What sold me on the Helix originally was when I did a tone match by ear using eq’s and ir’s. A/B ing through studio speakers I couldn’t tell what was the amp or the Helix. So I get it.
I have purchased your entire helix library. As well as your ir’s. I am so beyond stoked with these patches/irs . I’m blessed to play real amps through an iso booth on Sunday but I might take a pass and give these a go in there place
Gotta try this, i bought an hx stomp and It took a long time for me to be able to get decent tones, but nothing like what I get with my kemper, I just love the form factor of the hx stomp.
You can probably fix the compression issue by tweaking the bias and sag settings in the amp model, as well as turning the master volume down as some have found it really sweetins up
What about metal tones? I'm interested, but I went in the site and I didn't find nothing in the metal department... A mesa 4x12 with v30s tone matched to a Mark IV or recto. Something like that would be great
I really like the sounds you're getting. I have an HX Stomp. How should a user compensate for the different gear the Tone Matched IR was created with versus the gear the user is going to use to play through the IR? For instance, if you created the IR using single coil pickups, but the user's guitar has humbuckers, I don't think they're going to sound the same. Perhaps you could make a video that answers this question and demonstrates how big or small the differences are likely to be. Thanks
I could be wrong, but I don’t think they use a guitar when creating the IR. I’ve seen it done where they send a frequency sweep though signal for the capture (and likewise when they tone-match it to the amp model) so that it reacts the same no matter what signal is sent through it. Hope this helps!
I downloaded the free patch with the TM IR. It sounds really hollow to me. I turned off all effects and was getting the same result. I was wanting to try your AC100 patch but not sure if I will get the same result.
I own every hx stomp patch thus far from you. Matchless ch 1&2 were amazing even without tone match. Park was great too. As a humble request: anything /13 (FTR 37, BTR, 9/15) and matchless chieftain or bad cat after the staples are covered
Sounds good on its own, similar to an amp in Air mode (no mic), played in your room, and that’s perfect for that scope. I’m just wondering how it would work in the mix, or in live situations. If we take an isolated guitar stem from whatever song, it sounds sooo different from Air tones. Live tones even more. I think it would deserve a test :)
Wow… the Suhr S-90s sound insane. HW is anyone other than you and the WT guys doing this? I see a handful of vids going back anywhere from 1-4 years, but no one but you guys doing this on this scale. Maybe AB comparisons would be great future content? Or even better yet, ABC with Kemper would be really interesting…
Are the tones in the free download different than the ones in the video that you can purchase? The free patches that I downloaded sounded a bit "muddy". I love the video demo sounds, I hope that I did something wrong because I really want to purchase these if they sound like the demo video. Thanks.
Got to admit. I spent a lot of time researching the Kemper and the Helix, before buying the Helix. I HAAAATTTEEE the tone coming out of the Helix!!!! I also hate that I had been sold by so many people on YT talking about it (and probably being sponsored by them). I am hesitant to spend any more money on this setup, even just $80 on an IR pack, but I get it, I have spent so much at this point, it is worth the try. Thanks for the video.
Why would you ever buy something based on what some dude on RUclips says instead of going to the music store and playing it for yourself, and then shit talking the people on RUclips for sharing their opinions because you bought without trying first?
Question- Have you spent any time with York Audio IRs? I am really digging them. I also find running Dual Cabs to sound better than single ones. I really like your IRs as well. Thanks!
Yeah I’m working on a worship template to drop different amps into, and the. Sooze will probably build some stuff too that we will put out. The templates will probably just be free for the email list so sign up if you don’t get those helix emails.
Hi ... Do you have a video where you explain the makeup of these Tone Matched presets. Can they be translated to i.e. a Pod Go, or have you made any for the Pod Go? If not ...Do you utilize functionality in the Helix that cannot be translated to the Pod Go? Kind regards Nils
So the way i see it, helix amps are modeled after amps that (presumably) line 6 owned and replicated. So these tone match IRs are just making Line 6s amp sound more like your specific amp?
@@BobbyCulpepper.srv3fender hislop only has one tone match which is the Benson Chimera. Worship Tutorials also have multiple. Their most recent Matchless one is insanely good.
David Hislop's all in bundle has an AC 30 match and a Fender prosonic + IRs for their cabs. Great snapshot settings with the gain staging and effects too. Great for worship! Lots of great stuff happening. TJ and WT is super consistent with fantastic tones as always!
🤣🤣🤣 I was driving listening und you talk about the the stock cab’s people (you are deaf) 😝😝😝 I laughed so hard, I had to pull over and compliment you with this message 🎊🎉🎈 Thanks for brightening my day. BTW I will buy this patch as soon as I get home. Great work man!!!
SO sweet sounding. I love this mans playing. He makes it shine even more.
i never imagine that the helix can sound so tube like ...your presets are awesome ...thx 😉
I'm in the same boat dude! It's such a big improvement over everything else.
What sold me on the Helix originally was when I did a tone match by ear using eq’s and ir’s. A/B ing through studio speakers I couldn’t tell what was the amp or the Helix. So I get it.

THIS guy gets it. Read his question. This is not rocket science.

Sold the kemper and now 100% AxefxIII. Tone matching is also superb. You should take a look too!
Cheers
some of the helix ams have sag controls...I keep thinking I can use that to get more of the compression style Bias Amp gets
This solution can be used on Pod Go?

Indeed, it sounds awesome.
That intro sound was so thrice, I dig it.
Bend Sun for helix soon?
That AC100 sounded glorious. Do you do presets for the axe fx ?

also downloaded a free preset.my rig helix LT , am.strat and les paul 90s. the sound is very different from your video(((( ??????????
Need some options for the rectifier, engl, diezel.. any plans in the future?
I've been using custom IRs on Helix since I started with Helix. Spent many dimes on them.

@@gtrguy916maybe he doesn’t live near a music store that carries the Helix. Ever thought of that?
I love that intro tone to the T, what amp was that ?
My all time favorite Kemper patch from you guys is the AC-10. If you still have that amp, would LOVE to see it matched for the Helix.
I’ve got and I’ll Tone match it!
When you talk adding compression before and after are you talking outboard or what's on the unit
Man, that sounds killer!!! Curious what your thoughts are on the Quad Cortex
Question- Have you spent any time with York Audio IRs? I am really digging them. I also find running Dual Cabs to sound better than single ones. I really like your IRs as well. Thanks!
How do you load their IR?? They have mixed, natural etc. it gets confusing.
Any reason you couldn’t do a TM IR for the Iridium? I’d love to hear that (and would gladly pay for it)!
Working on it now. We will have a big iridium bundle with a bunch of tone matches to amps etc.
@@ToneJunkieTV Awesome! Can’t wait to hear it! Appreciate everything you all are putting out!
ACS1 Tone match? Or iridium? Someday?
I don't understand.. if its an IR, what amp are you supposed to use ?
Will you be doing worship sounds for the helix like you did for kemper?

@@ToneJunkieTV will do! Thanks I bought the worship pack for my kemper, but I’m wanting the helix cause it’ll be even lighter to take 🤣
As a person who is new to guitar and of course new to digital, how do you make up your mind? Or do you just dive in?
You’ve just become a valuable asset to Line 6. If you could master the tone matched IRs and amps for the hard rock/heavy metal crowd…look out!
SLO 100 coming this weekend
@@ToneJunkieTV yeeees!
Just bought this! How do I know which IR's to use based on your demos here?
The names should pretty much match. “AC100” preset should go with the “AC100” IR and “AC100 B” with the “AC100 B” IR
Yo Jonathan - can these TMIR's be used on the POD GO?
I just bought a PODGO so I will have patches for those as well.
@@ToneJunkieTV Huzzah!
Yeah, I’ll buy whatever TM patches you release. Thanks!
Thanks dude, 5 are out now and I’ve got tons more on the way!
Can you guys tell me what’s this software’s name ?!!
do you have the cloudy snapshot for the hx stomp?
20w Celestions like EVH used! 30w Vintage Celestions too! Let’s hear em!
At last some helix love!
When you gonna start showing us Pod Go users some love!?
You keep saying you're going to go out and buy one.
Does it work as well with the high gain amps?
That’s a ton of reverb.
What is an i-r ? What does it mean ?
