    I had custom molded IEMs made in 2012 by 1964Ears. It was the best investment as a lead guitarist who was gigging 30+ times per year. They’re still going strong, sound great, block out other noise, and obviously feel perfect.
    Highly recommended!

    Great review! They really should do more reviews on Westone! Personally, I have a pair of um pro 40's. They are absolutely stunning! My suggestion would be to get the Bluetooth cable which is totally worth it! You can even charge the cable via USB while you plug it back into your regular cable!

    Sorry but you can't have burn-in on armature drivers. It only applies to dynamic drivers. (if it may..)

    I use Westone UM pro 50s, great IEM's. Sound great but the cable failed after only 4 months of use. I contacted the store and they sent me a new set. I was going to buy a replacement cable by Westone from Amazon for £47 but the rating feedback was really bad so bought a couple of sets from eBay for £8.45 each. The cable seems to work as good as the original but time will tell. Best wishes from the UK.

    Using Etymotic ER-4P in ear monitors. They excel especially in isolation, can hardly hear any ambient sounds when using public transportation. Sound is very good though the bass lacks a bit. The cord in these is the worst.

    What are the plusses and minusses of both? Which is better overall?

    Wait what? You're the fragrance bro! I didn't know you also reviewed earphones! This feels really strange. Now you're talking about the performance of these earphones and I'm expecting you to talk about their longevity and compliment factor 😂

      @BeastMadeReviews  5 лет назад +2

      LOL! I'm actually contemplated merging these two channels. Managing two channels is too difficult for one person. And I have a lot of other things I want to talk about. Hopefully some more IEMs too. 😁
      P.S. longevity on these is beastly

      @@BeastMadeReviews Thanks for your reply. I think you should keep them separated though. The other channel is for fragrances only, while this one is for a variety of stuff. If you merge them, they will lose their focus. I mean some subscribers follow you for fragrance-related contents. They won't be interested in other reviews. Vice versa, people who follow this channel may not be interested in fragrances. Just my 2 cents.

    If you're on the move it makes more sense buying a good headphone than a fancy stereo at home. My experience with fancy in-ears is pretty bad though. They're not durable and it sucks when they crumble after 2 years. My $20 Meelectronic m6 have been ungodly abused and still go on after many years so I'm very disappointed by Shure and Sony. I rather spend the cash on expensive fullsize cans, I'll enjoy those forever.

    • @BeastMadeReviews
      @BeastMadeReviews  7 лет назад

      Yeah I agree. I think durability really depends on the brand and even the model within a brand. These Westones seem pretty durable so far, and I've not been dainty with them. Those Meelectronics are great cheapies. I've used them before and they're great for the money. I debated whether to get a cheap set like that since I could get multiple pairs, but the sound quality wasn't as good as the Shures or Westones, and that was something I couldn't compromise for my use. But overall, those are pretty good. :)

    So you have potentially been using these over a year now.. Still using the AMPro30's? About to take the plunge. Really hate being isolated from the congregation with my Sure315's - though they sound terrific, not disappointed with their quality of sound at all.

    • @BeastMadeReviews
      @BeastMadeReviews  5 лет назад +2

      I absolutely LOVE these. I use them every week. I actually prefer the sound isolation of UM Pros, personally. But I have a friend who has the AM Pros and loves them. He really wanted to hear the congregation more, so those are perfect for him. Either choice is great. But I think if you want to hear the congregation more, the AM pros are your choice.

      I want the stage volume quiet and the point of the in-ears is to control volume. I love my UM Pro 30’s and have no desire to try the ambience ones.

    Im a noob at this bit i got some free AKGs bundled with my samsung S9(they look like they have star tips btw). When inside i cant hear anything from outside anyway. Theyre in the same condition after a year. These are what i use for the stage playing i do. It doesnt sound great but im struggling to see what an extra £300 will actually do lol
    I hate over the ear headphones btw cause anything touching my outer ear for prolonged periods causes my ears to go hot and red for hours later

    • @Smithelwerb
      @Smithelwerb 5 лет назад +1

      Hey man, I can shed some light on this. I have those same AKGs from when I got my Note 9, and I also have these Westone UM30s. The differences, as I see them, are:
      1. Isolation. You say the AKGs block out noise, and you're right, but not like the Westones. I put my Westones in on every plane ride I take (10-15/month for work) and I can't hear the engines at all. I put them in on stage and I can't hear the drums next to me, but I can h ear my vocalist whisper into the mic at the same time. The isolation is on par with the best earplugs you'll find, which is great if you play loud shows.
      2. The AKGs sound pretty good for the price, and are loaded with deep, rich bass. That's not what you want for stage use, however. You really want something that produces every single frequency from 20Hz to 20kHz at the exact same volume, so you get the most accurate "sonic picture" of what you sound like. If I'm a bass guitarist and I use the AKGs, I'd probably be turning myself down all the time because the bass would be overwhelming in my ears. Meanwhile, the crowd couldn't hear me at all.
      3. The overall sound clarity is much higher on the Westones, which again, is what you need for performance. You listen to these things and hear tiny little details of the music that you might not have heard before. They allow you to pick out the tiniest little details, which leads to you sounding better. If your guitar has some hiss in it, the AKG's might just block that out, but the Westones will tell you about it so you can fix it right away. They're what I call "acoustically transparent," meaning they don't hide anything, and are designed to sound as neutral as possible.
      Having said all of that, do you NEED these? Definitely not. They're a "nice-to-have," unless you're a touring musician who plays 30+ shows a year. I use them every day at work as plain old headphones while I'm at my desk, but I also use them at home for drum and guitar practice. I'm in a place in my life where I can afford these things, even if I'm only playing a few shows a year and DJing once in a blue moon. So, try to look at these more like a tool to enable better performance, rather than just crazy expensive headphones. Which, for monitors, they're actually not (some of the Ultimate Ears stuff can run you $2500 or more for a pair).
      Hope this helps!

      @@Smithelwerb i play on stage 6 nights a week ;)
      As for speakers i bought a QTX a fee years ago for like £100. the most recent speakers (well studio monitors) i bought were two yamaha HS80ms that cost 500 for the pair. I tried them at home and they sounded no better or worse than my roland kc350 keyboard amp (which i dont even think is that great). Everyone at work uses in ears though. Ill be returning or selling on the yamahas despite the seller claiming they are the best thing for me as a stage pianist so or in a band (lol i think hes talking $%^&).

      @@Smithelwerb also i want to hear the drums of course. He has mics so i should be able to get that fed into my ear mix and not hear his stage sound? What would you suggest? My budget is around 300. I hear triple or quaf driver is what i should be aiming for

      @@Smithelwerb clarity is what im after too. The bass guitar sounds like a fart noise most of the time :( Also they ask me to double keyboard and piano lines because the MD cant be arsed to remove them from the track. As a result i feel this clutters up the sound. I really canmot describe how terrible everything sounds and its not just volumes

    Looks nice, but I'm very happy with my Harman Kardon earbuds and Bose headphones coupled with the sound tweaks made on my phone...and I could never spend that much on headphones even with Bill Gates money. But that's just me.
    Request: Hey I'm looking for a Beastmade laptop backpack for work since I'm be commuting again in the near future. For years I was toting around an old canvas laptop backpack from one of the universities where I used to teach evening graduate classes, but after 10-years I had to toss it our since it was starting to fall apart.
    I purchased an Ogio laptop backpack back on February but never used it since a week later a client issued a laptop to me that came in a stellar laptop backpack that I used for two months. Anyway, I start commuting next week and noticed my new/unused Ogio (which was perfect when I first bought it) is pale in comparison--both quality and functionality--to the one I was using. I have no idea who made it since I wasn't paying attention, so I'm looking for some suggestions because I plan to use it daily.
    Cheers.

      I dont think its worth it to get customs if your not a working musican and really need it.
      Because
      1. you pay more than $400 with ear molds
      2. Your ears canals and head grow so you have to remake your custom iem's every 4 years to get a correct fit.
      3. That means spend more $ $ $ insted you can get a almoast as good seal if get some comply p-series ear-tips with some univarsl fit iem's.
