Ill vouch for these they sound amazing !! I was building patches myself and getting some great tones that rivaled anything you could buy. After getting the Benson patch and playing it the past couple weeks in church and at home, ive decided theres no way I can match em anymore. Good job boys appreciate all yall do !!
Very interesting indeed. IMO there's def more warmth, body or something when first striking the strings in the real AC30 amp versus the helix preset which has a bit more attack or brittleness....in this video. I think it's the same across them all. The matchless are closest to each other. Keep up the good work.
Very interesting! I immediately realized what you guys have done and what it must have taken to get there. I don't use HX or any virtual amps yet but this may have sold me on just how good things have gotten.
Thanks dudes. My recommendation is to pick one of the more popular Morgan amp models. That brand is outstanding (so is Joe Morgan) and I have a feeling folks would freak out if you could pull it off.
Great video! Would love some tone matching on some vintage Fender stuff for instant mojo: Silverface drip edge Vibrolux and maybe a Super Reverb. Keep up the good work gents.
They are really really good. I’ve bought most of them so far. It’s been a similar experience to when I first tried a York IR compared to a stock one. Definitely next level as you say. Tone junkies tone match ones are also amazing. How about doing an Orange OR80 or 120? Or possibly a Sunn Model T?
As far as ideas go I think it would be so cool if you guys did an “artist series” and matched the amp tones and key effects used by guys like U2’s The Edge and Neal Schon from Journey.. I’m yet to find a U2 preset for the helix that is spot on. Love your content!! Thanks for what you do! 🙌🏼
Interested to see how these presets progress. Correct me if I'm wrong but, I think Glenn DeLaune had been doing this tone matching sort of thing with ir's for a few years already.
You guys are the best. love what you're doing to make great tones on the Helix. Listening to the comparisions on my Yamaha studio monitors, the original amps all sound better with a nice warm tone but the helix patches all sound a bit thin and slightly unpleasant in the midrange. I'll still buy the patches and try them out myself but this is just what I noticed. Thanks guys!
Are you on like HS-8s or something? Those have an interesting reputation for their characteristics. We hear a difference on our monitors but it’s certainly not what you are experiencing 🤷🏻♂️ Thanks for checking it out.
@@bmitchellmusic I just bought the BadKat patch and I'm getting beautiful full tones out of the same monitors. Very happy. I'm guessing it's just how the sound was processed in RUclips and it's a subtle thing. Anyway, all the years of making patches better and better really shows. Great job!
Got the matchless patch yesterday and it's awesome, probably gonna get a few more today but I'm definitely going to need a Marshall or 2 sometime soon, great work guys!
The Helix for most of the patches did sound more compressed and not as open and clear, but the Gretsch did stand out as extremely close on the lower gain settings. I really would like to see a comparison between the tone match and the regular helix models + irs
I would really like to see some quality modern metal amps done like this and having someone possibly do guest guitar if y’all think you can’t adequately play metal. The reason I want to see that is because I’ve heard a lot of people say that I can’t do metal well
@@bmitchellmusic the only guy to try to make sense using a triple negative. Lol I have to watch this again cause I’m interested to see what you are doing to make the IR’s. I’m using the ACS1 in conjunction with the helix amp sims and own hammer IR’s to get better feeling sim patches. I wonder if that’s similar to what you are doing. You are just capturing the whole signal chain while mine is more fluid.
If you dropped the Tone Matched IR into an Irdium, would that work as well? (I dont have one, but i have a friend who asked me this. i assume it would sound awesome, but i am sure a lot of tweaking is done on the amp model itself.)
I would love to be able to take the 1965 Super Reverb or Bruno Underground 22 with me in my Helix. Perhaps I need to come visit you all for a day and let you do some recording.
Hi, in your opinion what is the ideal reverb value (on a headphone) for gaming? Non-competitive gaming (no fortnite or warzone) but like the last of us, God of war, fallout, therefore a sound with immersion, and spatiality.
@@bmitchellmusic I think I just have a particular way I like mine set up and can’t jibe with anything different. 😂 I dig the approach you have on this series. Been waiting for L6 to put a Brownface Deluxe in the Helix, soooo…
Oh man… Direct competition with Tone Junkies, haha. Just kidding! Good meeting you guys at NAMM. Next time you’re in SoCal let me know and we can do KBBQ! Tones sound great guys!
So effectively you make an IR of the real amp, not just the cab, but the whole amp, then make an IR of the whole amp in the Helix, without the cab, and pretty much "subtract" that from the IR made from the real amp so that you can then pair the final IR with the amp in the Helix and have it basically sound like the real amp, and if you had the settings about the same between the Helix amp and real amp when taking those IR's and the amps are similar enough, then making tweaks to the Helix amp in the final patch will be close enough to the similar tweaks being done on the real amp. Something like that? I must admit that I never got the idea of buying someone else's patches when effectively they were just a bunch of settings on the Helix. IR's and things like this though suddenly do make sense to sell and people to buy because you are offering something that you can't just replicate by spending time sitting with the Helix itself.
in the traditional sense of the word people mean "profile?" Nope. Can someone use a series of EQs and other things to modify some of the built in amp models to sound like a model that is not in the Helix? Clearly.
What I would like to see? Drop some gospel in y’all’s videos. That would be TRUE next level. Y’all have such a huge opportunity to spread Christ with how many subs you have. I would bet tons are non believers. And hey, your brothers and sisters in Christ would love some encouragement as well. 👍👍

That we can do. Standby.

Hi bradford bought my first guitar a couple weeks ago
Definitely loving the Benson Amp. Can we get some Jackson amps, like the Scarlett?
The Fawn normal model is almost exactly like the Newcastle 30, I have A/B'd them with the same IR

This mainly just makes me want to go back to real amps. The touch-sensitivity alone seems different to me. That AC30 sounds noice.
Interested to see how these presets progress. Correct me if I'm wrong but, I think Glenn DeLaune had been doing this tone matching sort of thing with ir's for a few years already.
also does it a lot better and a heck of a lot cheaper. Much, much better value. e.g 18 amp matches for $27 or $10 for one with WT. .
Please consider doing this for those of us that have the FM3 and FM9.
All our Tone Match patches are available for Fractal hardware too. We do the same process.
Yes some type of DrZ would be awesome. Z wreck or Cure.

I bought the Chieftain TM for my HX Stomp and tried it on the ACS-1 out of curiosity. It was . . . fine. I went back to the stock IR.
Good to know. We may be making some specifically for the ACS1 tho too!
@@bmitchellmusic Awesome! Don't get me wrong--the patch sounds spectacular in the HX Stomp. :)

Marshall’s are coming! 😎
The Gretsch is mega close`. The helix version of the other ones sounded just a little cleaner/more digital which I guess they would.
I actually greatly preferred the amp sounds. The Helix was quite far off in those examples (except for the Gretsch amp)

Awesome guys 👍 I'd like to try vintage fenders and marshalls 😉

Do all of your Helix patches work in Helix native if i don't have a floorboard hardware unit. Looking to get Native if your patches work in it
