country, I love Silloth and Goswick, too many to choose from. That looks a lush course mind.
Went on a golfing trip to the North Island of New Zealand and played a total of 10 courses including Kauri Cliffs and Kidnappers both fantastic courses but the 2 favourites were Wairekei and Kinloch both in Lake Taupo.
Most amazing thing about golf in NZ is that the courses are not overused and the scenery and hospitality are excellent , even for a POM now Aussie😎.
Even she with small hands had a great time driving the buggy and she doesn't play golf.

Love West Cliffs. Played it a couple of times and a great course. Can be brutal with the wind up. Greens were in fantastic condition.
It's a v tough course as well...food in the clubhouse is lovely

Just got back from playing West Cliffs and Praia D’El Rey. West Cliffs is truly an amazing course. Shame the 17th isn’t on this video, really interesting hole. Very expensive resort though, paid €26 for a double vodka lemonade!

Great video. Terrific question. Course has to look good from the tee to green from green back to the tee. Definition of fairway and first cut. Good greens, same speed, not bumpy. Views essential. History a bonus for me. I think we all think a bit more fondly of a place we have played well at as well. Difficult to say my favourite course, as for different reasons I like one or another. Inland, Sunningdale old for me. Then for just purity, Turnbury. If God saw that patch of land and built a golf course, he would put the tees where they are,manda the greens where they are. Favourites are links, so pick from Tralee, Ballybunion, La Hinch ( you can tell I am old school!) in Ireland, Carnoustie, North Berwick, Blairgowrie in Scotland. Sandwich, Hillside, St Enadoc.....and just slip in Lindrick, for England. La Belle dune for France, spyglass Hill or Cyprus point for USA. See, it is difficult! Not done Spain or Portugal!
Been playing a long time Liam😉 . My tendency is to like more than to dislike. Do lots of research, listen to your mates, they are always happy to recommend
Belle Dune is special. It's a shame that so many changes were made to Hardelot Dunes...too many short par 3s now and they completely butchered two of the best par 5s I ever played. What they've done to the 18th is criminal.
You just know if it's the best don't ya, you can feel it. Looks fantastic, especially that time of the day. Good effort mate.
Liam I have 2 "the best course" but they come with different criteria.
The old course is my 1st best because of the history. Walking where all the greats have, just gave me chills all round. Now in Canada it was Mt.Kidd at Kanaskis, mountain views every hole perfectly landscaped. Just beautiful. Keep up the good work, glad I stumbled across your channel

Morning Mr Harrison, I’ve not played a great deal of courses, but best I’ve played close to me is Forest Pines, just outside Scunthorpe. It’s three 9 holes shorts courses, Forest, Pines and Beaches. Well worth a knock if you’re ever in the area.
Also, you need to be straight, especially on Pines, so don’t take OMP, he’ll defo have you fivers off ya!

Stunning. Best course needs to be something which you will remember, whether it would be the scenery or how well you played it, making it memorable. I loved the West course at La Manga, where most people enjoy the south or the north.

Lucky me, I have several local courses in that category. One in particular is my favorite, but I live in central Japan so good luck coming here to play. Great courses all over Japan though, hard to go wrong. Therefore Nobayama Chateraise G.C.C is my favorite course.

Best manicured course I have ever played is the Wynn golf course in Vegas (almost as well manicured as Augusta National!). Best golfing experience was playing East Lake (where they play the tour championship), they treat everyone like royalty. The most iconic course I have ever played is Pebble Beach. The most fun course I have ever played is a course that was torn down due the Greta recession we experienced 12 years ago..Beach Tree...hated that!

Stunning course. Unbelievable. Favorite course out here in the US I've played is a tie between Wolf Creek in Mesquite, NV and Tobacco Road in Sanford, NC.
Another great video Liam, I only wish I get the chance to play there sometime in the future. Regarding my favourite course of all time to date....It has to be the Balcomie course, one of two links courses at the Crail Golfing Society in Sconny Botland. With Craighead being the second course there. I've had the fortune to play both courses, each having there own individual challenges, but the Balcomie course gets it every time for me. Why...? Difficult to put into words, but I just get that tingly feeling, with the breath taking views stood on the first tee.

Blairgowrie golf course Scotland the best course I have ever played by far my favourite.
Loved the golf around Lisbon, one of my favourites is Pehna Longa Atlantico beautiful scenery terrific golf course. Moving into the US played Mission Inn El Campeon which is another great course!!
@@GolfMates We go to Florida every couple of years, stay in Kissimmee and travel about an hour radius around that area. Celebration, Mission Inn, Grand Cypress all a must play. All what the Americans call semi-private which means open to public. looking forward to this year's trip early November.

My home course Druids Glen takes some beating in the parkland category. Old Head of Kinsale in Cork is incredible also. Pop across for a visit.

Very similar looking to Spyglass HIlls GC on the Monterrey Peninsula in California. Equally breath-taking in scenery that will test your skill level.

My favourite course I’ve played has to be Druids Glen in Ireland, it’s simply stunning and you can see why it’s called Europe’s Augusta. Maybe you should take OMP there?

We played this last year we booked what they call the Royal collection..one round at Royal Obidos...one at Praya d Ray...one West Cliffs and a round at campo Real.....we only payed 250 euro for the golf ....incredible value...I agree west cliff is my favourite course

Looks amazing! My yardstick for a great course is one that is challenging and brings out your best BUT you don’t mind too much if you hit a bad shot! My top 3 here would be Royal Dornoch, Boat of Garten and Cullen but there’s loads of others!!👍🏼

Its amazing how you get a feeling for a golf course it can capture you in a moment. I know what you mean Liam as Iv'e had that feeling a few time over the years but its hard to name my best course.

Looks great, my vote Alcaidesa Links overlooking Gibraltar stunning course and because I played it well.
Best UK home course for stunning views used to be a member at Grange over Sands 9 hole on 3rd Hole you look across to Morecambe and down over Cartmel and over to the Windemere and Langdale just awestruck and wicked tiny greens.

The best course is one you want to play again. Mid-Pines, a Donald Ross course in Southern Pines/Pinehurst. With the dogwoods in bloom in the spring you believe you died an gone to heaven. I have 4 Ross course with 15 minutes of home. This is haven😊😊

Looks great. Ive not played in Spain or Portugal, sadly. I have played some nice courses...Black Mountain and Red Mountain in Thailand have fabulous views also and are a fair test of your golf.
You lucky dog Liam! Sweet looking course. As far as what makes a golf course the best course.....Hmmmm in my opinion it has to be in great condition especially the greens. Also it must have memorable scenery and be a fair test of golf. For sure this West Cliffs Golf Club falls into my criteria. Well done Liam

The favorite course (feels like I'm writing a school essay!) I will ever play will be the one where I don't care what I shoot, ever.
I will breathe deep and cleanly. My heart rate will never rise above resting. I can see forever over the ocean's horizon, the world falling over a cliff at the far end. I will feel happiness and peace.
